Cassandra is a great character, even in a non-romance relationship I think she's fantastic. But in a romance there a few little moments, a few little exchanges... and, you know, I'm sure there are similar moments in all the romances and I look forward to seeing what they all are, but the Cassandra romance is totally worth it.
Oh, Cassandra... you're the one reason why I want to try rolling a male Quizzy </3
So... i seem to be having a problem with Blackwall. I'm nearly done Emprise Du Lion. I have only the Hissing Wastes to do after this, and then the endgame begins. The problem is, Blackwall didn't take off for Val Royeaux. Not once. He's still sitting down there in the stables, and he has no new dialogue. I've been checking on it every time I go back to Skyhold. What did I miss? Is it because I banished the Wardens but not him? Is it because the approval isn't high enough? Hell, in my first game, Cole hated my guts, and I still got him to become more human.
Now that I think about it, I haven't gotten the quest about Solas' spirit friend either. Is that whole thing mage-specific? or elf-specific, or female-elf-mage-specific?
Did I break the game when i booted Sera and Cole out?

Hmm... I think I just might do that! I almost always roll a female PC in RPGs, but surprisingly my favorite and most memorable playthrough of DA: O was as a male Mahariel who romanced Morrigan, fathered the OGB, and went through the Eluvian with her. Now I have to decide on which race for my Quizzy. Hmm... I do like the elf man/human woman pairing a lot.
Also, here's a semi-relevant youtube video I have an excuse to share:

other than the female city elf origin, which pleases me because unstoppable-juggernaut-of-doom-and-not-forgiving, the warden/Morrigan romance is my favorite.
What I really hated about DA:O was that I couldn't play a Dalish Elf mage
Grrr.
Yeah, I'd have loved that too, actually. There was a comment one of the writers made on BSN after DA:O's release about why they didn't include a Dalish mage, explaining that the mage origin was created with peoples' first playthrough in mind (to introduce them to the lore and how magic is viewed in Thedas). I'll try to search for it.
Edit: Found it. David Gaider said it, in fact. http://forum.bioware...-elf/?p=1228124
First, I just want to say how much I love that Supernatural fans really are everywhere. And it's not just Tumblr that we take over. Lol.
Anyway, so yesterday evening I was playing and I traveled to the Emerald Graves for the first time. There's so many rifts there! The scenery is amazing. So pretty. But those great bears though! Ugh. So I've got all the camps set up and I've done a few missions and checked out the zombie-haunted mansion. I was on my way to the next when I saw an ogre stomping around up ahead. I needed to go that direction but probably wasn't ready for a battle with an ogre yet. I just barely leveled up to 15. So I went stealth and slid around him. After I spread the ashes of somebody for somebody I don't remember, I headed back and saw a dragon in the distance. I could hear it's wings and roars. I turned the other way and saw two ogres lumbering by. A dragon and two ogres? That's a whole lot of NOPE. I went to the map and fast traveled outta there to my nearest camp.
Oh the hours fly by too fast when I play. Had to shut down for the night after that. Will return to the Emerald Graves this weekend!
I watched Cassandra repeatedly taunt a ram in the Hinterlands that was minding its own business and trying to run away from her. Jeez, Cass. She even chased the ram across a lake.
And that from the person, who in a banter with Sera asks "Why should I assault a (helpless) animal?"
I always have that problem btw. Last time yesterday. I was bravely fighting Venatoris in the Hissing Wastes and wondered why the rest of my group wasn't fighting with them. Turned the camera around aaand: Off they went, chasing a Fennec. And during this pt, I was so nice to all of them, that there is no excuse for leaving me alone like that.

Stuff like this is hilarious. Sometimes i miss click on rams/nugs etc. and the whole party buffs up and start chasing the poor creature. And ofc quizzy shouts "DIE!" in the end. Not cool, bro, not cool.
(Playing on NM)
So the truth has finally been revealed. The man formerly known as Blackwall is not only posing as another man, but also posing as a Grey Warden. Not that the man formerly known as Blackwall's evasive and simplistic responses to Adaar's questions about Wardens wasn't a giant red flag. Learning that the man formerly known as Blackwall's actually a treasonous scumbag was the real kicker. He refuses to believe that the imposter's true name is Thom Rainier. It sounds so anticlimactic. Kuruk, however, saw fit to spare him a quick and underwhelming death and instead would leave him in the custody of the Grey Wardens once his time with the Inquisition was finished. Speaking of Grey Wardens...
Kuruk and his allies finally met Hawke and Loghain at Adamant fortress, and things were predictably chaotic. Warden Commander Clarel, being the dunce that she is, decided that using blood magic rituals to bind demons just so they could kill the Old Gods before they were corrupted was a good idea. She of course, like the many fools that followed her, was horribly wrong. Instead, the ritual she'd been given by an equally shady third party actually gave Corypheus control over the Warden mages that participated in it. The sod apparently, had hit the fan, and it stunk.
This of course inflamed Hawke, since she'd had to wipe out mages in Kirkwall that were abusing blood magic and transforming into tentacled cthulhu beasts due to the sheer madness of Meredith. She and Loghain did not get along very well. With Cullen and his men laying siege to the fortress, Adaar and the others infiltrated it and interrupted an attempt by Clarel and the Wardens to summon yet another daemon. However, Kuruk Adaar's storied understanding of Warden history allowed him to convince her of the truth regarding Magister Erimond and his work for Corypheus. It was too late of course; while she chased after him, Kuruk and his buddies found themselves knee-deep in an all-out skirmish with a Pride daemon.
Kuruk of course defeated the daemon, but an even greater threat appeared: the legendary Archdemon of Corypheus. It laid waste to all around them. The rest however, is a blur; the most Adaar remembers is Clarel sacrificing herself to distract the dragon before the fortress began to crumble, and afterward him stretching his hand forward as a Fade rift opened and swallowed the crew.
Adaar and the others awoke to find themselves inside the very Fade in physical form; something Iron Bull was definitely not thrilled about. In their journey to return to the physical world, they learned yet another truth as Kuruk tried to recover his memories: Divine Justinia, not Andraste, was the one who saved him. Her spirit - or one perhaps mirroring it, he couldn't be certain - led them through the mysterious place as the truth finally came to light. No great tale is without great conflict, of course.
They unknowingly entered the abode of Nightmare, a powerful daemon that taunted each of them with their deepest fears and regrets; they even discovered a small graveyard with their names marked on them, and presumably, their greatest fears. Nonetheless, they reached the heart of this place, where the monstrous daemon rested and the spectre of Justinia sacrificed herself again, as they fought the most terrifying foe they'd faced before. It assaulted them while minions swarmed them and appeared in the form of things that scared them. They prevailed somehow, though not without loss. Hawke sacrificed herself so that they could escape the Fade - and so that Loghain could rebuild the Order. Kuruk kept that sacrifice at mind when he decided to spare the Wardens, trusting Loghain. He then pondered how he'd break the news to Varric.

Spoiler
.
Ha!
I made a male character just to see how Cassandra's romance was. And quit this playthrough as soon as I reached the goal.
She is very cute.
The other day in Dragon Age Inquisition:
I became more and more convinced that DW Rogue is basically the "LOL Dragons on Nightmare" class (to be fair I was a bit over leveled for that poor Abyssal)
Her cousin didn't fare much better, I'm afraid:
After that, while farming Lurker leather, Vivienne gave us a glimpse of what kind of sculptures she wants in her gardens for the next season, and Dorian even provided some pyrotechnic décor in the background, but I'm not sure Cole approves:
Then we finally encountered the Chantry Stalker Sister for the 4th time and she gave us a nice bow for Sera:
Hmm... I think I just might do that! While I enjoyed my Amell/Morrigan playthrough, I much prefer the "sister"(or even bro) relationship you can have with Morrigan.
But yes Cassandra (and Dorian), are good incentive to roll a male Quizz, plus I find Curry voice acting awesome for the few hours I played with him.
Dat video though ![]()

Have you found all his 'Grey Warden artefacts' yet? Perhaps it's that. I doubt it's due to exiling the Wardens. On one of my playthroughs, I kicked them out, and he still had that quest.
That said, Blackwall seems very buggy in general. If I exile the Wardens, he disappears out of Skyhold completely. Managed to make him turn up eventually by fast-travelling round and round Skyhold until he reappeared. Then there's the fact his extra dialogues don't appear after his personal quest. What a frustrating man you are, beard thief.
Edit: Solas' quest isn't race/class related, got that one with Cadash. Maybe approval again?

Hmm, thanks for the input. I'm not sure what happened. I did just wrap up his inner circle fetch quest recently. Maybe enough time hasn't passed yet? *shrug* ... it's not a huge deal, but wow it seems that Harold's reign as inquisitor has been a bit of a mess, heh. In my first game, I recruited the wardens -- and then *ahem* sent them on a series of war table missions that slowly bled their numbers until they were unavailable for the final fight... at least that's what Cullen told me. This time around, I invited him to remain with us after exiling the wardens, and he since hasn't had anything to say.

I think it's an approval thing. I've gotten it before completing his fetch quest but I usually have high approval already. If there's anything you can do to up that, it's worth a shot.
As for Solas, unless you have patch 3 and it's fixed it, his quest is still really buggy as far as I know. You need high approval for that, too, I think, but it's not race/class-gated. Even romanced, All New Faded for Her has a habit of not triggering when it should.
Okay, I'll put it down to approval for Blackwall. I guess he hated me exiling the wardens more than I thought. I thought I might be okay because heard a banter between Cass and him about Leliana knowing everybody's secrets.I think it's an approval thing. As far as Solas goes *shrug* I'm pretty sure he hated my first inquisitor more than my current one, and I got his quest the first time. Oh well, this PT is almost at an end.
Oh? That's interesting, I don't think I've ever heard that particular banter. I always wondered what happens if you don't do his quest but he stays on, though. But yes, a single "greatly disapproves" can mess up your chances of getting a couple of the Inner Circle quests late in the game, I think. Picky, picky group, aren't they? ![]()
Did you miss Measuring the Veil with him this PT, by chance? I wouldn't think it has anything to do with this one, but who knows.
