Lucy Cadash

I've been very busy. I decide to fight the Frostback dragon only to kill time so I can decide what to do next. Using my Charging Dwarf move, the dragon perished. Back at the tavern, I talk with Harding, Varric, Dagna and the bartender. It was nice to sit with my kind instead of the others. I should get the carta to help kick everyone out of Skyhold and use this place as our new headquarters. That sounds awesome. I could be the leader. Maybe later. I have to deal with this Corypheus character.

After collecting all the shards from the Hinterlands and Storm Coast, I head to the Forbidden Oasis. Hello again Scout Harding. Its nice to see you. Turns out these shards open special doors to some temple. I feel funny after opening each door. Got some nice goodies. Still need to collect more shards to open the other doors.

I head to Hissing Wastes. Its nice to see statues of dwarfs as we walk around the area. You see that humans, elves and qunari? The dwarfs know how to build and sculpture. So put that in your pipe and smoke it. Ha.

I enter the tombs and collect some really nice stuff. Cool. Varric doesn't like being in the tombs. What a wimp. Ok. Back to Skyhold

I craft myself a very strong greatsword and an axe for Cassandra. For a human, she's fights very well. I also craft some nice looking armor for myself. I should pose for Armor magazine.

We head to Emprise du Lion. A lot of snow. I hate snow. Suck it up Lucy. I can do this. We fight some red templars. That red lyrium really messed them up. Yuck. Varric keeps reminding everyone not to touch the stuff. Yes mother.

Find a place called the Cradle of Sulevin. Woah, woah, woah. What the heck is that thing? I think I just crapped my pants. Damn. That creature has some kind of hand that reaches out and grabs you and then pulls you to it. Crap. Run. Oh crap. I need to settle down. Remember I'm the charging dwarf. Here goes. Haha. It worked. And that was just one. Oh crap. Stay focused Lucy. We fight 3 more of those creatures. Good thing is we find some nice goodies and 4 pieces of a broken sword. Dagna should be able to fix this. Cool. It will give me a reason to see her again

I was able to get 3 fade-touched silverite within a couple of minutes when gathering material in the area where the 3 dragons are. Cool.

So I'm about to finish my Knight-Enchanter playthrough and there's one dragon I want to kill before ending the playthrough but I'm feeling particularly lazy.

I kamikaze CHAAAAARGE the dragon only to have my allies die within a few dozen seconds. Like I said I'm feeling rather lazy so rather than cast the Resurgence button that's RIGHT THERE, I decide to solo him like I've read people have done here. It was easy spamming spirit blade and barrier but it took forever.

So today I learned that people who solo games with a Knight-Enchanter are infinitely more patient than me and I'll never do that again.

Huh....well, that sucks if true. :(  Can't say I noticed if they were both the same though. I guess I'll create another dwarf and see if I can get the other voice to work. Weird.

Yep, very weird and the only reason my Cadash has Alix' voice. Sumalee would have been the better choice for a dwarf, in my opinion.

My female dwarf has her strength at 105. Does the extra 5 make a difference?

I think you got my share this time :P

Are the stats capped at 100? I picked up that Sulevin Blade yesterday and gave it to Bull, and I'm planning on my dwarf using it. Not only is there a +42 strength bonus, but it looks badass.

I just removed that from my post since I answered my own question a moment ago. The extra strength does make a difference

What I did was I removed the headgear that had 6 strength lowering the number to 99. It also lowered my attack from 73% to 70% and lowered my guard damage bonus from 95% to 89%

To answer the question, no it doesn't cap at 100. It will go over 100 that's how I knew I had 105.

Just made an elven warrior. Slightly modified one of the presets but kept the default name, though I wish I'd named him "Stickly" because, well... that is what he is. Starting with sword-and-board but will flip to two-handed weapons after I spec (into Reaver). Will be fun to watch this little twig of a man reap destruction on the battlefield with a big sword/axe/maul. ^^

I created a new dwarf and, rather than actually toggle the voice option, I just used "test voice" when I started and again right before hitting "confirm." It is the correct voice in-game this time, so I guess I will use this version of Neralah Cadash.

Now I have to kill that stupid pride demon again. I'm starting this run on hard; we'll see how long it lasts.

Cool. I wondered if, even though the stat goes over 100, whether the effect bonuses went any higher once it did... like, for example, 100 gives 70%, but is 70% the max no matter how far over 100 you go. Now we know :)

Cadash stood aside the rightful ruler,Gaspard, as he gave a fine speech to the people of the Winter Palace. He knew that he would be the right man to aid the inquisition and Orlais in the time to come. Cadash retired to balcony to be greeted by Lady Morrigan. She pledged her alliance to him, because Gaspard really didn't trust her. As usual, Cadash used his charming wits with Lady Morrigan.

The night ended on a rather swell note, even if Cadash felt bad about letting Celene get killed. Lady Pentaghast danced the night away with Master Cadash, and in that moment, he forgot about everything bad in the world.

I'm looking forward to my next game, where I've got a world state with Loghain in Stroud's place. Seems kinda funny that I'm trying to get Loghain into a game before Alistair, since I definitely preferred the latter over the former, but... oh well, I think I've got an Alistair world state ready for the game after next, heh.
Apologies if I haven't 'quoted' properly - never done it before as don't often post but I really like this thread! Anyway, my first PT had Alistair as Hawke's Warden chum. Its good and I love Alistair but, my goodness, it makes that decision in the Fade really difficult! I think I made the wrong decision too - so I'm planning another human male playthrough at some point to correct some of the mistakes Huon Trevelyan (my only finished PT so far) made! I can't believe how much I missed with Huon - he never completed quite a lot of the inner circle quests and never even visited Emprise du Lion or Hissing Wastes! I know I could go back to him even though the main story is over but I'm nor sure that I want to and besides, I have several other Inkys on the go to do all that stuff!

No worries. I've had my issues with the forum format too *cough*hid this entire topic*cough* I suspect it will be an ongoing thing for me ;)

I think if you went back to those areas post-ending some of quest stuff would be unavailable anyway. I know a lot of the inner circle stuff disappears.

thanks for the slight approval Viv - ungrateful besom

I think that might be the best insult I've ever heard!

I'm hearing it in Wynne's voice too, with that face she makes when you ask her about griffons.

I just loooooved teasing Wynne about Griffons. Everything after that.

Wynne: I'm making lunch.

HoF: does it have griffons in it?

Wynne: I'm going to wash my hair.

HoF: does it have griffons in it?

I think Wynne was eventually up for a little herocide. Had to get her back somehow for questioning, well, everything. :D

We haven't done much today, apart from Skyhold exploration. One day, I will actually see everything this place has to offer (only just discovered this customisable tower on my last playthrough). And I had no idea there was a dusty library down in the castle bowels!

Adaar's done the rounds talking to her companions post-Haven. Vivienne was surprisingly tender about Adaar’s guilty feelings, Blackwall wanted to go all kamikaze on Coryfish, Cassandra was threatening bodily harm to Varric, and Cole needed to be recruited again. Everyone's surprised that he's a spirit, even though he was literally inside Adaar's head. Maybe her friendship circle is just pretty tame, but she's never met a normal person who can do that before.

Anywho, it’s quite clear that scene wasn’t designed with a Qunari Inquisitor in mind, because I didn’t see Adaar’s full face once during the whole interaction.
Spoiler
Really captures the gravitas of the moment, don’t you think?

Shortly afterwards, it was time to meet Varric’s old chum, a moment I’ve been waiting three playthroughs for. She was a bit of an arse in DA2. Rude, impatient, fierce. Now she's mostly just glum. Still a bit truer to form than my sarcastic Hawkes, who've become quite bleak and bitter. Perhaps that's just the effect of Loghain's charming company. I bet he's a riot at parties. They did pull out a bit of humour in the Fade though (who doesn't enjoy joking about the Maker's bosom?) Tried very hard to recreate Hawke, and I think it's turned out ok-ish. I decided to hold off on giving her toxic-spill eyes this time.
Spoiler

Varric's reader-base is also expanding. He really should thank Cassandra.
Spoiler
For the sake of my delicate mind, I really hope that 'smutty literature' is not so smutty.
Speaking of reading - so far, Cass, Dorian, Cole, Vivienne and Iron Bull have all admitted to reading Varric’s books at some point. I’m starting to wonder if there’s a secret book club going on and Inky isn’t ever invited. Especially with that book stash in Skyhold... If someone's failed to invite Adaar to a book club, she'll be very disappointed. Just because she has horns and lights people on fire, she can't enjoy a bit of badfic now and then?

I have to wonder what Aveline thinks of Swords & Shields, given that it's undoubtedly her face on the cover. I hope Varric thanked Isabela for the friend-fiction inspiration!

After this, we need to go and make Adaar a Knight-Enchanter. No doubt Cass will be pleased that she doesn't have to carry the team anymore. On a side note, I'm wondering if she or Cullen carried Adaar in from the blizzard, or if they had to run back and fetch a druffalo.

I'm having trouble with my dw rogue - Deosil. I thought it would take some time to get used to the melee after mages and archers, but honestly. The amount of times she is stabbing thin air is ridiculous. I usually keep one finger on the kill mouse button and one on walk, but that still doesn't mean she'll stay on target. So, I'm now having to pause the game all the time in order to obtain a target and then re-obtain the target.

Any tips would be welcome because I like this kid. At the moment Solas is pc in fight situations which is not me getting used to melee. ;)

I also made her some cool daggers. At first they were named 'la cerf agile' and 'le renard subtil' (Last of the Mohicans), then I thought, no and made more which I called Fred and Ginger 'cause they are poetry in motion and the whole fighting/dancing thing.

I found melee a bit of a chore, too. Knight-enchanter's spirit blade is the same. You have to get up close and personal to the baddies. Takes some getting used to, but the practice I had with the K-E will (hopefully) serve me well in my next game.

Just checking. My world state at the moment is mage HoF (snicker) in relationship with warden Alistair (sigh  ). Should this not mean that Hawke's warden friend is Alistair and not Stroud, or do we meet Big Al at Adamant?

In theory, it should be Alistair in the Western Approach and Adamant, and Crestwood too, for that matter. I dunno though. I thought I had my current world state set up for Loghain but I messed up somewhere and got Stroud instead. Hoping to correct that next game.

My human mage Miranda scouted out the Forbidden Oasis, completing all the quests there she could find, closed all the rifts and then spent all the shards she had gathered from The Hinterlands and Storm Coast in the temple. After that she went to Redcliffe castle to take on Alexus and freed the mages. With the mages grateful for their new home at Haven, they went to the breach in the sky and closed it.

The party was cut short and rudely interrupted. :(

Now she's scurrying around Skyhold at a loss of what to do next. So many directions she is being pulled. But she did find time to get her romance with Blackwall secured, including a little trip of just her and him to the Storm Coast.

That's what it means. Unless Alistair is King or executed, he will show up in Crestwood.

I've just gained access to the judgment feature.

So, I immediately tried it out without saving the game. And... I'm really disappointed that you can only make Alexius tranquil with a mage Inquisitor. That sucks, it would've been the perfect punishment.

I'd imagined you would simply send him to someone that can perform the ritual/spell.

Not sure what I'm gonna do with him now. Sending him to prison? Too risky. Execution? Makes more sense, but I would feel like a dick since my Inquisitor had comforted Dorian with the notion that the Alexius from the present still could be redeemed.

I think I left him in prison. I can't remember exactly but I know I didn't make him tranquil. Tranquility just seems like the worst fate I can imagine.

I'd say it's relative.

With tranquility, Alexius is unable to become a threat ever again. At the same time, he gets to remain alive and free.

And with his emotions gone, the pain of his son's death won't haunt him anymore.
