@Atreiya: Congrats on the first complete mosaic! I was excited for my first one too.
Let's see, what did I do yesterday? I recreated my Neralah Cadash so she had the right voice, and she doesn't look quite so pale out in the light of day as the first one did. I kind of went overboard with the purple make-up and tattoo, so I'm looking forward to finding purple metal to use for armor. Hey, even rough and tough Carta thugs like to look nice.
Josephine was a bit shocked that Nery openly admitted to working for the Carta, not to mention telling her what she actually did for them.
After Nery did what she could to seal the breach and gained a modicum of trust from Cassandra as a result, Cassandra declared the Inquisition open for business. Nery's first task was to find a Mother Giselle in a place called the Hinterlands. They really call it that? Most people who live in boofoo don't officially call it "boofoo"....it's just a derogatory label. But nope, they really do. So, with Cass, an odd dwarf named Varric, and a mysterious elf named Solas, off she went in search of.....stuff.
And stuff she found. More rifts like the ones at Haven, spouting demons if you got too close; bandits; more-than-bandits; mages and templars running wild. It was a mess, and normal people, as usual, were caught in the middle. Not that she'd every actually cared about "normal" people before, but what was going on now was chaos for no reason, and no one was benefitting except whoever was behind the chaos. That was why she was at the Conclave in the first place. Her business was being disrupted and she was sent to find out why. She might never return to the Carta, not after this, but they were her family, so she would do what she could to ensure they survive. If that means being this Herald thing and closing rifts all over the known world, well that's what she would do.
After meeting with Giselle and setting up a few camps in the area, the group went back to Haven to plan their next move. They decided the best course of action was to go to Val Royeaux and attempt to show the remaining grand clerics that Nery wasn't a monster but just a person, one who could help them. Nery wasn't too fond of this idea, naturally (she always hated being the bait) but at least she wouldn't be alone there. The meeting was disrupted by a surprise appearance by Lord Seeker Lucius and his templars. The clerics thought they were there to help them but that was not the case. Nery tried to convince him to help the Inquisition seal the breach but he would have none of it, declaring himself and his order the true new power to be reckoned with before turning away and leading his troops to parts unknown.
So much for that idea. Templars gone, clerics broken. Now what? An arrow and a messenger, both with information. Interesting. After finding the clues the arrow message mentioned, Nery and the others were about to leave the city when they were approached by Grand Enchanter Fiona, leader of the mage rebellion. She invited them to meet with her at Redcliffe. Since the clerics and templars were lost, for the moment, that might be the way to go. It's too early to tell yet. Nery isn't too fond of magic (though that barrier thing Solas does is helpful) but sometimes you don't get to choose your allies (hello Inquisition).
Before heading back to Haven, Nery and crew followed up on their two leads from the marketplace. One led to a dark warehouse where some noble apparently was sure he had caused the Inquistion all kinds of trouble in locating him. Uh, yeah, whatever. Before he could say much more, he had an arrow through his throat, courtesy of Sera, an even odder elf than Solas. She (and her "friends"?) wanted to join up to help the little people. Guess that's as good a reason as any. Everyone wants things to be normal again, so welcome aboard! Next stop was a frilly noble mansion, home of the mage Vivienne. She also wanted to join, though she was very evasive as to exactly why, but Nery figured she could use the help regardless. It's not like she has to be best friends with her, right?
Back to Haven for another strategy session. Afterwards, Leliana mentioned that all the Wardens of both Ferelden and Orlais had disappeared. That's a bit weird, yes? She asked Nery to track down one that her agents had heard might be in the Hinterlands, a Warden named Blackwall. So off they went, back to boofoo, and there he was. Dark hair, dark beard and mustache, blue eyes. Nice. Neralah never had time for any sort of relationship in the Carta; too likely to end badly, or prematurely, but something about this Blackwall guy is making her rethink that choice. She'll have to chat with him a bit more once they get back to Haven.
