Hey, that was really good
I enjoyed reading about Alistair's kids and their different personalities. Can't wait to see what Dane gets up to.
Thank you Spork ![]()

Thank you Spork
You're welcome and thanks for sharing it with us.
Ooooh, Varric, that's just... mean. It was his fault Cassandra couldn't find Hawke! Maybe storytellers forget their own involvement in their stories sometimes.
Pretty funny stuff on the Golden Halla. Bowling it right over on a giant nug, then having it lead you on a chase for awhile. *sigh* elves. I haven't been able to bring myself to harm the halla since I accidentally (no really) killed one in my first game while chasing wolves on the Plains. Nobody in the group was happy with me for that one so I figured, that's it I'll leave 'em alone.
Both times I've played Josie's personal quest I've had Leliana help out. I wasn't romancing Josie so I figured what the hell. But when I do the Josie romance game, I'll do things her way too.
Ah yes, 'accidentally'. ![]()
Hah, I did feel rather bad for killing the poor halla (less so after it gave us a run-around!), but I'm sure there will be one Inquisitor who likes shiny halla hides more than elves.
Josie's plan does have a potentially funny scene to get a judge's favour. But other than that, Leliana's route seems better. Knives before niceness. ![]()
@gottaloveme - I enjoyed the fanfic. Stories take on a much different light when there are children involved. I really need to get back to "GW honor" but I need to retcon a few chapters to replace Mei with Kieran. I just need to finish that beast so I can write the Solas/Lavellan post Inquistion tale that keeps bubbling around in my head (with a side dish of Abelas and an OC) - no happy forever after ending to that one though.
.In your last playthrough you were probably higher leveled?
I noticed this at once. If you are low level you only harvest 1 item at a time. Higher level you can get up to 8 items at a time (dawnstone, bloodstone, silverite - a bit lower for everite).
I quoted you again just to confirm that you're correct. I made it to level 16 and was able to grab more than one everite. Now I can spend less time gathering the materials and more time killing the baddies

I made yet another video. I'm still unsure what to do on my next playthrough. I've played female elves to death, so maybe I should try something different. A human? Dwarf? Qunari? A male character!? Oh... decisions, decisions ![]()

I better hurry my current game so I can watch these videos
I'll weigh in on your next PT with two thoughts:
Dwarf inquisitor: Haven't finished my PT yet, but... totally worth it.
Cassandra romance: Totally worth it.

Just opened the flood release valves on the Crestwood Dam, and the Northern Hunter did a fly-by directly over our heads as we were heading back from the Rusted Horn to pick our way down to old Crestwood.
We were kinda just at the point-of-no-return between the old tavern and Caer Bronach when we heard the thunderous slow flapping of her wings as she approached, and her roar as she passed by. She sounded pi**ed at being woken up, and I thought for sure we were gonna get zapped!
That never happened in my previous two games. it was glorious.
Anyways, Briala's locket. The part where you fight Venatori agents is your only chance to get it, isn't it?
I'd like to know this as well. After failing to reconcile the two of them in my previous games, I really want to make that work this time.

It's one of the reasons why that quest is full of BS.
While you're in that area, your court approval points drop quickly. Of course you wouldn't calmly check what each room contains.
Countdown timers in these kinds of quests is a peeve of mine, for sure. if they were to one day patch that out I wouldn't complain, but I haven't had a problem with maintaining a high enough approval to allow for a little bit of exploration.
I saved every single halla statue I could find, not using them unless absolutely necessary. There aren't enough halla statues to open every single door. Be sure to search every nook and cranny when off exploring and you should have enough to open the vault in Celene's bedroom and find Briala's locket. I learned not to worry about court approval. It's easy to gain back just from dancing with Florienne. On my last playthrough, I finished the quest with almost 100 court approval as a Dalish mage (so she started with an approval drop).
Speaking of halla statues, be careful enough with them and you could have enough to open the door in the final area to find this guy XD

Okay that's it, I'm getting all dem statues this time.
Has anyone seen what happens if you get kicked out of the Winter Palace for reaching 0 court approval? Is there an actual cutscene or just a "game over" screen? I'm curious to test this out myself... for science, of course ![]()
Just dropping by quickly, but I believe 0 court approval is just a game over screen. I've always managed to get 100 and didn't feel like standing around waiting for 0 so I don't know about the text, but this would be the image:
And yes, I always miss out on talking to Varric when I get the guy in Celene's room, since there aren't enough halla statues ![]()
Aw, that's too bad. I'd have loved a funny cutscene of my Quizzy getting her butt kicked out of the Winter Palace
. I'll test it out anyway since I have a save at the beginning of the Winter Palace.

I don't know what I did wrong (or didn't do) but I found the locket and there was still no reconciliation. All I got was: "you're exiled, not executed."

Just a short notice: It's not that I don't care about this thread anymore. It's just that I (once again) started with ME... and we finally clicked. I'm not giving up on that now. Shepard's out
If you're there no reason you can't come back here and say hi ![]()

My Maryann is quite attracted to the bearded one so cannot watch your vid yet.
But I will ![]()
Emprise Du Lion, level 21 on nightmare.
I brought along Vivienne, Cole and Iron Bull and started the Imshael quest. I cleared out the first red Templar camp and there was some silverite nearby. I picked it up and it said FADE TOUCHED SILVERITE!
. So without progressing any further, I backtracked to Skyhold to craft some armour for Vivienne. She should now be invincible. The giants on the way up to Imshael were tough so I did sneak by (might as well put the assassin training to work
) Eventually, the inquisitor met Imshael and defeated him (The inquisitor doesn't deal with demons). I brought Cole along just because I liked the idea of a Spirit vs Demon confrontation.
I then completed most of the side-quests such as rifts, shards, Templar captains and releasing slaves. I then took the party to confront the Hivernal dragon. The dragon fight itself went smoothly and took me about 5 mins to finish. The most shocking thing that happened in the fight is Cole delivered the killing blow (and it was a backstab!
). I then went back down the stairs and followed the path round. There were some red Templars near a tower including two behemoths and everyone died (I am lucky that an autosave happened after the dragon fight).
I went back to Skyhold to judge Poulin and the inquisitor decided to take all of her money. Not a popular move as everyone disapproved this
.
I went back to Emprise and will try to fight the other two dragons tomorrow.
I don't know what I did wrong (or didn't do) but I found the locket and there was still no reconciliation. All I got was: "you're exiled, not executed."
.
Did you make a couple of savegames just in case?
Let's say you have at least 85% in Court Approval, and did not kill Florianne.
You also have evidence in Briala's locket.
You made Floriannes contact (at the last rift in the courtyard) your agent so he will testify.
You also forced the guy in Celene's bedroom to testify (- 25 in Court Approval)
You did remember to talk to both Briala and Celene about the locket before you met Florianne in the courtyard?
Did you toss all 15 coins in the well? And did you return to Leliana and handed over all the gossip and evidence you collected before you went through the final door to meet Florianne and the rift?
One last thing:
You have to be very aware in the final dialogue between Celene, Briala and Gaspard. Everything happens very fast. There is a point where you might chose a wrong answer.
Always praise Briala as first priority and you should be on the right track.
Show the evidence that nails Gaspard. The point where Celene takes over is that particular moment where you have to be awake. The dialogue option says something like: "It was all Briala's efforts."
A second later you get a second option where you have to praise Briala: What about Briala's reward?" Grab this one.
I did this several times. It's my favourite map. And I finally got it right.
