I went back and managed to get kicked out of the Winter Palace (rather quickly). I just got a game over screen, but I did piece together my Dalish elf failing at the Game in a video
. Josephine Greatly Disapproves.

Did you make a couple of savegames just in case?
Let's say you have at least 85% in Court Approval, and did not kill Florianne.
You also have evidence in Briala's locket.
You made Floriannes contact (at the last rift in the courtyard) your agent so he will testify.
You also forced the guy in Celene's bedroom to testify (- 25 in Court Approval)
You did remember to talk to both Briala and Celene about the locket before you met Florianne in the courtyard?
Did you toss all 15 coins in the well? And did you return to Leliana and handed over all the gossip and evidence you collected before you went through the final door to meet Florianne and the rift?
One last thing:
You have to be very aware in the final dialogue between Celene, Briala and Gaspard. Everything happens very fast. There is a point where you might chose a wrong answer.
Always praise Briala as first priority and you should be on the right track.
Show the evidence that nails Gaspard. The point where Celene takes over is that particular moment where you have to be awake. The dialogue option says something like: "It was all Briala's efforts."
A second later you get a second option where you have to praise Briala: What about Briala's reward?" Grab this one.
I did this several times. It's my favourite map. And I finally got it right.
I'm a compulsive saver on this quest since I hate losing approval for getting lost in the stupid hallways.
Yes to the first 3, no to the last; I thought leaving him like that was funnier.
Was unable to talk to Celene on the balcony....never had a talk icon with her.
Did not find all the coins or secrets (doubt I ever will) but I did toss/turn in what I had before doing the rift battle.
Oh well, there's always next game. Besides, I hate the idea of Briala getting the credit for all the stuff I did.
The most important thing was I got my dance with Blackwall. ![]()
Alright, finally finished Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts. That was one long ass quest.
Just one question, though. If you make Florianne the Inquisition's jester, where can she be found?
Florienne will be standing near one of the doors off to the side of the throne (either the one to the Quarters or off to the War Room, I can't remember which). She'll be dressed up as a harlequin and even share some, ahem, kind words with your Quizzy
I can't remember if you have to leave Skyhold and then come back first, but I found her standing next to the door in the main hall that leads to the war council room.Alright, finally finished Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts. That was one long ass quest.

Finished up the ball, saved Celene and exiled (I think) Gaspard. I guess that means Briala got the axe? Oh well. Afterwards, Nery danced the night away with Blackwall, and damn but didn't he look fine in that Inquisition formal-wear.
I don't even remember what I did with Florianne now....oh wait, I made her an agent. After running around talking to everyone about what happened, and having the war table session hijacked by Morrigan who then took her through a magic mirror, Nery headed for the stables. Blackwall was.....in a mood to say the least. Part of me actually thought this was hilarious because I was just thinking yesterday about who was broodier: Blackwall or Fenris. And then I got this dialogue:
And then Nery woke up into a different nightmare where she finally found out Blackwall's big secret. And she was mad, and hurt, and she lashed out at him. But she couldn't leave him to be executed so she used her power and influence to get him out of prison and back to Skyhold. Nery gave him his freedom and, after a very public make up session (there most definitely was a private one later off screen), got back to work.
Next stop: Emerald Graves.
I can highly recommend talking Cole to Crestwood for anyone who hasn't yet done so. He's got some neat things to say at different times, about the spirits and the undead, and... sh*t I dunno, maybe he's like that everywhere you take him and I just didn't know it, heh.
I'm so glad I set up my world state to have Loghain be Hawke's warden buddy instead of Stroud this time. It's kinda weird because I could barely stand to listen to the guy whenever I played Origins. I just wanted to end him for all the evil things he did.
But he's a different person now. He definitely seems mellower, or maybe it's just that he's ten years older and has been both fighting The Calling, and on the run from his fellow Wardens for awhile. I dunno, but I gotta say I almost want to go back and play Origins again. This line, when Dofni asked about Warden Commander Clarel..."I, more than anyone, know the cost of too much dedication." Bam. Awesome.
After that meeting, we've traveled a bit, killed a bit -- the wyvern was my toughest fight yet, even more so than the three great bears in Hafter's Woods -- and now we've just arrived at the Flooded Caves. Time to let the sun shine in.
EDIT: Update: While the rest of the gang were busy doing their thing against some undead, Dofni just used Grappling Chain on a despair demon. Yanked him close, kicked him in the cloak and then ended him with a Mighty Blow. HA! Take that, ya flyin' b*****d! ![]()

To talk to Celene on the balcony, you first have to get the scene where her assistants come to talk to you (should happen when you go into the garden). You then have to go talk to the assistants again (they're stood near Cullen) and tell them you have something for Celene. Briala will then be on the adjacent balcony to show it to her.
Don't know if it helps, but I shared my 'evidence' and blackmail stuff with her too. The final dialogue is the tricky thing. You have to focus on saying that Briala helped, instead of saying Gaspard is guilty. And when the final choice comes up, don't support executing or exiling Gaspard, pick the "what about Briala's reward" option.
The Game is so convoluted! I got this result on my first playthrough via sheer luck. Had to look up a guide to figure out how to replicate it in future! Bloody Orlesians.

I especially love Cole's attempt to do his compassion thing to Command. And the orange ones that are floating around in the caves. He's definitely different to the other spirits we've met. More sweet, less stick-up-butt.

Yup, I don't remember exactly how it goes, but Command tells him to go away and he apologizes. It made me smile. And just the different insights he gives, like when talking to Judith, the naturalist. She's going on about what she does there; helping the villagers and gathering herbs, and he says, "You hate it here, all that rooting around in the dirt." And she says, "well that's... heh... you're a very observant person."
Today, Dofni went fishing.
Back home at Skyhold, fresh off the quest to deliver Crestwood from the evil that men -- namely the Mayor of Crestwood -- do, she took a tour of the place. Repairs and renovations were coming along nicely, and Skyhold was definitely starting to look and feel like a home. Her home. It had good bones. She thought it funny how things like that never mattered to her before. She supposed that being in charge made a difference.
First she went to the tavern and met the new bartender, Cabot. A dwarf with a chip on his shoulder. Wonders never cease. All in all she preferred Flissa, but some matters can't be helped. He poured her an ale and she sat down near the minstrel for awhile. Glad to see she survived Haven, anyway. Then she had a talk with Krem about mercenary life (side note: so much Shepard in Krem's voice), then she noticed Iron Bull had found a comfortable chair over by a window but he didn't have much to say, other than, "good to see you, boss." Hmm.
Up on the second floor, she met a young man named Sutherland, who seemed very eager to please. She'd have to find him something to do. (side note: Still dunno why Sutherland never showed up in Harold's game. pretty sure I started things the same way in both games.
Oh well. he's here now) Then she had a talk with Sera, who asked a favor; she wanted Inquisition troops to make an appearance at a dispute between a couple nobles fighting over some land. Dofni knew how important it was to not upset the little people (side note: pun not intended
), so she agreed.
Up in the rafters sat her favorite stealthy companion, the enigmatic spirit of compassion, who demonstrated how he helped people feel better, and then made them forget they ever met him. Dofni thought that must be kinda lonely, but he seemed to be happy about helping, so she left it alone, for now. From where Cole left her, it was a short walk to visit her military advisor, Cullen, who revealed he was fighting his addiction to lyrium. He'd already proven himself a capable commander so she figured he knew himself better than anyone, and if he wanted to try and kick the habit, who was she to say otherwise?
Then she made her way to the stables, stopping briefly to meet a couple of new, very expensive, merchants. Holy crap. ![]()
Blackwall was in the stables, carving a gryphon from a chunk of wood. He seemed a little less duty-bound and official, and a little more open to talk. She'd never let him know how much she liked him like this, or what it did to her when he grinned. Well, maybe one day she'd let him know
he told her a story about how he'd met a chevalier at the Grand Tourney when he was a young man, and the knight helped him win that tourney, at the expense of his own glory. Blackwall had never forgotten that, but said he wouldn't change the way things had worked out. Here is where Dofni decided to do a little fishing, and asked him if he felt that way because they would never have met if things had been different back then. Blackwall agreed, staring intently into her eyes. Maker's Breath. She'd have to go fishing more often.
But she decided not to push it any further than that, and paid a visit to her bald elf friend instead. Strange guy, but he'd proven himself a capable mage in Crestwood, and he seemed to get along well with Cole. Dofni was glad for that because she didn't think anyone else would be able to. Solas took her on a trip to Fade-Haven, which was a little disconcerting, and even more disconcerting was waking up in her own bed a moment later. After that, she wasn't as sure of this guy as she thought she might initially be.
Then she paid a visit to Josephine, and they talked a bit about Haven, and how important it was that Skyhold be seen as a place of strength and safety to any visiting emissaries and VIPs. Dofni figured Josephine was best left to deal with all of that without any interference, so she left her to it, and summoned the war council instead. The war table was lit up like a Christmas tree again. *sigh* She'd be glad when the Inquisition was established as a power in Thedas and didn't have to take every single job that fell in their laps as a means to prove they were a power in Thedas. First thing she did was invite three warrior specialists to the council in order to find out which one she wanted to learn some new tricks from. This should be fun. Then she gave each of her advisors something else to do and left them to it.
Back outside, she went to talk to Cassandra, who said she'd like help in finding some of her old Seeker buddies. Okay, we can do that. In all honesty she'd rather be out killing something anyway, so this was a good excuse. However, she still had to go talk with Madame de Fer, the charming new mage recruit from Tevinter, Varric, and Skyhold's resident spymaster before she could even think of going out and killing something. And, oh yeah, the trainers, too.
Cassandra --> Targets same as controlled character
Iron Bull --> Defends Cassanda, Block and Slash (or something) set to preferred. Dunno how the latter is working out yet.
Vivienne (later Dorian) --> Defends Iron Bull or Cassandra. Still seeing what's working best.
I definitely need to work out something with this. At the moment, everyone targets the same as Adaar, but she's a mage, so I like to have her doing area-damage or specific mage-y things (like dispel/barriers/elemental weaknesses). I'd rather have Varric targeting ranged enemies, Cassandra targeting the toughest enemy, and Cole just helping her out. Not sure how to achieve it though.
Maybe if I set Varric to protect Cass? Then maybe he'd go attack archers that are shooting her. Unless they shoot other people. Hmm...
I'd start the battle off with a single basic attack the get your party's targeting system into place.
The party 'wakes up' when the first attack hits, be it yours or an enemy attacking you.
So:
Cass --> same as PC
Varric --> defend Cassandra
Cole --> defend Cassandra (or Varric. I'd go for Varric)
To get Varric to specifically attack the ranged enemies you need to control him manually though.
Thanks, I'll try this. Heh, I think I can already hear Varric grumbling at having to defend Cassandra. Snarking with every bolt he fires. ![]()
He'll just write about her in his next bookThanks, I'll try this. Heh, I think I can already hear Varric grumbling at having to defend Cassandra. Snarking with every bolt he fires.

Cassandra should write a book about Varric
First time siding with mages (always sided with templars last 2 playthroughs). Time traveled with Dorian thanks to Alexius and was hoping for a fun easter egg in which they would end up in the mass effect universe. With Dorian's personality, I think it would've made for a very entertaining experience. Fun, lighthearted, future DLC perhaps? Wishful thinking.. ![]()
Also, pissed off Vivienne to the point that she decided to troll me by moving around my furniture. If only I could take away her balcony and put her in the basement next to the prison cages. Or maybe relocate Florianne next to her..?
Cassandra should write a book about Varric
