There is a reason for the game having quadcores as minimum requirements ...

In case you can't see the forest because of all those trees:

THE GAME DOESN'T RUN ACCEPTABLY ON DUALCORES!

I'm running it on a single core (3 gig) with a supposedly substandard graphics card (GTX 580) and it runs just fine (about 40 FPS).

So I have no clue why folks with multiple cores are having problems.

Well, you know what they say, wish in one hand and poo in the other and see which one fills up first...

They've already stated that the mimum specs require a quad-core processor, so I highly doubt they're going to patch for dual cores. Shame as my laptop has a dual core as well. I have a PS4, so it's not that big an issue for me, but I'm sure it's annoying for those with only a PC and one with dual cores.

Depends on the definition of quadcore. My i3 3220 is  physically a dual core, but  - thanks to hyperthreading  - has 4 logical threads, so it can run DA:I on high graphic settings :P

So the gist I've gotten from a couple posts here is that it's designed for quad-core CPUs, but it will work on some single and dual-core processors -if- those processors are designed a certain way? Wonder if it would actually work on my laptop then. Hmmm. Have it on PS4, but if I still have this computer when the game gets an extremely good sale, I may actually try it.

What's your processor? I've heard of some people having success with dual-cores, but never a single-core.

Try it now. With Origin you've got 24 hours to return it if it won't play, and that should be plenty of time to see if it works.

Yes, because the game requires at least four instances to run. That can be a native quadcore, or any other CPU that can handle the same number of threads or more. But I no longer emphasize that for every single time, especially for people whose original issues stems from the fact they didn't read the system requirements. It's hardly worth the effort when by all likelyhood, they wouldn't read my explanation too.

What CPU do you have? At least for Intel, literally every contemporary CPU should qualify and if you have an A8 CPU from AMD, it should work too. The only thing you'd have to check is how fast those are running as laptop CPUs are running on much lower frequencies than desktop CPUs.

I highly doubt his comment is legitimate. People require software to practically bruteforce the game to run on dualcores and get performances measured around 10-15 fps. I do not see any singlecore CPU running this game. The claim is even absurd enough that I'd doubt any evidence rbought forward that wasn't intensely screened for manipulation or fabrication.
