One thing I'm particularly enjoying about DA:I is the ability to craft my own weapons and armor.
...or, rather, I'm TRYING to enjoy it. There are a few issues.
When purchasing a schematic, why is there no way to see what the damage or armor ratings of the finished product would be? Displaying a whole list of daggers that are all the same tier but with no way to see what makes them any different from each other besides required materials is not very helpful. Ditto with armors. You don't even get to see what they look like, so can't make cosmetic choices. Only seeing the material slots does not help one make an effective choice.
And speaking of armor... would it be so hard to make it possible to see on the schematic whether or not a piece of armor has arm and leg slots? It has reached the point where I've started quicksaving before crafting a piece of armor just so that I could find out whether or not it was moddable. Some of them you can tell just by looking at the model, but others are not so obvious. And if you're purchasing the schematic, of course, you can't tell at all unless you make wild guesses from the name.
Using crafted armor/weapons instead of drops/purchases can make your people insanely powerful, especially if you spend a little time learning where everything spawns and strip-mining the living daylights out of it. (Sooo much easily-mined Dawnstone in the Emprise...) But when getting to the higher-end schematics and still being blind to which produces what actual result, it merely causes insanity.
(...doesn't mean I'm going to stop enjoying the living daylights out of the game, mind you.)
