Pointless speculation of course, but I think I would have made a 2-handed warrior with stealth and backstabs who could throw knockout bombs and wear heavy armor. Or maybe a Shattermaul, a warrior with a giant hammer that freezes people and then proceed to break their icy skulls, while drinking frozen tempest ice flasks for extra shatteryness.

It's known that this game's development has been influenced to a notable degree by a certain other fantasy game that's about 3 years old and contains a bunch of dragons and arrows through knees ;) One of the cool things about that game is the freeform character development. I'm just wondering how this game would be with free skillpoint placement. I think it would be fun! Would have to open up manual attribute increase on level-up as well, but I don't  see a problem with that.

Or... maybe a tanky mage with a shield who specialize in taunting people into her fire traps. :D

Most (like 99,9%) would probably build something similar to Knight Enchanter / Arcane Warrior, but with more AOE and DoT based, to be even more immortal = Indestructible game-ruiner (like KE / AW are right now).

I would probably do a Double Dagger Reaver, or a 2H Flask Master, sans Thousand Cuts.

A Ninja. Close combat skills with a dash magic. The pose you strike after exiting fade step is perfect.

Using just warrior specializations, it could be cool to create a reaver which has skills and passives from the Champion specialization tree. Namely walking fortress and unyielding. With unyielding you can dragon rage away until you reach the 5% HP threshold, then dragon rage for almost another 5 seconds with your invulnerability. Then when unyielding is about to end, pop walking fortress for another 8 seconds of invulnerability, use even more dragon rage. So this nets you 13 seconds of dragon rage at 5% HP, which means massive damage. Once walking fortress is about to end pop a potion and/or devour.

Oh, and since you now have these abilities you can tank and DPS at the same time. In fact you want to tank since each hit while you're in walking fortress reduces your cooldowns (including those of unyielding and walking fortress if I'm not mistaken). So basically you take all the aggro, absorb a crapton of damage while immune, and hit like a truck by using dragon rage while at 5% HP.

What I know is you recover a portion of your stamina when you lose either Health, Barrier, or Guard when you have Warrior's Resolved. I don't know about the skill cool down though. But yeah, I haven't started with my game yet, but I was thinking along these lines with my Reaver. I will try to utilize the most accessible Guard Generating Skills from the Warrior Tree and keep it up to manage my Health Drop to trigger all the Reaver Passives.

Well the skill cooldown is from Walking Fortress (with upgrade) from the Champion tree.

This was all hypothetical as in-game we can only have one specialization. That said yes, keeping up barrier and guard while staying around 50% HP (or lower if you're skilled/bold) is ideal for Reavers.

Ah. Ok. I haven't checked out the Champ Tree. I'll leave that to Black Wall should I have the need for him in my playthrough. I would prefer Cassandra as my Tank.

The Shrike, from Hyperion:

Assuming you'd still need the appropriate weapon type to use a skill, I'd probably combine 2H tree for Whirlwind and Flow Of Battle, Tempest for Frost and Lightning Flasks, Artificer for Close Enough, Subterfuge for Knockout Powder and Mercy Killing, and Sabotage for Cheap Shot, plus lots of crit stacking, to try to get Lightning Flask duration > cooldown.  Any crits off Whirlwind would reduce cooldown by 1.5 seconds each, meaning I'd need to land about 20 whirlwind crits to get Lightning Flask ready again - if I just Flask of Frost and then Ride the Storm into Lightning, should be very doable.

I mean, it would be boring to actually play, I'd just enjoy the process of optimizing that would get me there.

2 handed warrior wearing medium armour, using S&S attack skills mashed with sublety, specialization as necormancer

This would be perfect for mobility and aoe dealing and crowd control

I wonder if there's going to be any mods that enable us to be free with the skill usage

So far there aren't any active mods, as modding with the system they used is a pain in the ass, even more so since they didn't include ANY mod assistance whatsoever. From what I've seen up until now, all people are doing is attempting to make the mods, and some have successfully made the meshes for armors from TERA Online as well as new hair meshes. As to when these will actually be put into the game and given out to the general population to use is yet unknown. I've heard rumor on those threads that changing actual specs within the game such as skills and such will be much more difficult, if at all possible, and right now they are solely focused on modding meshes and cosmetic things.
