Salutations all roleplayers!

To celebrate the coming holidays, we want to invite you all to take part in our recurring server and community initiative - the "Play-A-New-Character-Event".

During this event, everyone participating rolls up entirely new characters*, providing even terms for all in an exclusively low level environment that is the perfect setup for loads of satisfying, immersive, gothic horror roleplay. If you are looking for some of the best online roleplay has to offer, while meeting with new and old friends, this is the place to be!

The event will be running from December 19th (Friday) 2014 to January 2nd (Friday) 2015.

Expect a number of DM events and special occurrences to appear in game during the period, but we also invite you to use our forums for pre-planning things with other players.

To read more about this event, follow this link: http://www.nwnravenl...php?topic=38832

Looking forward to seeing you all,

- The Ravenloft POTM community and staff.

Is your serious hardcore horror story only roleplaying rule enforced for this event?

Hmm, I'm not sure if I understand. Could you elaborate?

*rewords above* Is this play a new character event going to be enforced horror story style, hardcore RP?

It depends on what you mean by that. Yes, people are expected to at all times act in character, and yes, we ask people to not play silly, joke or pun characters as that tends to disrupt the atmosphere (but a reasonable amount of in character humour and jesting is welcome).

On the other hand, we won't act "roleplay-police" and tell people whether their roleplay is sufficiently gothic horror. Casual roleplayers and people new to the concept are very welcome too, and you don't have to read a lot of background lore to take part (in fact, Ravenloft as a setting takes people in from all settings, so your character can come from just about where-ever you prefer).
