Yahtzee of "Zero Punctuation" has finally reviewed Dragon Age: Inquisition.  He's mostly positive, which is unusual for him.  He criticizes the graphics, but frankly I have to disagree.  I'll concede the point about the hair, but I've found everything else to be mind-blowingly beautiful.  I love watching my dishy Inquisitor in cutscenes in his hand-crafted sexy outfit, and the environments are astounding.

Yahtzee was previously complimentary of Dragon Age: Origins, though he was much tougher on Dragon Age II.  His usual M.O. is to totally shred games, so I'm pleased with what he has to say about BioWare's latest offering.

"Loading times are longer than the embarrassed silence after a loud fart in a church"  -  Yahtzee   :P

He's pretty much the only game reviewer I like nowadays.   Also couldn't have agreed with him more when he states that the Inquisitor is only the Inquisitor because he was the first guy there - needed a bit more of a reason to name that person as head of an organization.

I was simultaneously anticipating and dreading this review.  I love Yahtzee to death, but you're right in that he seemingly exists only to shine a spotlight on a game's flaw(s).  Sadly, I'm still on the last-gen console so I'll have to take your word for it that it's breathtaking, but even for the 360 it doesn't look that bad.  I'm of the school that graphics should enhance the game experience and not be the game experience and I believed Yahtzee felt somewhat the same way.  So hearing him knock a game's graphics did sound a little weird coming from him.

I'm playing DAI on a high end PC and the graphics are very very good imho, I dont know what version he reviewed though and I refuse to watch "review videos".

I dont think he was "mostly positive" as you said, OP.  For me, the message of his review is that DAI is an OK game and thats it.

I agree with all his points, DAI is a good game, but theres a lot of shortcomings.

After his "review" on Risen 3 which he clearly didn't play more than couple of hours I don't want to watch more.

I mean "fantasy commander Shepard"? Whatta joke.

Besides, he resides on Escapist, the famous 10/10 review score on both DA2 and DA3.

10/10. Peh!

I'm not saying the whole Escapist is garbage. Critical miss comic is a must read. And it nails stuff to the point. Like this strip:

I love Yahtzee because he is so adept at making fanboys stroke out when he "reviews" their game.

I don't like Yahtzee for actual critique, I just like him for the comedy, honestly. :S

I love his mention in the DA2 one about all the pointless combat thrown in at the last minute to please the ****head marketing department.

That's all anyone really watches him for.  That's why it's funny watching people wig out when he turns their sacred cow into hamburger.

I am? If finding his gimmick to be extremely tiresome equals being cool, I guess I'm one cool dude indeed.

That's certainly a main part of it but he's a really intelligent guy as well. Check out his Spec Ops the Line review or his Silent Hill 2 retrospective and I think this is evident.

He's got a point. We do need a "salvage equipment" thingy to just give us materials from useless equipment.

I watch Yahtzee for entertainment, but if I based my gaming purchases off his reviews I wouldn't buy any games. He knows that he's most funny when he's disparaging a game, so that's mostly what he does, but he only seems to half heartedly get around to mentioning things a game does right.
