What is the deal with the entry room in Zone 5? /Jerry Seinfeld

 

I've been in a number of groups that will stack up in the entryway no matter what enemy type we're facing. I gotta say, when you're fighting the demon commander - stacking up in an enclosed space is a bad idea. Even the Venatori commander teleports in and makes fire sprinklers, Red Templar commander saunters in and turns the group to julienne fries

 

Should there be an addendum "Leave when giant enemy crab arrives" or is this strategy not actually the most effective?

The problem is that when in PUG its hard to communicate anything and the entry is obvious - everything has to come through it. The arena where the banner is offers many tactical opportunities, but fighting there requires coordination, skill and communication. Tank should take the bosses to the grave in Hinterlands or something but 99% time I end up kiting them and when I kite I cant do damage and as you said there is no proper room to kite. Maybe there should be no entry room.

Archerwith the bow that has explode on kill 75% of weapon damage can clear things out pretty easily with long shot or full draw.

 

I have that bow and is seriously Huge damage im amazed how much damage this bow can do despite is just lvl 15.

Well, here comes the nerf to the phase 5 strategy.  A bioware employee trying to advise players to not stick to the rest area for "reasons" being met with a unanimous "no, rest area is by far the best strategy".  Fully expecting the rest room to be closed off somehow during the boss fight after the next patch or two.  Really hoping that there won't be a trend with patches/updates for this game where all you read is "nerf, nerf, nerf".

Necro and Elementalist are more CC than DPS imo, Reaver not DPS?  LMAO the Reaver doesn't even HAVE a taunt.

When in PuG, the starting area is easy to communicate. Trying to make people coordinate around the banner is suicide 90% of the time. And even then. With the demon commander, as long as you get one player to shut down the entrance through tanking or elementalisting, the boss can do whatever he wants, the other 3 can take care of it.

Im just going to put out there that i kited the demon commander with a level 1 templar yesterday without losing a single bar of health in the back of the entrance room. /humble brag. Templar commander is a slower more predictable version of the DC so is even more easily evaded. Venatori commander.... well she is basically a mook right?

I do not care for medals (i rarely make top2), because they amount to nothing really. I do care about completing events and not failing and wasting time due to players running into a mob of enemies dying in the process all due to fraghunting, medals and "bighuge numbers"

 

So yeah, you could call me butthurt, but for wasting mine and others time and not medals.

 

More butthurt i see coming from folks claiming me not knowing nothing, i'll take a wild guess and say these are the folks that go in dying and failing the ops for others

I admit I probably sound like a grumpy jerk half the time, but thats only because I'm kind of jaded when it comes to the games industry (mostly due to my own experiences in it), especially in recent history with the state that games are being released in.  I only hope that DAMP grows into an awesome game!

Yeah OP really seems to have this all wrong. Rogues are the DPS and mages are the crowd control.

Just because the guy is clueless doesn't mean there isn't discussion to be had.  I, for one, think this thread serves a useful purpose.  Its an example of an incorrect assumption with different views and reasons why it's incorrect.
