Im going to blow your mind.

you can make a time machine its easy.

1 find a bike / car any item you can sit on realy.

2 find a postit and pen.

3 Write Time machine on the postit and afix to the item.

Now  sit in your time machine as it moves forward in time.. at a normal rate but its a time macine damit.

Imagine if they used time travelling to prevent the Inquisition from even happening... *bites fist*

Thats what Alexius tried and failed to do

How so? Because the writers said so? You know what? Never say never. They brough back Leliana from death so anything's possible in the Dragon Age world. Besides, I was just making a supposition to the whole time travelling thing. It's basically impossible in the real world, but in games like these, it's possible to just go back and mess up with historical events only to create new settings.

Alexius tried to. Well the breach is closed now, so unless a second one is opened and has Dorian's research then it won't happen

I see time travel as a general silly story idea, but in DAI it was used rather fine.

Well if you follow the theory of Time Travel being simple travaling into a different reality with very similar setting then it won't be that confusing.

In a fun way to explain it try watching Steins;Gate (but they skipped out on the Time travel theory lecture in the anime sadly and just cut to the "Time Travel is just traveling to different reaities with similar or near similar reality" point). Though it certainly is a interesting way to get people to learn the theories of time travel. :)

It still makes it confusing in that if Alexius did that, why are we remembering what happened in Val Royeux?

I may have liked the alternate future quest, but this time travel **** is not fooling anyone.

Really? A trinket that can warp time? And you just throw a spell at it and them BOOM? Primitive late 70's movies special effects and we're off to the future?

Sorry. Not buying it. EVER. Tevinter Magisters may be all powerful, but this is just absurd. Still prefer Back To The Future. More credible.

One, Alexius and Dorian have experimented with Time magic for a very long time. --> Haste Spell.

Two, Dorian explicitly says it's only possible because of the Breach. 'Your Trainer' from the Mages' Collective confirms it. The Breach 'changed all the rules'.

Must be necro-bump day.  It does makes some sense here, given the topic.

It doesn't make sense with the alternate reality idea.  I've concluded that it's part of what Dorian said about time unraveling, so paradox's are starting to occur thanks to Alexius' use of time magic.

That's the best explanation I've got.

I like it, DAI is not my favorite game for sure but, this was one of the very few story sequences i actually thought were done well and proved an interesting experience. As long they dont over use it

Inquisitors Anchor. I don't remember who say it Dorian or Solas or both. I think it was Solas.

I dislike time travel in general in stories/movies/books.

It always feels like lazy writing/story making.

(The exception being when the story is completely about time travel, and well done.)

I hope that it is left in the past for good (pun intended).

I hope they don't take the Bioshock Infinite route with the multiple possibilities and ****. I mean, I love Bioshock Infinite, but that game was built from the very foundation up to fit around time travel/multiple possibilities. Dragon Age already has a foundation, one that does NOT include time travel.

What do you think the Crossroads were.... If that sequence didn't look like constants and variables I don't know what did.

Steins;Gate's time travel mechanics are a load of ****.

It is good if if they use it to never use this again  but if they use it again then it is bad
