Ok well I wanted what anyone who wants a two handed tank wants... High damage output from the tank and overall group dps

While yes I have only tested this on hard difficulty I am lvl 13 and have killed the first two dragons so this build hasn't even hit t3 gear yet and I feel comfortable saying that it's very viable. AoE attacks do make me take some pretty decent hits but once I got the vanguard armor that disappeared

I chose Templar because I wanted total party spa to go up IE blessed blades. The build doesn't focus a whole lot on active abilities for damage so blessed blades is very beneficial for our team DPS. I chose human because the extra ability at lvl 2 pays off for early survival

3. Payback strike
4.turn the bolt
5.lunge slash
6. Turn the blade (survival doubles right here)
7. Flow of battle
8. Pommel strike (killed korth first try)
9. War cry upgrade
10. Mighty blow upgrade (damage spike)
11. Blessed blades (first dragon kill)
11. Dispel (crest wood amulet of power)
12. Dispel upgrade (barrier killer)
13. Weakening Templar passive
14. Element resist Templar passive
14. Guard smasher (oasis cold chamber amulet of power)
14 heavens fury (fade amulet)
15. Heavens fury upgrade
16. Demon damage Templar passive
17. Rally (I still like mark of the rift better so I would say get the next passive first personal choice)
18. Fallen champion passive

Ok after lvl 18 it's all personal preference I'm probably going to go after the bear mauls wolves passive and stamina return passives to keep up with blocking and doing attacks. Somewhere I think I am going to be adding the blessed blades upgrade for cool down reduction on dispel and heavens fury

Your rotations should be WC, BB, BR, MB, PS, with auto attacks to build stamina and try to work in BnS once you learn the monsters tells its really easy to time it in the middle of a combo. So far stamina has been the biggest issue for the build but that's something I will use gear for I think 7.5% stamina cost masterworks should help

i made my Cassandra a templar/support two handed weapon..i set block and slash, combat roll, unbowed and horn of valor to be prefered..i disabled war cry because my char is a champion tank..she is doing a great job in my party (solas support/rift mage, sera as a high dps archer)

Good to know TC as I was thinking about going a 2h Templar and it's good to know it can tank even on hard. It seems like a more interesting class to play than say, reaver spam, are you having fun with it?

Do you think that a Reaver sword and board would work? 

 

It's just that Bull has such awesome banter, but he is too squishy for a tank. I always need to have Cass or Blackwall with me as well, and then I no longer have space for two mages in the party :S

I'm having a blast playing this... The cross class combos are doing crazy damage I can burn half a dragons health down pretty quick. The best part is now that I have dispel I can do whole fights and just let the AI do their own thing. I only pause for bombs as my Templar is not really using many potions at all especially in dragon fights

I think a reaver sword and board would be crazy fun to have in your group! Just use sheild wall war cry and devour on favorite I bet bull would never die! The sustain and damage would be really interesting

actually I was thinking about respeccing bull just today after checking that none of his skills are dependent on a 2h spec...
