So I just finished the game last night and did the final battle. After a game of pretty dang fantastic quests, it felt kinda like a let down; however, there were a couple things that kinda stuck out as wth moments.
1) Why exactly can't we wait for the army? It's not like the breach is expanding super fast, nor was there a massive explosion. Also why was the breach even reopened? And if it was that easy to reopen, why wasn't that done before?
2) So we have a full team of companions and only take 3 with us. I get that; it's normal. However, we have HARDING with us?!? There's a cutscene of her falling off the rock slab and looking up at us. Why on earth is she there instead of our companions? Or Cullen/Leliana? She's never been with the A team any other times except when she's reporting in. It felt super out of place. Especially when they all show up after the fight acting like they've been there the entire time.
3) Speaking of which, why weren't they there the whole time? The last 2 games gave us extra npcs for the final boss fight (which always felt very cosmetic and not actually helpful, which is cool) and for a game all about gathering allies and building an organization, it was very strange to have the climax of the game lacking any of your followers, especially as every other mission at least visually showed other allies around.
3) Why is Corypheus not murdering us horribly while we fight his dragon? He could be blasting us with magic or running off to his magical portal in the sky; instead, he does nothing while we wreck his precious dragon. Also if it's his one weakness (and if we know that, he should definitely already know that), why would he even let it stick around if it looks like we have a chance at winning?
4) Why did everyone get the impression that the Inquisitor might have died? You shot a beam of light into the sky and closed the breach...like 10 feet from your buddies.
5) Why is Corypheus weaker than DA2 when he summoned crap, blasted us with near insta-kill infernos and generally was a pain, and here he...shoots red beams? Some of the time?
While this was not a perfect finale and I'm giving it a hard time, it wasn't terrible and after a fantastic game, I'll excuse it the final battle being kinda meh.
