Ever since I played the Dalish Origin in DAO, I've wanted to play a cowardly protagonist. In that origin you can play a warden who gets dragged kicking and screaming into his new life and its inspired me to want this thing.
This would be the perfect game too. The heroes of the previous games were marked solely by what they were willing and able to do but this time around we have a Chosen One.
And a Chosen One might not necessarily want to be Chosen. Even better, our cowardly Herald has a mark making him the only person in all of Thedas who can close rifts. So its time to start making demands, blackmailing everybody, and hiding behind his heroic companions abusing them to do the requisite ass kicking before he steps in.
He wants women and grapes in his room every night and if anyone complains, you can find another guy who can close rifts. OH WAIT! THERE ISN'T ONE! Maybe instead of inspiring his comrades to make him the Inquisitor, he demands the position as a perk or he quits. ("I had to walk through miles of snow to get to your camp. Thanks for looking for me by the way. I'm not doing this **** anymore unless you give me a really fancy title and a beige uniform that matches nobody else's for some reason").
For best effect, the people around him can tell him what a lazy cowardly ******* he is at all opportunities.
I mean it makes sense that they keep this prisoner around with his ability but to me the whole "you should lead" thing can come a bit out of nowhere, especially when you're playing a reluctant hesitant character. It feels weird that they'd put my character in charge. It would make more sense to me if we had these other ways of going about it (not saying to take out the "heroic Inquisitor" though).
Maybe he grabbed the ball because it looked shiny and he wanted to steal it.
