Is the berserk rare weapon trait some kind of joke?

Who in their right mind would receive 100% more damage to do 10% more damage in return?

 

I just found a unique two handed axe with dps that look great on paper (250 or so), but it is double berserk.  Receive 200% more damage, to 20% more.  For an assassin I could potentially maybe possibly get drunk enough to see a benefit, but for a 2H axe?

 

Reavers die very quickly even without amplifying incoming damage, and Katari, well, ... you know.

 

Or am I missing something?  Are you supposed to hit yourself in the leg with berserk to prime health based reaver bonuses?

Most of us are assuming it is a bug of some nature because the stat is absolutely pointless in its current form.  Bioware has yet to acknowledge it one way or another.

I've noticed this also, it looks absurd! 20 to 25% more incoming damage for a 10% boost might be acceptable. This still means you are in real trouble without a good tank or barrier user.

I had one of those and salvaged it. Watch them add more classes that have the skill later on. <_<

I got a berserker 1h axe and man they are useless. Should just be 20% more damage taken for 20% more damage dealt I don't see why there has to be an unfair tradeoff that makes the weapon massively situational. 20% isn't going to make you god.

It's because they basically copy pasta'd everything from singleplayer into multiplayer and this stat is no exception. It should be very obvious that the stat in its current state is almost totally obsolete but they allowed it to slip through anyway. I can only hope that the mp team plans to change it in the near future but until then we're stuck with this cancer of a stat.

Siege's End you take 4x damage if you are beserked. (200% folks........) even with barrier active, if an archer hits you for 80 thats 320 damage to the face, 99% of the time going to be a 1 hit death.
It's the shiniest piece of crap in the game..... have to balance the item's, can't all be good.
