I haven't seen devs or writers post a thing that isn't an announcement since release. And mods... well, if anyone was to be banned for having an opinion, I would have been gone the day I signed up.

Hostility?

I remember plenty of hostility, but it was all from fans.

Yeah the constant real life threats they got sure I remember. Heck I got threats when me3 came out for saying I didn't MIND the ending and being vocal about it. I even got the "I know where you live" lol....course I am able to respond whereas an employee usually has to stay quiet.

So they just avoid it all together.

Shame since overall I think BSN is a bit better than it was.

Your post make no sense....

Developers are not responsible for the forum (thanks god for that), they are not the one deciding whenever a patch/fix should be launched live or not, or what will be include in the game either. You wanna know if you should buy the game or not? Read the review, watch the gameplay footage, get to reddit and read about the game...

They haven't been nasty at all but they just ignore huge part of the players, there is definitely favoritism and they are just denial of the problems that the game have on top of releasing it in this state. The game would have need months more time.

Majority of issues are unrecognized. Feedback section of forum and technical support-> answer EA is bare from answers as well. Only PC players have been pampered by answers they have had 3 announcement here, devs keep answering them and addressing their problems. I have been trying tweeting, PM's on here and I did this thread on feedback section about old gen issues meaning bugs and clitches DAI has on PS3 and XBOX360. But I don't have had any answer from BW to anything I have done and asked. It's like speaking towards brick wall.

I need more communication from BW. It feels like they only care about PC players. The few times they have answered on PS3 and XBOX360 issues they have been on denial. Blaming lack of HDTV and HDM1 cable for text size issue although huge amount of players have been reporting that text is too small and they already have stated they have HDTV and HDM1 cable. For XBOX360 disk unreadable error bothers a lot of players but they have just wondered if it's because the physical disk is broken without even given the thought that the problem is in game (many have tried with 3+ copies of game and still same error). So they just blame hardware and don't even recognize the severe problems that their game has.

They are reasonably active on the forums, typically, even now. Their contributions tend to get lost on the flood surrounding a new release.

It's a great game. I think it's their best since DAO and ME1. And they're mostly on top of the patching (the most recent patch screwed up the visuals for a lot of PC players, but they had a fix for it out in less than a day).

As far as their interaction with the players - it's a two way street. Honestly (possibly I just appreciate and respect a little more candor than most people), they're a lot more gracious than some of the ridiculous screaming on this forum warrants. Most of the people here are absurd.

I really think they have, DAI is such a great testament to the fans and I love it to bits! Almost finished it and so excited to see how it ends.

It's because these forums can be very toxic to developers and regular users.

The whole Furore over Mass Effect 3 which then led to death threats to developers.

Given that they implemented basically exactly the tactical camera I'd requested when DAO came out, I think they're treating me very well.

So, do you feel like your opinions are being heard in a respectiful and professional matter? Do they simply write all forums concerns to the infamous "we're listening" and do the opposite?

There's a difference between listening and actually agreeing with the criticism.  It's obvious Bioware listened to the critical reception of the ending of ME3, yet they only implemented the changes they felt were necessary.  So which is it that you want?  Do you want them to consider criticism?  Or do you want them to agree to do whatever the forums tell them to do?

If it's the former, yes Bioware is good at listening to criticism.  If it's the latter, don't expect that anytime soon from any developer.

Well, if that's the perspective you're going into it with then it makes some sense I guess. Although, if that's their position, and the product that Bioware has released is so drastically unappealing to them, I wish they'd just leave.

What's funny to me is how so many of these folks vacillate between "They added blank? It's just shameful that Bioware has to compromise their artistic vision to pander to a niche audience" and "You didn't do blank? I am disgusted, and as a paying consumer of your product, I am entitled to blank."

They owe me $80, since I bought their game.  They owe me a working PC UI.  They owe me better content than a mediocre main-story with tons of collection quests.  They owe me a working game, which for PC melee users it currently is not.

No, I do not think Bioware is listening any longer.  I think they have too many console fanbois on their team and not enough PC users.  I think this is my last Bioware game.

So yeah, people seem to have forgotten that SKYRIM, the so-called greatest RPG of all time, was plagued by bugs as well during the start (and took a whole LOT of time before fixing the issues)

Because the PS3's hardware is useless to everyone except first party. It's ram is bottle necked and it has a weak GPU compared to the 360. Bethesda's games rely heavily on ram and GPU speed, like others, but even more so because of their open world nature. Obsidian, and even Bioware, have both commented on what a pain in the ass it was to develop for that system.

I think that this is a solid game, very beautiful, very expansive, it is entertaining although have the entertainment was self inserted by myself.

I am extremely disappointed with the story and characters, I had actually spoiled myself on story details and bought this game thinking I'd absolutely love the story. The whole story is like it gets you going, again and again, and then every time abruptly quits, turns over and goes to sleep. This is the first game I ever felt like they actually cut out story content, really good story content, for DLC, leaving behind some basic shell.

I also had an extremely glitchy play through. I do want to replay the game, both with the initial Inquisitor I created(god help me in recreating her face) and with a tyrannical, power hungry Inquistor who abuses the idiocy the people have in believing she is divine sent, but I'm waiting to hear that a stable patch is released.

I have a right to demand attention as much as I deem necessary.

Not to worry. You'll be pampered and cared for. They'll even massage your neck muscles for you.

As long as you're a console gamer.

Moderator Conal is threating us right for now.

I don't know about the guys on twitter

Technical forum support is trying what they can with the little informations they have been given too.

Overall, some bugs report don't get through Bioware unless they're a majority of complainers and that the bug are game breaking bugs.

Also the multiplayer seems important for Bioware because a lot of tweaks were made (patch 2) to spells while they're really minors annoyance for single player mode and a lot of PC gamers are still waiting for better keyboard and mouse control.

But at least, they're trying to get better at communication on the forum (otherwise you needed to go on twitter to get replies), that's a good thing. ^_^

Well buying the game doesn't give you special access to everything so....

It's not about getting something special it's about to get the support when you need help.

You when your mobile phone is broken you're happy that there someone who will fix it for you and you want him to threat you properly.

The OP is just asking if Bioware is threating well their fans.

...you are basically asking if you will be pandered to, personally. The answer is no.

This is about right.

The game's great - there are a few bugs, so the devs and working on addressing it, not jawing about it.

Things are fine from my perspective.

I thought Skyrim on the PS3 was pretty much broken forever?

I never played it on my PS3. I brought the game it didn't work tried a few patches then brought it on my PC and never looked a the PS3 version again. I must admit that the DLC they added had major issues on the PC too after installing them I had a lot of issues with CTD's. I never played the game after the last DLC on any machine.

So they owe you $80 when you bought their product? Doesn't make any sense, but sure buddy.

They owe me a working PC UI.

Objectively speaking, It works. When something isn't to your liking within your realm doesn't mean it's non-functional.

They owe me better content than a mediocre main-story with tons of collection quests.

But it's your opinion, hence they don't owe you anything. You should have done more research, but sometimes it's hard to judge what the game will be and sometimes you just need to take a bite to know.

They owe me a working game, which for PC melee users it currently is not.

I am a PC melee user and the game works. Again, you are misusing the word "work".

If you hate the game so much try to contact EA and get a refund, you can do this digitally aswell if your reasoning is solid, which reading this comment it is not, so try working on that. If it's retail contact the shop you bought it from. If you want them to address your concerns instead then you need to build a much better foundation of reasons and an actual idea on what you want to see changed. Reflecting this onto your concerns, Bioware has taken feedback from users regarding PC UI, so that's something. Do what you will, but they sure don't owe you anything.

Um, don't know what game you're playing, but on PC...the UI (while not PC optimized) works and the game works just fine.

And there are issues with melee controls across the board (but they still 'work'), not just for PC. (they broke something that didn't need fixing imo)

The game is worth it, even with some areas that admittedly do need resolved.   I can't be black or white about it, because life just isn't successfully filtered like that. I fully expect prompt communication with their customers regarding patches, fixes, etc.  I feel so far that has been adequate (not great certainly, but definitely adequate. Those responses tend to get swallowed around here)  I would also expect more work behind the scenes on actually fixing than in only talking about it.   This is one of the better games in a long while in general, and definitely from BioWare.  It's really enjoyable.  If you don't expect an ego-stoke and a back massage from the developers, it is a worthy investment.   Although personally just finishing up a course while also moving house means I wouldn't really say no to that massage, either. lol     :D

But seriously, I think a HUGE issue with games in general for a while now is Ship Now, Fix later mentality.  There is a certain expectation on turnaround times for development and profits are expected to be a certain level in a very quick time frame for production.  It has created an industry that is rife with quality issues, the "norm" is now a buggy, unfinished game which is fixed in patches and augmented with DLC.   To blame BioWare for this would be silly as it is an industry (in general) problem.  Look at EA, like it or hate it, they are marketing machine with high output.  Have they ever been known for crazy detailed long duration quality games?  To me they are the fast food of the game industry who ate up a company known for having story-driven, longer games with more development time.   It isn't difficult to imagine that those two styles may conflict a bit and cause some indigestion.   Frequently companies put production time before Quality of Life for employees or High-Quality of Product for consumers.   Money is a very attractive thing.  Earplugs are cheap.   :)  I would urge them(EA) to live their own Motto:  Challenge Everything, even their own status quo.   Same advice to the industry in general: That is how the industry will reach it's true potential.   Does admitting that the industry in general has some substantial issues to overcome make this particular GAME not worthy?  Pffft. No.  Even with its flaws, its a good game.   With some fixes:  potentially Great game.

Well, they could've bough me dinner first, but I can't really complain.

Personally I've never had any problems with Bioware treatment of its fans. I suppose I'm quite easygoing though. If something breaks, I'd like it fixed, but I have fairly realistic expectations.
