Just to let you know, the promised hotfix is up on origin right now. I'm downloading it as I write this.

My download is going like a turtle (stuck at 33%), sometimes it shows 0KB/s . ah well, I'll get it someday.

I got a 270 something patch and it is downloading very slow.

odd I downloaded it in seconds and I'm watching a 1080 stream at the same time, with an okayish connection 25mbps

I'm having issues also.  It keeps canceling on me after a certain point.  I will try again in an hour, hopefully the servers won't be so busy then.

Yes you can remove the command line, I did right before I tried playing. Games look great again!

Well origins crashed. And for some read I launch if Windows updates to install.

So when that's done we'll see if one has to do with the other

Nope still not downloading.

Origin tried to download a 270 MB patch first, then it crashed. After I got in again, I had to cancel the update, and re-start it, then it showed me a 17 MB download (now that's what I call a hotfix), The download speed was still atrocious, like 30 Kb/s, but managed to download and install it.

 

Fired the game (I erased the command line workaround first) and I'm happy to report that the shiny hair is gone. Played for 5 minutes, and everything seemed alright.

Its moving up and down from 0 to about 100kb/sec for me, lame.

 

Don't think origin can handle everyone patching at the same time.

well least i finally got the 17 mb patch to dl vs. the 270 or 325 I had before....lol.

I was warned about the patch and did not download it, but now people seem to be reporting that the shiny hair is fixed.

 

I'm just wondering if I should download the patch and the fix now - or wait a while longer to make sure. Any recommendations?

 

As the game is now, things are running smoothly apart from some bugs that bother me more than others:

 

a couple of minor quest NPCs disappearing,

Solas not approving when activating elven artifacts and not giving me a quest that people say should be there (after the thing with his friend),

companions occasionally going invisible at Skyhold

and problems with Dorian's quest (supposed to meet someone who is not there until I try to enter the area two more times).

You must remove the command-line before you run the game.

I have no idea what the hotfix did, but after that was installed, all of the lag/stutter vanished. The game runs now at constant 60fps, smooth as a butter. Either the hotfix is a miracle, or my GPU decided to stop rebelling and started to work with full capacity

So... unambiguously safe to patch now? I skipped the first one, and I've been playing off line the past couple of nights. Would like to import a new keep though.
