The rumor that I have read on this site is that 30 is the max you can have for an attribute. So lets say we are talking about cunning, you start with 10, you promote 20 times for a total of 30.
Has anyone done that or reached 31+ of an attribute?

Outside of modders? No.
You can't mod promotions it's stored serverside. There's no limit on 30 to an base stat in MP though unless you mean from promotions only.
When you put on a weapon(s) and necklace that total over 50 ability points you will definitely notice it.
inb4 no cap because Bioware can't into balance
I have 30 cunning. Nothing after 30 made it seem like it capped. Just promote, back to level 1, and +1 cunning. No pop up or anything.

I'm pretty sure he means from promotions only.
Finally got all of my characters up to level 20 last night, promoted them all except for two of them.

He is saying Modders mod their games so they take 0 damage. Then get on OP Archer class or something and blow through content easy. They powerlevel their chars so Promoting is super fast. I have witnessed this first hand but I won't drop names.
Er, I haven't reached my first promotion yet, but maybe one day...
Someone promoted a Keeper 31 times and ended up getting a stat boost every time.
I don't see why there should be a cap.

Uhh, kinda hard to balance a game that essentially lets you have an unlimited amount of health, damage boosts, and critical chance...
Or was that sarcasm? Hard to tell the difference on the internet.
At 43 willpower here (33 promotes). Seems okay.

Only play mages? What are your other promotions?
Without checking I'm pretty sure it's Constitution 15 (5), Cunning 16 (6). To give you an idea, my leaderboard ranking peaked at 19 sometime last week.
I did a lot of group farming in Perilous with a couple of other blokes from the top 50... and when there was no group I was grinding perilous on an AW. I've sort of quit now, I barely held on to get the 250 perilous runs achievement. All the people I used to regularly grind with have also stopped playing. Think everyone just got sick of it.
Man you hardly even need a couple points in each, nevermind 10 or more.

So what? It's co-op.
A single stat point is not very significant. And if someone promotes 100 times, that player has earned it, no question. Like New Game+, it's not supposed to be balanced.

They really dropped the ball with the MP. I mean yes, I admit coming off of ME3 our standards/expectations were extremely high. I admit that 100%, but man. I've all but quit as well. I've even been playing..........the SP here and there!

Yes. It's co-op. I don't want to play with someone that can one-shot brutes on perilous with a basic attack. That's not a game. That's watching someone solo. That's what twitch/youtube/etc is for. Single player (New Game+) doesn't have to be balanced, because it affects no-one except the person who chose to be overpowered. Multiplayer HAS to be if they don't want playing with an experienced player to be excruciatingly boring.

Would love to see that, personally... but I think you're vastly overestimating the power of promotions. I don't think there will ever be a character who can 1 shot a brute with a basic attack in perilous. From what I've seen so far that'd easily take 1000+ promotions. And, even if people did get that far along, they wouldn't be doing perilous, Bioware would have released "treacherous", "deadly" and probably "insane" or whatever, by then. It's trivial for them to just change the dimensions of the MP treadmill.
people who have promoted 20+ times:
does anyone know if there is a cap to how many times you can promote a character, or is it unlimited? I've heard 3 (obviously not the case), 20, and 60. I tried googling and can't find anything reliable.
