Seriously, its such a cowardly, chicken ****, yellow thing to do. You think saving the world isn't a cause worth dying for? If you shagged Morrigan just to save your own arse at the risk of spawning some demon abomination into the world then you are a disgrace to The Wardens, Kirkwall, and the Inquisition.
I have beaten Dragon Age Inquisition twice and I will never import a save that involves having completed the dark ritual. The only thing worse than a villain like Corypheus is a coward.
Why did any of you guys do the dark ritual?

Excuse me but I have been banned by 4chan, I don't need your advice on how to troll. This post however is not an example of trolling poor or otherwise, it is a serious question.
DA:Inquisition is a role playing game, presumably your main playthrough includes making decisions you would make if you were actually in Thedas. I can understand doing experimental playthroughs just to see the content but to actually see the Dark Ritual as the best option is a completely selfish, cowardly act.

Second, I chose to do the ritual because Morrigan never struck me as a liar. She was always honest with me. Blunt, perhaps, even opportunistic, but never dishonest with her intentions. She said I would help save an old god, and I believed her. Anything the Blight touches is corrupted, so I figured the old gods were just as tormented as everyone else. As a Warden, I wanted to save everyone I could from the Blight, even some old gods I knew next to nothing about. I thought I was doing a good thing, honestly, and now that I've seen Kieran and the affect he's had on Morrigan, I still think I did the right thing. She needed that kid. He's helped heal her heart.

I just can't see how anyone could see what is clearly an abomination of nature as being the right thing to do. Much better to just kill the Archdemon forever and end the blight.
That is what I did and I died a hero, Allistair spoke at my funeral.

Good for you. Archdemons are evil because of the Taint, I'll give you that. Old Gods are a different story. And if you can't bother to get to know Morrigan enough to find out that she uses bitchiness as a shield then it's your loss.

The woman genuinely wanted to save my ass, and I trusted her enough that whatever she unleashed would not endanger the world. She may act like an ass, but underneath it all, there's a person with good intentions. She only acts the way she did because of her upbringing. Dying on Alistair and letting him be manipulated by Eamon is also not a good idea.
She wanted to free the Urthemiel. Whatever the old gods were, it seems good that after such destruction, something can still be salvaged. Unless that is, you are the type that destroys everything you don't understand. Then, shame on you.

My Warden lost his parents, had to choose between being killed on spot or having a Taint that will eventually turn him into a monster, went to great deal of trouble to save everyone he could, fell in love with a beautiful witch and then learned that final victory will kill him.
At this point Aiden Cousland stopped and thought."Screw this. I did my best to be kind and just, and thats the reward i get? The world has taken enough from me. I won't sacrifice anymore for it. I will live and be happy, damn it! I dont want to die!"
That, and he was curious what's the Old God is like untainted,

So basically people just did it for themselves. Like I said, it was selfish.
Saving an old God? The old Gods were EVIL! Its pretty obvious that the Maker in this game is actually real as we see the Fade, the Black City, and the ashes of Andraste. The Maker is the only true God and Andraste is his bride.

So let me get this straight...
Saving a soul from endless torment, corruption, and an untimely demise, bringing new life into the world, and helping a woman mend her broken heart are all acts you consider to be selfish?
Lol. Riiiiiiiiight.... You keep thinking that, buddy. Keep living the dream!

The soul you're talking about saving is an EVIL OLD GOD! All the Old Gods were evil even before the Darkspawn. That is why the Maker turned his back on humanity when the Tevinter Imperium turned to idolatry and Maferath killed his wife Andraste.

My motivation for having Loghain assist Morrigan with the Dark Ritual was to benevolently troll him for that prank at Ostagar and to saddle Morrigan with a child so she might learn to be more compassionate. ![]()
It worked.
