I mean, no character DLC? Hell, there is no DLC whatsoever to speak of. Come on, Bioware! It was only your crazy fans who felt that way. Most of us would love to see DLC! Please tell me its going to happen!
I think Bioware listened to their fans too much with this game.

Don't tell me the game isn't big enough for you already.
Sure, we always want more, but seriously, if there was ever a Bioware game not in need of early DLC in the last ten years, it's DAI. Somewhere down the road, I would like to see more story content for some of the emptier maps, but for now I'm very much content with what we've got. it's not as if DLC could insert the missing main plot mission between the Winter Palace/Here Lies the Abyss and Arbor Wilds or make up for the fact that the Val Royeaux mission was cut down to 10% of its intended size (Speculation, but I'm pretty sure I'm right - two 10-minute main plot missions in a row, that doesn't feel right).
Having said that, a DLC that would restore Val Royeaux to its intended glory (given the evidence in the art book), that would be *really* nice,

As one who has all character DLC for both Dragon Age and Mass Effect, I'm glad that they got rid of this. If we're going to have DLC, I'd prefer that it just be more story-driven stuff that we can do with the current cast, not one that simply adds another.
I feel obligated to express my desire for Inquisitor Casual getup DLC, because beige pajamas should never be a thing in Thedas.

They were not listening to fans in their choice not to add follower DLC. Where the hell did you get that idea? Please tell me you understand what the Day 1 DLC controversy in ME3 was actually about.

The only DLC that should ever be released is story-driven DLC that is made after the main game, based on the success of said main game.

I agree early dlc should be optional and then followed up by story dlc.

What is wrong with you? Obviously, yes, there are going to be DLC; they want money. I don't understand the daftness in this topic. You didn't even state it clearly in the OP, but apparently you are ONLY angry about there not being Day 1 DLC, because you seem to be operating under the assumption that DLC's do not get released in the future.
You buy a whole pizza pie, but the store takes away one of your slices and charges extra for it. The customers next to you complain, so the next time you buy a pizza pie, you get a whole pie for the price of a whole pie, and start complaining, "where's my extra slice?"

In other words: "BioWare should stop listening to the fans... right after they satisfy my fan request for DLC."

I thought there was not going to be any DLC. I haven't heard Bioware announce anything.

They didn't, but I'd be surprised if there wasn't any. DAI is almost made to be expanded by meaningful sidequests added through DLC.

The game just came out and frankly if they were to announce anything now the forums would explode with 'you cut content from the base game you hacks!' like it has in the past when they aren't careful about when they announce the future DLC. Give it a few months, let the team get some breathing room. At the very least we won't be getting anything major for a few months.

A DLC? To add even more stuff to do in the game? Also I am glad no companions through DLC this time. That was the right thing to do, especialyl after that ME3-Prothean-dude I denied myself to buy (gladly so, he couldn't save the game anyway)
I really don't want any (nonfree) DLCs for this game. Well, except for maybe more hairstyles and a coiffeur alongside (If they charge money for something like this however I will greatly dissaprove!).
Want I want and hope for (and this would also be in line with what most fans want to see, I am sure about that) A massive Addon (the predecessor of DLCs, for you young people) that continues the story, and doesn't "integrate" itself in the main story (never was a fan of this). Just like "Awakening" did with DAO. Let's have the Inquisitor deal with the problems after the catastrophe, some house-cleaning, new problems appear. First its harmless but then...it gets worse and worse, a new threat rises its ugly head, Skyhold ultimately gets attacked, Lelianna dies (^^ you know, for grimdark-tragedy! But dare to kill a character I care about!) and though we somewhat win in the end the path is set for:
Dragon Age: The Quest for the Holy Elfroot!

They have announced DLC. It's an Xbox One timed exclusive and will be an "adventure" (so probably story-based).

Technically they did already mention DLC. Xbox systems are getting the first story DLC as a timed exclusive. So clearly there is going to be DLC, so M$ can lord it over the rest of us. I'm good for now though. There's so much content in this base game, and I'm sure whatever comes next will be worth the wait.

Yes, that's the one DLC I'd like to have as soon as possibly. Actually, I'd prefer it if a patch included the ability to wear your armor (sans weapon to avoid clipping issues) in Skyhold.

Can someone explain why this timed-exclusiveness makes it possible to get out content earlier? Sounds like perfect BS to me.

I'm not a big fan of DLC in general. The Origins DLC that was released with the game was great. What came after was a huge disappointment. That's the one area where I'd say DA2 did better than Origins, If they don't skimp on story and dialogue, fine, but if it's going to be a gear salle with a thin veneer of story, no thanks.
But like has already been said, the game has only just been released. It's way too early to talk about DLC--unless it's a toolset
