I think Bioware listened to their fans too much with this game.

Return to Ostagar was a great DLC, one of the best, most emotional DLCs ever.

No wonder company practices are so fu.... up when people come asking for DLC after a month. For a game as big as DA:I.

Really? People are craving DLC within two weeks of release, and character DLC at that? This is why publishers can continue to get away with their dodgy business practices. Ugh.

Can someone explain why this timed-exclusiveness makes it possible to get out content earlier? Sounds like perfect BS to me.

Relatively speaking, Xbox One gets the content "earlier" than every other system. Therefore, timed exclusives mean DLC comes out earlier.

Of course, everything I just wrote is actually complete nonsense.

They have announced DLC. It's an Xbox One timed exclusive and will be an "adventure" (so probably story-based).

Seriously Bioware? Are you waiting for people to take interest in something else or something? XBone doesn't even sell, to the point MS refuse to release numbers on it.

They have to wait to announce DLC at least a few months so the people don't accuse them of cutting content only to tack it on after regardless of whether or not there is evidence of it.

I'm praying for a DLC that adds a big city though...ANTIVA PLEASE BIOWARE>

I mean, no character DLC?  Hell, there is no DLC whatsoever to speak of.  Come on, Bioware!  It was only your crazy fans who felt that way.  Most of us would love to see DLC!  Please tell me its going to happen!

Their prior intiial character DLC has ALWAYS been cut-for-DLC content.

Shale? Cut for DLC (intended to be part of the main story, as evidenced by her contribution to Orzammar's plot).

Zaeed? Cut for DLC (initially intended to be very differently recruited) along with removal of vehicle missions.

Sebastian? Same deal as Shale (his missions flesh out the Chantry's side of the story, plus give you an extra look at Sister Nightingale before the reveal).

Javik? Oh, you know, 20% of the plot of the game went out the window along with him.

So yes, I'm thankful there's no Day One Character DLC, as only Kasumi's was honest-to-goodness DLC material.

Can someone explain why this timed-exclusiveness makes it possible to get out content earlier? Sounds like perfect BS to me.

Of course: Microsoft PAYS you for it, so you have more money to pay your programmers, and when you focus on fixing bugs specific to one platform, it's easier to get stuff out - you can fix the rest while the timed exclusiveness timer ticks.

Yes, that's the one DLC I'd like to have as soon as possibly. Actually, I'd prefer it if a patch included the ability to wear your armor (sans weapon to avoid clipping issues) in Skyhold.

My preference would be for some kind of unique light dress armor that only exists when in Skyhold, though even some kind of svelte getup would be great. Cassandra's is about as close as I can describe to what I'm thinking about.

It was okay, but it was just one quest, and not a very long one at that. Certainly not worth the price.

I suppose I remain flummoxed at the apparent desire for tiny overpriced DLC, especially as I remember the ire that was rightly thrown at Bethesda over the likes of Horse Armor and Spell Tomes.

Much as I have loved the previous DLC characters in both DA and Mass Effect, I think twelve main characters is actually enough. I'd rather have DLC that let us interact with them more than a whole new character - something like Citadel, only with dragons. (And if it lets the PC get that drink with Harding, I will love BioWare forever. Um, even more than I do already.)

Mark Darrah said in a recent interview (which I can't find now - curse you Google!) that there were no plans for an expansion. Apparently Awakening was too expensive and took too long and didn't sell enough, which may have something to do with Exalted March getting cancelled. I'm sure there will be smaller story-based DLC along eventually.

As much as I hate to admit it, that makes sense. Well, I can live with it as long as the delay for the rest of us isn't half a year or so.

If Bioware listened to their fanbase they would have made the game more like the best selling game in the series. Dragon Age Origins this is not.

The op is between sarcasm and just trolling. C'mon people, log off, you clearly have been spending too much time in BSN if you take this seriously. You need a break.

I suggest kitten videos, followed by theme songs of the cartoons of your childhood and end it with icecream, or eat icecream all the way. ^^

How about an expansion pack like awakening?  Is it possible?

If they kept all the cut content, yes, imo.

As if BioWare's fanbase has ever been able to come to any kind of agreement on anything. Some love Origins' combat; some hate it. Some love its story; some are indifferent. Some love the silent protagonist; some preferred voiced. Listening to the entirety of its fanbase and attempting to cater to them all at the same time would amount to little more than toggles. Toggles everywhere. It would be neverending.

Blame EA and Microsoft having an exclusive deal. Bioware dont have much choice.

I'm not a big fan of DLC in general. The Origins DLC that was released with the game was great. What came after was a huge disappointment. That's the one area where I'd say DA2 did better than Origins, If they don't skimp on story and dialogue, fine, but if it's going to be a gear salle with a thin veneer of story, no thanks.

But like has already been said, the game has only just been released. It's way too early to talk about DLC--unless it's a toolset

I dunno.  I liked the Stone Prisoner, Leliana's Song (which didn't even have the Warden), Witch Hunt and Warden's keep.  And Awakenings was fun (even if it was full of more bugs than a jar of bees).  Disliked all the other Origins DLCs.

For DA2, Legacy was (and still is) my favorite DLC to come out of both games.  I wish they had gone ahead with the proposed DLC for Exalted March I'd read about, which probably would have improved DAI some, not weakening the overall narrative by including it in Inquisition.  What's done is done though.

The only DLC I could use at the moment is a mirror or 'plastic surgeon/hairdresser' mage who you click on to alter your character's features.  Because the lighting in the Fade sucks, it really really sucks and making a decent looking character is sometimes a hit-miss proposition.  My first 2-3 efforts were really bad, I couldn't wait to get past the first cutscene so I could delete them.   If Haven had something like that, I'd have probably saved them.

I don't even mind the beige PJs.  I just make characters whose coloring fits it and they end up looking okay.

The game just came out and frankly if they were to announce anything now the forums would explode with 'you cut content from the base game you hacks!' like it has in the past when they aren't careful about when they announce the future DLC. Give it a few months, let the team get some breathing room. At the very least we won't be getting anything major for a few months.

It's already happened, check it out:

Self fulfilling prophecy

According to posters in that thread, any DLC will be cut content, or will contain cut content, so it's bad...

Did you have an actual refutation to the premise, or are you really just that simple?
