Hi all,

I'd like to create a dwarven rogue (so no extra point for human,) who can dual wield and use archery. It's obviously not a power build, and the focus would be on archery. It would be for hard or normal - not nightmare and with FF off. Either tempest or artificer. Have any of the experts got any idea of how to go about it?

Thanks

Dump points in archery and whatever else. The main issue is going to be that you can't switch weapons in combat.

You can't switch between archery and melee effectively to do both, unfortunately. Although, if you mainly focused on archery stuff and then took like shadow smite as a melee move to use sometimes, it could be alright, because I'm pretty sure you do not need daggers to use it.

At the start you get points in Long Shot and Stealth. Keep these, both are much needed! That gives us 2 points to play with. Goodie!

4 points - Level 5:  First Blow --> Explosive Shot --> Pincushion --> Full Draw [Archery, Right side]
2 points - Level 7:  Evasion --> Evade [Subterfuge, Left side]
3 points - Level 10:  Caltrops --> Looked Like it Hurt --> Cheap Shot [Sabotage, right side]
2 points - level 12: Poisoned Weapons + Upgrade* [Sabotage, left side]

Best archer build. If you want to mix in some melee abilities, you can get Twin Fangs instead of Cheap Shot, and the 2 passives futher down to Deathblow instead of poisoned weapon. It won't be efficient.. but you don't got enough points to be efficient with dual setup.

However, if you want to be efficient, just get everything in the subterfuge tree and play more combo-oriented. That build isn't weapon-specific. I can't comment on it, as I have yet to try this build. (I'll get to that soon-ish!)

Thanks for the replies. It,s a bummer about not being able to switch between archery and dual wielding in combat. Seems like they went for the DA 2 system instead of Origins. I was hoping that you could switch on the fly, oh well...
I think I might still try a hybrid bough. If nothing else, it might be a nice change to switch between the 2.
Thanks again, will have a look at the links.
