I don't know if others have experienced this, but I have twice now encountered item/craft material/loot/codex that I am not able to loot. possible due to shelves that it had been inside to.

 

First time was at Dirthamen temple, where Ghoul's Beard was inside hole of wall, and no matter how many times I tried to click it, nothing happened. Second time was at Emerald Grave's Villa Manor (where the Free Man General occupied place) in room beyond courtyard, where I tried to click a book in shelf, possibly giving a codex entry.

 

It is, as said in title, relativily minor thing, but it would be nice if this can be corrected in future patches.

On the PC, if clicking on an object does not work, highlighting it with the mouse and pressing 'f' (on default keybinding setup) will work. For instance, it is the only way I can get a quest in Sahrnia (Emprise du Lion) to start. I still have encountered a few resource nodes that are still unreachable though.

I know which quest you're talking about.  The poor old lady with the ring, right?  Note to the OP: It'll be one of the first quests you'll see available after you get past Harding's intro in Emprise du Lion.  Had to look up how to grab that.  I barely used the F key prior to that point, mainly due to being used to doing almost everything with my mouse.  

 

As Carn said, most of that stuff you can't click on can be obtained by using the F key.

Aye, after encountering that quest it was also when I started using the f key for looting/using most objects. Also works on some otherwise unattainable codex books, I remember one in the Emerald Graves, think it was the villa where Duhaim is holding out, not sure about that one though.

I know which one you're talking about.  It helps that I was in both zones less than two days ago.

I too had success with that book, by pressing F, after a lot moving my PC around until I found just the right place to stand.

I GOT IT, OMG

I mashed the jump/interact button to see if i can somehow trigger the collection of the Ghoul's Beard midflight, i landed on top of one of those vases with the skull to the right, and i got it! XD

 

So in summary, get on top of the skull-vase thing get as near as possible staying on the skull vase, until you can see the interact button, hope this helps

MaierSoran, You are a god. That was the only way I could get that Ghoul's Beard... Thank you for your acrobatic research!
