What do I have to do to NEVER make Vivienne the Divine ever again!?

Don't get me wrong. I don't have anything against her character. But that *bleep* ruined EVERYTHING. MORE rebellions, forcing the Templars back under her heel, mages leashed once more. I mean come the hell on. I'd support literally anyone else over her. LITERALLY anyone. EVEN SERA!

Don't bring up her becoming Divine. Then the idea will never get in her head. Though... it's probably already in there.

Edit: And don't talk smack about Sera bro. I'm a Seranite of Seranade and you will bow before her majesty.

Don't constantly support the chantry as is, and instead constantly say either that it needs to be reformed or that it needs to start over...or something like that. The mechanic for choosing the Divine is not well established yet.

I actually never brought the Divine up with Vivienne, and kept pushing for reforms and such. She disapproved immensely, of course. I swear she became Divine just to spite me.

Oh, and Sera is indeed awesome. I just mean... imagine her as Divine. Really.

You can't waffle between Cassandra and Leliana. Vivienne will swoop in otherwise.

Just take a dump on the Chantry at every opportunity. All my DA:I characters are totally irreverent so I never have the issue (they also try to never ever discuss the subject... with anyone) seriously though I just do what is needed for her quest chain and ignore her the entire game (although my mage keeps eyeing her robe off... it is so much better looking then any of the mage PC gear).

edit: only thing I do say is lelianna would make a good divine that's it (better that a crazy has that job portfolio... so I guess even Sera, the want to be human is a candidate)

I'm really starting think your choices in game have **** all to do with who becomes divine. I played two characters almost (just different races really) exactly the same and the divine was different both times.

mages leashed once more.

On the bright side she give the Mages more freedom and responsibility in the Circle. It's not a total loss.

Edit: Nevermind, I forgot that no matter who becomes Divine, the Mages will have a better future than before, but the difference is if Cass or Vivi is Divine, they will reform the Circle while Leliana dissolve it.

One very sure way not to get Vivienne as Divine: Don't recruit Vivienne. I didn't, starting my second PT. Never miss anything with her not around anyway. Okay, maybe how to make her robes. She should be Miranda Priestly like if she live in real world.

Yeah, no matter who becomes Divine, the mages are better off than they were before.

Don't do the war table operation called "Support Viviene". That's the only way she becomes Divine, from what I understand.

I always support Cassandra, but I have gotten Leliana or Vivenne. Why can't I get the Divine Thedas deserves? Cassandra is the only Divine that kick starts a golden age and I'd like to know the requirements for that.

certain decision get you "points" for their candidacy, allying with the Templars and supporting Gaspard are points for Cassandra

I got her as Divine even though I supported Cassandra.

Do I still get the College vs Circle civil war if I side with the Templars?

I've gotten her as divine twice, and both times she reformed the Seekers, Circle, and Order, beyond that line, and something about many templars abandoning lyrium and joining the Seekers, I didn't get anything like that

I did those things and have gotten both Cassandra and Vivienne as Divine. They're outlooks are so close it's the support from the Inquisitor that's the tie breaker. Either that or exiling Gaspard. That way you can act like Inquisition never even happened and Vivienne definitely will become Divine.

Anyway, as to the OP, no. Mages actually have more freedoms than ever before with Vivienne as Divine. The point of the game is nothing, not even the sky, will ever be the same. And honestly, as long as the Divine doesn't want to collect your eyelashes, *cough,* you've made an okay decision.

I had the talk with Cassandra and I accepted her as the most qualified. Then I said to Vivienne I would think about her (but never did the "Support Vivienne" quest). Leliana asked me about her as Divine, I said "no". But in the end, Vivienne was Divine. I don't understand, but will make sure to support Cassandra in my 3rd playthrough...

I got the impression that Vivienne becomes divine "by default" if you neglect Leliana and Cassandra. I neglected Cassandra the first time through, and even though I told Leli she'd be a good divine, I still got Vivienne. Second time I paid more attention to Cassandra, and Vivienne actually reccommended Cassandra be the choice.

I'm not sure exactly how you get Leliana to be Divine. It must have to do with choices you make, like conscripting vs allying with the mages and such. I still think Cassandra is the best choice, since she seems to actually know what the problems are in the Chantry and doesn't just have big dreams like Leliana.

Seeing as the College is made of Fiona and her followers who without you become venatori (you even kill Fiona in Haven before meeting Cory for the first time) I think no.

I have gotten Cass as Divine on my first go, and the results were good, but my inner shipper is unhappy because romance with her most likely ends. I had to replay Winter Palace ending because I screwed up Celene's future, so now I am trying to get Leliana for Divine instead.

Yeah I only recruited her my first PT, then I found out what an utter ****** she is, I don't want that kinda energy in my castle man! I actually take pleasure in forgetting about her now, not showing up to her salon feels like such a beautiful snub, it makes me tear up..

Well done BW for actually creating a character that I can't stand, it's a first! I love hating her.

Weird, I found it really easy to make Cass my Divine.

My first PT I got Leliana because I did nothing about the Divine -- I also did not recruit Viv on that pt because I didn't understand how the war table worked yet XD I know I told both Cass and Lel they'd make a good Divine, I didn't do any WT operations, and my character was a mage so she was very supportive of mage freedom.

My second PT I wanted Cass as Divine, and I did recruit Viv. I was friendly with Viv and she eventually brings up the point of supporting Cass as Divine and I said yes. Also, I did a WT operation to support Cass, and I talked to her a ton about being Divine, saying she would be awesome, and on her Seeker quest I told her things like "You can do whatever you set your mind to, you're awesome!"  I also told Leliana to forget about it when she talked about being Divine.

I would never want Viv as Divine. Man that sounds terrible. I honestly think I like Leliana as Divine, but softened so it's not bloody.

Yea, making Cass Divine is a piece of cake.

And I managed to make Leliana Divine! Apparently all you need is to  discourage Cass by saying there must be another way and that you won't give her to Chantry. Also do not pick any encouraging options and do not use your speach skill to offer help.

And then just agree with Leliana (mine was unhardened) Strangely, this will not give you an actual mission  in the war room to get approval for her(unlike Cass). But she will be Divine regardless. Combined with choosing mages over templars and reuniting Celene with Briala you get a very nice ending. Yay!
