quick question : should I prefer a rare armor, which has higher defense but less buffs compared to a unique armor (masterwork) which has lower defense but several buffs ?

 

 

Technically the rare armor looks better but as soon as it is written unique on an item (you know the purple color ... Borderland 2 ...), I'm tempted to keep the unique one.

I notice you're level 16.  By that point you can craft T3 medium armor with an armor rating over 250 and 4 buffs.  As for just the above go with the rare and switch the legs an arms from the unique to it.  That's where those buffs are coming from.

There's a vendor in the Hissing Wastes that sells a few in the canyon. If you take the keep in EdL you'll get another vendor. Also, if you check out the Farming T3 schematics thread you can get tons of them that way. That's what I did though some might find it to be an exploit.
