Without spoilers (obviously), what race and class would you say gets the most unique story content? Dialog options, recognition of your race/past/originz etc.?

I've read that elf mages get more attention in this game, is that true?

Just finished elf mage playthrough, and that is my only playthrough so far. I will say that the final outcome of the main story will have particular resonance for elves, but one of the great things about Bioware games is the attn each combo gets.

 

For example, my dwarf rogue playthrough is started, and I'm getting unique and different responses and missions for her. Though I am also making some conscious choices differently to get to different content as well.

 

So, play what you will enjoy on your first playthrough-if you find the game content compelling, there's enough variety to reward a second playthrough if you really want to metagame.

I am still on my first play through as a Dwarf Rogue, but so far I haven't really noticed any really unique race specific content. I mean, yeah there is the occasional

War Table mission concerning the Carta

 

 

but I haven't seen any real recognition of my race apart from "Hey how's it going dwarf?"

 

Humans and Elves seem to have the most race specific content; at least as far as I can tell. I guess it's because those are the two most populous races you meet in the game?

I get a few lines with companions about my being a dwarf right now (along with npcs mentioning it). Like I just had Cassandra as if all dwarves were comedians or just me and varric. Lol

I had a lot of people be stunned or skeptical that a mage could ever be Andreste's Herald or really any kind of savior.

Same here for my Dwarf warrior. It gets mentioned in passing quite a lot (particularly people questioning whether a Dwarf could be Andraste's Herald) which I really like, and I've had

a Carta War Table mission or two

which I guess I might not have had as any other race, but it's not like I've had entire sidequests open up.
