Personally i would rather they had just made a new game with the DAO engine than deal with this awful gameplay, items, character ability/stat customization, and MMO-tier quests.
It would have been worth the low graphics. Anyone agree?

While that may sound like a solution, its not the best option. The general framework is reasonable.

I agree in principle but I would rather them have made DA:I in its new shiny haired engine and had comparable gameplay to Origins.

That's the point though. You're asking if we'd like a new game in a six year old engine and the answer is no, I'd sooner a new game in a new engine with six year old game play. The engine isn't the issue with the game, it's the gameplay that's the issue which isn't a result of the new engine but rather poor design choices.

I'd rather the old playstyle in a new engine (one that's moddable, so not Frostbite). The new playstyle is a major step backwards and has pretty much ruined my enjoyment of what would otherwise be an excellent game.
