It makes fighting dragons very annoying...they seem to just run into the fire without much thought.
Do your AI companions run into pools of fire too?

I haven't noticed them running into fire pools etc but they don't have the sense to get out of the way of any aoe bs unless I manually reposition them.

well mine fall off giant cliffs on occassion. hinterlands for example. Then they end up with like 10 hp.
Don't have too bad of an issue with fire.

YES. It's like they looked at a typical MMO PUG and decided "yeah this seems like reasonable AI behavior."
I'm not even joking, it's like they decided that AI can't be too smart so melee archers are now a thing.

Yes, more like artificial stupidity than AI.

Yes. Ranged characters also seem to have a fond spot for running into melee range.

Sometimes it seems like they actively seek it out. More often than not i use the tactical mode to stop the AI from doing the worst possible action in any given situation rather than executing a strategy.
It feels like babysitting. Sometimes it's like i can't even leave them alone for a second without them doing something tremendously retarded.
Why they needed to completely gut the tactics system and make the most idiotic AI ever is beyond me.

Actually, that's an excellent point! DA:I companions pass the Turing test -- so long as you're comparing it to mmo pugs.

Change your AI behaviour, don't set them on follow, but instead set them on defend on your tank.

I just wanted to kick them from raid and invite some decent players. Real slackers.
