Heya

I know that a lot of people liked Bethany Hawke as a character in Dragon Age 2 and a lot of people were also wondering how to create her face in character creator there.

So there I was, wondering if it was possible to create a face similiar to hers in Dragon Age 3 as well. After all, it'd be a good face for a female mage and I am honestly not very good creating the appearance of my female characters.

The problem is Bethany looked different depending on what class and character you played.  My female rogue, bethany looked one way and on my male warrior she lopoked different in terms of her hairstyle and facial features.

Bethany and Carver's features were, to a degree, extrapolated from the features you created for your Hawke. So there were several possible configurations. As to how to replicate those in the DAI character creator, your best bet is to probably screengrab the Bethany you like, print it, and use it as a reference.

There are actually several presets that the game chose based off your skintone and the preset you chose.

I made a FAQ here.

Ah, yes, good point! It's been awhile since I played DA2. I totally forgot that Bethany's appearance is not always the same, depending on your own character's face preset and the class that you play, right?

Either I am not allowed to post pictures here or I'm just not bright enough to figure out how to do it (perfectly possible). That being said, when I google "Bethany Hawke" for pictures, the result is that most of the pictures there are of her with the one and the same appearance, skin colour possibly varying a little which doesn't matter. And if you check out the dragonage wiki website - http://dragonage.wik...i/Bethany_Hawke - you'll see the appearance of her that I'm refering to.

I did try to re-create her appearance in DAI several times but I just cannot do it! Way too hard for me. I don't have the eye for it. I bet someone here does. ;) Either it is just me or it is more difficult to create a character's appearance in DAI than in DA2, though obviously you get more options too which is good for those who are good at this thing.

I'm aware that Bethany wasn't a likeable character because of her appearance alone but much because of her nature as a character, but I know that I'm not the only one that hopes to be able to play a character that looks like her in DAI!

I've tried this, messing around to create a more accurate Hawke. Unfortunately you can't because none of the presets match Bethany or Elandra's cranial shape. They both have broad faces with high cheek bones and in the DA:I CC you can't lower the eyes far enough to create a balanced heart-shape face.

The biggest annoyance is that a good chuck of the hairs in da2's character creator aren't around, likely to fit all the buzz cuts(seriously, why'd they put so many of those?!). I was unable to recreate my Hawke exactly. And if I wanted to look like the Comte du launcet I should!

It had nothing to do with your class or sex. The color/preset options determined them.

Mine got me a really ugly Hawke family, the first time. :(
