I am almost done with main story, and the question is: why the Skyhold is still looking almost like at the begining. Of course I see the changes but there are still walls in ruin in some places, towers in bad shape etc.

Is there a way to fix it or it's going to be this way? Should I look for more quarries or it's pointless?

Pointless. After the one perk with the forward scouts, I got all the logging stands and quarries and they are never used. Skyhold will still have gaping holes. You would think those would be a priority over pots in the courtyard.

They made such a big deal about how Skyhold could and would change through the game depending on your choices, and so far for me, its minimal as was said.  Holes and rubble, and the dungeon in the basement is in total ruin.  Of course, I haven't had a single opprotunity to throw anyone into it either, which I thought that we would as well.

The are codexes in the dungeon about why it won't be restored actually.

And you can throw people into it by saying 'imprison them' in judgements.

The thing that annoys me is that i'm one quest from finishing the game, and the corridor to the war room still has a massive hole in it.

The dungeon makes sense though, when you first go in there if you co through the second door a codex pops up from your construction workers saying that the foundation is cracking and they highly suggest making no changes to it or the whole thing could crumble in.  Also if you judge people to go to jail they should go there (I think, I've never done it so I could be wrong).

Ya I thought Skyhold would update after each main story mission but it doesn't, just after the 3 major ones.  The thing that annoys me though is the hallway to the war room, I do like though that there's banter referencing it.  Josie talks about how cold it is, and Cullen says it's annoying when the wind blows making everything scatter

I wonder if skyhold rebuilding will be part of the future content to be provided in patches down the road.

I thought it strange that some of the upgrades didn't seem to do much of anything,

Oh my, the hole next to the war room, you would think that would be a priority, everytime i go to the war room i always comment on it. I think the masons have found the room with all the booze down in the room close to the war room and they are drinking it all!!

It's weird, I felt more attached to my fortress in Awakenings than I do skyhold.

The changes I made in that  actually had a story impact.

Ive only had three chances to judge people, and another that was for humor.  Chose jail for two but it was in their homeland.  Personally executed the other.

Yes, I would have expected to see more changes gradually, as time goes on, in Skyhold. At the very least, one would expect that rooms with rubble in them would have that rubble cleared out, and the room cleaned, maybe even furnished properly. And a gaping hole in the wall next to the war room? The half collapsed part of the battlement? No stone masons among the Inquisition's forces?

Like everyone else the hole in the wall on the way to the War Room actually ****ed me off.

Not one dev looked at that and said...

"you know, players will be running passed this 89,000 times over the course of a single game, maybe it should be one of the things fixed".

This.

Also, I'm sure I recall it being said quite recently that a lot of content didn't make it into the game for launch day, and will be added over time through free patches/updates, so that could explain the lack of skyhold upgrades, particularly as it is mainly aesthetic, therefore not as crucial for launch day as, say, the main story...

I have the same feeling. It's sad.

We'll see. I hope you're right but I'm angry that they give us something like this.

Thanks. It's good to know because I was going to look for those quarries and logging stands. Eh...

I assume that the big hall next to kitchen and the library there are in mess too... It's such a waste of space.

You think hole in the wall is annoying?... Have you seen where your Commander is supposed to uhm..have his rest?..

Furs or not, it has no bloody roof!

I know this but why did they do that? I would have liked to get the keep looking as good as new and having as many upgrades as possible. I would have spent days repairing and upgrading every area if the option had been there.

It's not that it takes away massively from my over all enjoyment of the game it's just an opportunity missed IMHO.

I know this but why did they do that?

Character, perhaps?

At the end of the day, it's a role playing game, where character and environments matter. It's not the sims.

Maybe, but I would still love to up grade that dungeon. Make it a place my enemies would fear to be sent to.

You also have to think though we are building on top of at least 3 other people's stuff.  Or maybe the dungeon is super elfy and it just can't be rebuilt

"What's this? You want a gorgeous orlesian bed in your chambers? Done."

"What? Fix the giant holes in the wall that would get us all slaughtered in an attack? Nawwww..."

"Oh, you want a throne made out of the mouth of a dragon? You got it!"

"What? Use some of the lumber laying around to make you a storage chest? Pfffffft!"
