I just went through gathering the materials required to upgrade my main tower. After I finally found the "upgraded" main tower, I feel like I wasted my time. That's another thing...I had a hard time finding it, which means it's really not that noticeable. I've also upgraded the chantry garden area, only to get a few flower pots.

If we're going to upgrade Skyhold, Bioware, please make it more useful. For example, if I decide I want the main tower to accommodate mages, then perhaps include unique mage gear/schematics in a treasure chest there.  If we upgrade the garden, it could provide exclusive reagents for a powerful potion/tonic/grenade.

I realize others have brought this up, but I wanted to put in my two cents.

I agree. The "upgrades" were really disappointing and barely noticeable.

I have a gut feeling that this is the result of cut content, and I'm hoping for a patch (or even a DLC) to rectify this.

Agreed. To me personally theres no reason to do something if it doesnt make an actual difference in the world or gameplay. But you do have alot of those people who like to play dress up and barbie dolls and deck out thier castle just for the sake of adding new carpets or those fluffy pink drapes....lol.

Such will be the epitaph of this game.

A mage tower to rival the greatest circles.

Three dingy rooms stacked on each other.

Yeah, I hope expansions or future games really branch out the keep upgrading, even cosmetically it didn't really serve a purpose.

It's a valid excuse. This is a game that very much could have done with several more months of development time. Or a less grand ambition.

There's definitely more potential to Skyhold than what we see at the moment, maybe a future DLC/expansion pack will make upgrades feel more important.

If they're not going to fix the walls can they just please get rid of the bricks lying all over the floor? And also clean out the broken furniture and cobwebs?

Did anyone else laugh out loud when you very first get to SkyHold and the place is an utter wreck, but somehow Josephine's office is this perfectly clean, warm fancy room with a roaring fire and comfy chairs?

Yeah....the upgrades.......

I was expecting that when I built the mage tower, the mages in the library would all move there as their new home, instead of squatting in the library. Nope. Schematics or an awesome staff in a chest would have been awesome.

I chose the herb garden over the chantry garden for the increased pots, but it really only seemed to change one corner of the garden. That and some of the seeds are bugged so you can't get all the seeds. (Crystal Grace, Deathroot, etc...)

Finally, the training grounds vs the infirmary. I went with the infirmary, cause I felt being able to heal wounds took priority. And I couldn't find the new infirmary. I expected all the tents with dieing people at the gate would be replaced by a cleaner and better equipped facility, or at least would vanish. Nope. They were still there. I finally noticed that the little broken down building next to where Cassandra was had been fixed, and it holds a whole 2 or 3 beds as the new infirmary. Wow....anticlimatic.

Next time, give me the option of a pool. (oh wait, my Inquisitor can't swim. nvm. )

On a side note...the decorations for Skyhold. Lots of windows and drapes. But no Dalish style throne or bedding? Can't we get complete sets? Maybe some dwarven or elven themed decoration stuff to. And more bed types then just 7 flavors. *shrugs* I'd buy it as dlc.

Exactly what I was thinking. Why did they clean up my room, added nice, new furniture...  but didn't even bother to remove the bricks from the stairs leading up to my chambers?

There are holes in the walls, can't they patch that up? Perhaps slap some wooden boards over it at first, then fix it properly at a later time.

Upgrading Skyhold felt very disappointing. A new courtyard... but after making my choice, I couldn't see a difference. A few days later I stumbled into my new "hospital". Wow. Totally worth it. -.-

I bet most people chose the herb garden because the chantry garden? Completely pointless.

That I am disappointed now means I didn't lower my expectations enough after playing DA2, ME3 and SW:TOR. I should have known better.

I was thankful I had the infirmary, because I was sure my inquisitor was going to land up there with a broken nose or sprained ankle from tripping over the abounds of debris!

Could we also maybe finish the roof in Cullen's room? It's just sad making the poor commander sleep in the cold naked as he does.

As an aside though, the Pots in the garden ARE useful. There should really be more of them, though. Only planting six items at a time is kind of lame.

You have to find the infirmary first. :P

Hehe, although I didn't have trouble with that; it's right next to the quartermaster's station.

Yeah, I honestly thought it would be a clean white tent in place of the ragged tents in the front of the castle. Not off hidden in a corner while those tents and dieing people are still lying there.

The Templar tower looks like a home for two people. Comical really. How few Templars do I have anyways? looks like five.

It's sooo dingy, and I feel for the poor wounded trapped in there with Surgeon; she favours leeches! Eugh, medieval medicine.

Lol, and my inquisitor was so excited to have a templar tower, and how they'd feel like a true inquisition. Poor thing with her lofty ideals.

I was hoping I'd be able to peer over an edge and see an army of encampments across a tundra showing me that indeed I am in fact an inquisitor and I have armies at my beck and call.   Nope,   I'd say I've got about 60 people at my little keep.  Thedas shall tremble at my awesome power indeed.

I'm treated as the HERALD of ANDRASTE and am practically worshiped and this is the state of my stronghold?  I'm to go out and do all of my own battles with a small party.  SOME inquisitor.

Frankly,  I enjoyed the hell out of this game but I do feel my importance was drummed up to more than the surroundings I was provided.

Or worse...she mentioned to me a new medical procedure that involves drilling holes in a person's head to relieve various ailments.

I visibly cringed. Please give me back my healing mages.

Or when she tells you that amputation is almost always the best bet? Eugh, please never touch me!
