I have the feeling she's supposed to be funny. Except she isn't.
Yeah, she's pretty much just terrifying.

If anything, she's a good reminder of some of the horrible early practices of medicine. ![]()
I'll just go over to the other side of the stronghold.
Or worse...she mentioned to me a new medical procedure that involves drilling holes in a person's head to relieve various ailments.
I visibly cringed. Please give me back my healing mages.
I would seriously be afraid to visit that surgeon LOL. I'll keep the arrow in my knee (*cough*) rather than have her amputate. ![]()

And she's as excited about it as Dagna is about magic. ![]()
Yep. I'll travel to the College of Mages in search of a rare healer. Hell, I'll just die, thank you. Or ask Cole to kill me. He offers up a nice, clean, quick and painless death after all. ![]()
You know, I've been keeping an eye on this forum since launch and cannot help but notice that most of you really enjoy the game.
Then, various threads appear which describe a specific issue and how it negatively affects the gameplay.
And step by step, you agree and realize 'You are right, I'm disappointed they didn't include this or that' or 'This had so much potential, but unfortunately they didn't capitalize on the chance to make this particular segment great', and then add 'oh well, they probably will release DLCs and expand on some features, but that's ok, I'm gonna pay 10 buck for a couple of new haircuts, because the current ones are baaad'.
Listen to yourself.

I'd try to, but its hard to listen to text on a computer screen.
Maybe I'll try harder? *strains herself* Nope. Nothing but the sound of clicking keys. Ah well...
Any act of verbal communication is an instance of concepts which materialize as language items during cognitive processes - these are referred to as 'thoughts' which in your imagination are spoken within the frame of mind by an unspecific, innate voice.
Maybe this is the origin of the phrase 'I can't hear my thoughts'.
Unless your cognitive processes are non-existent. Do you suggest you are an utter moron who is not capable of thinking?
I selected to Train the Soldiers option and what I got was a wrestling size ring with two guys dancing with swords or something..... Now this is a Total Letdown!

Still sounds better then the dinky Infirmary that houses a mad woman. =P
There's absolutely no point to turn the courtyard into a Chantry as you never get the tithes the text promises. Go for the useless 2 more plant pots.
Yep Skyhold upgrades are super underwhelming.
Garden starts out ok. Garden upgrade isn't terrible in terms of farming for plants. Chantry upgrade as far as I know no one has ever found how you get the tithe. Visual change? Couple more pots or a statue.
Other upgrades provide nothing other then maybe a banner piece. I would at least expect some kind of benefits or visual upgrade. But sadly majority of Skyhold remains in ruins and unkept.
I felt that making the mage tower would at least move some of the mage party members to that location. That would have made it cooler and give me a reason to go there.
ACTUALLY you can see your forces across the tundra. You just only see them in one place. If you go to the VERY front of your castle on the wall you can overlook hundreds of tents on the river. I was actually somewhat impressed with it but expected it to grow more as the castle got cleaned up which it....hasn't really. Though the castle is MUCH cleaner since I did some main story missions and put up some decorations. Main hall looks like a place people would actually like to stay when the game decides to load in all the tables and furniture.
I WILL agree though that the fact that the garden is the only useful non-cosmetic upgrade of the three is a bit annoying. But getting 4 more flower pots was nice at least.
"We wanted it to be worthwhile but we ran out of time...but please pay us for full price regardless!"
Fixed.
It would've be cool if they took a page from ME2's final sequence and have a huge attack on Skyhold towards the end of the game, either from Red Templars or a rift appearing above the hold. Then, depening on which upgrades you made, the outcome of the battle varies greatly including parts of the hold being destroyed, allied forces dying, and even companions dying. For example, if you chose the training grounds then your soldiers are stronger and the hold is less destroyed; but if you chose the infirmary then less of your forces are killed or a companion can be saved.
To be honest many things done in RPG are purely CosMedic in nature, I do not fault them for this, and I am not a fan boy, I plow the game where I think it needs it.
Game is huge in quest's over all, and many are just to allow you more leveling area, and more expansion to your fantasy role playing.
It's actually all about the rift
(Until something changes) , so fortifying the Influence, and power point's, and allowing you to explore, and mostly enjoy the Digital world that has been create if mostly enough I think.
However I don't think it is a bad Idea to have these expantions of your main fort make a difference, I just do not mind that they were not made to be absolutely needed, or over powering.
And to that extend optional to you as a side event you could omit if you wanted too or do for extra jollies.

I don't need to pay ten bucks...there's a good chance there will be modded content.
I agree with most if not all sentiments, some time ago ( a few years actually) I made post about how things could upgrade and how the game could easily re-act to those choices. I feel the post was actually read because many things out of it where in the game! Which well (toot!, my own horn) but alas it was and is a great game now, but man could it have been SOOOO much better by these simple ideas posted.
Add a Templar building , get a few Templar quest and see more Templars in the final battles and prior ones. Same goes for mages. Now don't take me wrong devs, I am fully aware of the time it takes to implement such things, hell even more so because you have to basically re-write a whole engine to make it "rpg'ish" which btw, awesome work! but alas in an expansion or dlc, you really could just go crazy with details now that you have the world engine going. Things like these details would really make the game flourish.
Btw, I love the companion stuff, but alas I can't believe I am going to write this, it was almost to much ! While I am not part of the team nor does my words carry any heavy weight, I could only imagine taking some of those teams that worked on other aspects and fleshed out more of the main keep and retro specs encounters ones actions could have made. Hmmm while I know sometime ago you stated that it won't be an rts (as so many of the (hmm can't call them carebarish) but well people that didn't care for such details made their voices loudest, I do find it odd that more now ((and might I add even those that where against it initially) now ask for such details or why it really didn't effect their game play.
In the end, the game was really amazing, I think I ranked up 200 hours in the thing, but wow could so much more be done with it. My only real true end suggestion here is thinking beyond one region or sticking to the old dlc makeup or expansions of way things are stuck to a new region or two. Want my honest and humble opinion, when you do come out with something new, make that infest all over different maps, new caves open up, new undergrounds, new enemy camps. Sure the inquisition has a representation, but as the story said, there are those aiming at that very power. So yeah , people love new areas, but you can easily expand that content by doing the above suggested with some minor investment in development and time compared to laying out a whole new location. Well ok, I want a new location too hhaah! not asking for much I know.
It is odd that you have to pick between the mage or templar upgrade when ...there is still an empty room here and there once you have 'completed' the upgrades. With all the space and with all the extra resources you'd think we could get both upgrades. And I agree with the blink-and-you-miss-it upgrades in the garden. The herb garden upgrade is just three extra pots ![]()
Yeah the upgrades are pretty bad.
The training yard is tiny and conflicts with an Iron Bull cutscene, which is kinda funny. Besides that, the spot where the infirmary would have been is just left as a pile of rubble next to the requisition office. I'm not sure why this even needed to be a choice, since these two upgrades don't cover the same spot.

It's the illusion of choice. You get to pick A or B and then the game pretends it mattered. I still don't see why we can't fix Skyhold completely.
There are a quite a few curious things about Skyhold anyway. Vivi lives on a balcony overlooking the throne room and the courtyard on the other side. Which means anyone there can see her, too. Doesn't she need privacy? Is she an exhibitionist? Solas is almost the same, everyone in the library and rookery can look down at him at all times.
Where are my people sleeping? I know Cullen, Vivi and perhaps Sera have a bed and I found some places where my workers and soldiers sleep but what about Varric, Leliana, Dorian, Josephine or Cassandra?
Skyhold never gets finished, it doesn't even get cleaned up properly. Which is kind of disappointing.
Not bothering to upgrade anything except the herbs garden.. That appears to be usefull.
I just went through gathering the materials required to upgrade my main tower. After I finally found the "upgraded" main tower, I feel like I wasted my time. That's another thing...I had a hard time finding it, which means it's really not that noticeable. I've also upgraded the chantry garden area, only to get a few flower pots.
If we're going to upgrade Skyhold, Bioware, please make it more useful. For example, if I decide I want the main tower to accommodate mages, then perhaps include unique mage gear/schematics in a treasure chest there. If we upgrade the garden, it could provide exclusive reagents for a powerful potion/tonic/grenade.
I realize others have brought this up, but I wanted to put in my two cents.
Yes, I get the impression the whole upgrade things for Skyhold and the completely cut feature of upgrading strongholds was severely nerfed in order to get the game out in time.
