Has Bioware touched base on the subject of expansion pack or they going to just release some dlc? Also' this game has been great, im about half way through everything on my PS4 and it's been a learning experience.
Well done Bioware....

I personally hope that BioWare goes with the expansion route. DLCs always seem to end right as I am getting really into them. I would rather wait six months for a full fledged expansion than get a couple missions worth of DLC.
I'd be surprised if they did not substantially expand the game, regardless of how they go about doing it. Inquisition itself seems like a very strong framework for expansion. A lot of the game's systems feel like they were designed to be open-ended so that new content could be seamlessly added to the game. Especially the world map and war table systems. And the Crafting+Schematics systems would help ensure that players get maximum value out of any new equipment assets they might add to the game.

I agree. It all feels very foundational.
I just hope its story DLC, I'm not a fan of "filler." You know, go here and do this thing that has nothing to do with anything else in the game. I hate those kind of DLC, I never buy them.
Others like them, and that's fine, to each their own.
You could easily build another game or a very large expansion with what Dragon Age Inquisition has right now. So I'm hoping for a very big expansion.
Yep I've said this in my review : the verge of greatness, I'll be very surprised if we don't get an expansion, but also id love to see a kind of directors cut with some more expanded scenes improving the main plot.
Bioware has a history of doing very large, good expansions. Mass Effect 2 & 3 both had great ones. I never did the ones for Origins, but I read that they were really good as well. I couldn't do any large data downloads at the time. I'm hopeful that they will, and I'll likely hold off on a second playthrough until some is added. I'm nowhere near through my first.
I hope they make one expansion/dlc with more political intrigue. For example, a story about 2 states (or countries) in Free Marches that are in bad terms with each other and if they go to war, pretty much every state in the Free Marches declares war to each other. The Inquisition must go there and:
- Stop the war;
- Provoke the war but favor one side;
- Provoke the war and let them kill each other and take the Free Marches for the Inquisition;
Bioware has a wonderful universe and if Im not mistaken the Frosbite3 engine can last still for many years to be able to create current gen content. The team needs to figure how to tame the capricious nature of Frostbite3, then stuff should come out more smoothly and possibly more as BioWare fans expect it to be.
DA Origins lasted quite long and DAI, well I have no idea as Industry reviews are positive but users reviews and opinions are very 50-50.
DLCs, that is certain but expanding on that specific game, hard to tell as EA really like getting new titles every year for some series without being new.
Honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if this game sold very well, they didn't do a full fledged Dragon Age Inquisition: 2. I know they said they wouldn't, but this game feels so foundational I wouldn't be surprised if they gave it a try if the dollars and cents pointed that way.
Dont forget RDA, sales are just numbers and wont take note of the buyers remorse numbers or actual replay value of the product.
By EA, just sale numbers counts and customer satisfaction or even loyalty is not part of their metrics. Already the multiplayer is a big sign of this.
Return to Kirkwall expansion pack: experience Kirkwall like never before. This time populated with two dozen people!
But seriously, now that we have a ladder system we could climb to the rooftops and fight all the bad guys before they get to jump down on us. Ambush them for a change.
I'd really like to see an expansion. Possibly open up some more cities like Denerim or Kirkwall. Highever would be nice to see. Maybe something regarding elves rebuilding a new city.
Hopefully some more story focused DLC or bigger expansion.
Some of the optional sidequests that related to the main story quite often fell flat at the end.

A bit off - Bioware is actually not a big name in xpacks for their games. If you look at all their major releases, very few ever had full blown expansions. Blizzard is an example of a company that does MASSIVE and amazing expansions. Bioware has very much moved to DLC as their preferred delivery of choice for "extending" the experience.
While I've overall enjoyed much of the DLC Bioware has done, I hope - greatly - that they go back to the Baldur's Gate 2 xpack methodology for DAI. A huge extension onto the existing formula, bracketed and supported by smaller DLC if possible.
Not sure why people are treating DLC and expansion as two separate things as an expansion these days can be DLC. So it's more of a matter of how big of a DLC they want to make and what price they want to charge.

I agree this can be an interchangeable term but I think most of us consider expansions different in that they are generally a large scale extension onto the existing game - new classes, races, regions, skills, etc. DLC for most companies tends to be a smaller offering with one or two new regions/zones, maybe some new gear and obviously story components.
While the two terms are interchangeable in some sense, given that most of us have been gaming since before DLC became a real thing, expansion does have a much different meaning compared to the standard fare of DLC we see from companies these days.
My preference would be expansion, though I'm happy to support the game regardless.
Bioware could easily make an entirely new game within this game. Set before/during/after the main story, using the same locations and assets. Would love to see another group of characters running through this world at the same time the Inquisition is going on.
Any one of those little story bits on the war table could be turned into an adventure.
DLC is a sure bet, we're talking about EA here (poor Bioware
). An expansion would be great but we'll never know. There's always the possibility
