Will DAI expand or just DLC?

I hope they make one expansion/dlc with more political intrigue. For example, a story about 2 states (or countries) in Free Marches that are in bad terms with each other and if they go to war, pretty much every state in the Free Marches declares war to each other. The Inquisition must go there and:

- Stop the war;

- Provoke the war but favor one side;

- Provoke the war and let them kill each other and take the Free Marches for the Inquisition;

Would love this a Free Marches DLC, because the Free Marches are pretty small so that would be a good fit for a big DLC (leaving the Anderfels, Tevinter, Antiva or Nevarra for Dragon Age 4).

I love how they remade Ferelden in DAI and I would to see the same stuff for the Free Marches with the Frostbite to see Kirkwall again or Ostwick or the Vimmark Mountains.

I'm definitely in favor of an expansion pack (even in the form of large DLC) over smaller DLC packs. I'd like to see the game expanded both story wise and in companion interaction; something I feel is very important in Bioware games.

I do hope we get a sizable addition of content for Inquisition that doesn't replace our current companions and isn't sparse on story or companion interaction. I'd prefer as much content as possible for Dragon Age Inquisition since a 4th Dragon Age game would be a ways off and we've only just recently experienced the third iteration.

Can be either as long as they include Desire Demons, I'll be happy.

I'd really like to see an expansion. Possibly open up some more cities like Denerim or Kirkwall. Highever would be nice to see. Maybe something regarding elves rebuilding a new city.

100% agree with this, would love to see next gen versions of Denerim and Kirkwall, as long as they are more familiar than the revamped Redcliffe was...I want to easily recognize places I went to in previous games

We've already been to those places. Thedas is huge, Bioware is focusing on new locations not old. Otherwise the next game would still be in southern Thedas rather than the north.

You could easily build another game or a very large expansion with what Dragon Age Inquisition has right now. So I'm hoping for a very big expansion.

I'm personally hoping for an Awakenings level expansion that is a big game on its own right with a new map, new companions to recruit (but still being able to keep any companions that stayed with you in DAI), and a whole new story that still fits into the story of DAI.

Plus, Legacy and MoTA level DLC would be greatly appreciated, especially if Hawke or even the Warden (which would probably be easier to do in standalone DLC like MoTa) shows up in them.

lol I actually loved the revamped Redcliffe even tho it was basically a parallel world version of the one in DAO due to how different it was.

I enjoyed recognizing some of the features, such as the light tower and docks. And I just took the place as how the world was always meant to look like.

We are talking about a DLC here, of course Thedas is big but Bioware need to keep Nevarra, Antina, Seheron, Tevinter or the Anderfels for DA4 and DA5, so for something small it would be great to see a next gen version of Kirkwall and the Free Marches or even Denerim. I m sure the feeling would be great and fresh just like for Redcliffe.

Bioware has recently said they're not doing anymore expansions for Dragon Age. Awakening cost them too much time and resources for too little reward. As for how much DLC we'll get, it probably depends on how well the base game the first DLC does is my guess. I'm sure they're a bit gun shy after DA2 and its unsuccessful DLC's.

I think they've hinted an expac.  Don't quote me on that though.

I'd rather see DLC than an expac.  Bioware have an absolutely stellar record with DLC (Levi Dryden excepted).  They could do pretty hard dungeons with great background lore (Amgarrak, Legacy, Warden's Keep) or fun, story-based missions (MotA, Leliana's Song, Return to Ostagar).  Also since Dragon Age has gone semi-open, there's a third option of giving us a new area (I really want to see the Aeonar).

Yeah, with expacs people feel they need to be dedicated fans (or even just have finished the game) to play, which limits the audience.  The high price point compared to DLC can be off-putting as well.

Exactly.

Engine/Graphics improvements make things look more faithful to the original concept by virtue of having better tools to realize it.

Saying otherwise implies that old school stick figures are supposed to be faithful representations of humanoids.
