Hey inquisitors, I was thinking of buying the game, and when I learned about the "keep" feature I couldn't help but wander what happens with Wardens that have custom classes/origins: I am using the "Dalish Mage Origin" mod, so what will happen when I import him to the keep?

Did anyone already try this?

my dalish mage was not imported... you can't import a warden whose class is not vanilla... however it doesn't affect hairs, eyes or voices mods. Feel free to import those

So does the import option not appear at all or does it simply default him back to rogue/warrior class?

I too used the Dalish Mage mod and when I used the character in the Keep it left him an elf and went by what class he was, a mage, and gave me the Mage background.

From my recollection of DAI,

the HoF's specialisation...

Spoiler

So the import doesn't matter.

I guess I'll be better off making a random dalish warrior and just rebuild my story then, kudos to everyone for the quick awnser!

There's no import. The Keep is just a questionnaire about the Warden. You fill it out.

You never use your DAO save file for anything.

I still wish I could make a Dalish mage. Such a shame I'm stuck in the circle.

Yes, of course, but there still is the choice of your hero.

My understanding was that it tries to fill out the questions as much as it can from the save, or were my playthroughs THAT generic?

Yes, of course, but there still is the choice of your hero.

The keep doesn't let you pick choices that aren't from the base game so no, you can't have a dalish mage warden - you either have to have a dalish warrior/rogue or a circle mage.

I understand that was originally a design objective, but I don't think it actually does that, no.

It does the names and portraits from your profile, but that's it. You need to manually fill it out.
