Ugh, I'm trying to log in to vote, but I can't remember my password. When I try to get a reminder/reset, I'm told that my e-mail address isn't registered, but when I try to create a new account, I'm told that my e-mail is already registered ... sigh.

It's like I said in the other thread, although I liked SoM and think Nemesis system is a great mechanic (that I hope it is explored by other future games), it's not exactly the new "Holy Grail". What I mean is, although it is great, it could do only so much... As soon you finish the main story, the only thing holding you to the game is the Nemesis system, and it grows old pretty quickly... (at least for me anyway)

As for DA:I, not only takes dozens of hours to complete the first playthrough, it makes you want to replay at least a second time with another class/race/gender. While SoM doesn't. Replay value is also very important.

I didn't even want to finish my first SoM playthrough and still haven't. SoM was dull and unimaginative and BORROWED half it's mechanics from other games. What little innovation it has doesn't make up for the fact you're playing an AC LOTR hybrid that has an unimaginative story and an unrelatable protagonist. I enjoyed the dark setting but it gets old fast, the main missions feel like side quests and some of the side quests are outright ridiculous in their nature. Good game if you're into LOTR but for people like me it was just another game that came free with my console.

This forum would be even more negative if inquisition had the flaws divinity has..

For me no game is GOTY this yeah. For GOTY I need a game that WOW me I didn't play a game that did this yeah. Shadow of Mordor came close to it thanks to great combat system in witch was ton of fun but that's to little to call it GOTY.  DA:I has to many problems dragging it down to call it GOTY

Apparently, some people don't trust the Game Award's GOTY. This is open voting, your voice count, so vote away guys. :)

Bayonetta 2 got a 10 on GS, but votes are lower because of number of Nintendo console owners.

goty should consist of something that brings forth innovation. dai doesn't do that. the game takes a simple formula of rinse and repeat filler content and throws it into a semi-open world. the nemesis system is innovation. it brings potential change to how games can be made in the future. while dai may be a good game, it has too many issues to be worthy of the title.

No, a GAME should be appreciated for the FUN factor; innovation and originality means nothing if it's boring...

Good to see Divinity doing so well. I enjoyed the actual tactical combat it had. Just wish the game had more companions and been a bit better written. They really need to bring in a good writer.

Hence subjective. I've had these fights on this board before. I grew up on Tolkien and always loved it, but I now infinitely prefer Thedas (which obviously took plenty of inspiration from Tolkien itself)  for a number of reasons outside the scope of this thread. Nemesis was awesome, but the story is eh and the protagonist is Troy Baker. I mean, really.

I think it is closer linked to the Wheels of Time series which did take a lot of it's ideas from LotR.
