I was recently a victim of account fraud where someone illegally bought FIFA 15 on my account and got caught hacking, I got a pop up in DAI stating my account has been banned. I chekced my emails, where I discovered these illegal fraudulent purchases and immediately informed my bank and EA and got the money side worked out. Both agreed it was fraud and I will not be charged for the unauthorized purchases. Now the ball is in EA account disputes department and I haven't heard a word from them yet. Does anyone else have a similar experience and knows approximately how long it will take them to reverse the ban?

Last time something similar happened to another BSN member. He got the run-around from EA's support and it took a BBB complaint to finally get EA's attention. Everything was sorted out eventually.

Don't have an answer for you, but I'm curious if you can still play DA:I or other games despite the ban.
Hopefully you won't have to wrestle with EA over the fact that you went to your bank about the fraud too, they can be jerks about that apparently.

Thanks for the reply, I've tried asking around in different fora but it's like I have net-leprosy or something, no one wants to talk to me. It hasn't been 24 hours since I've talked to EA and submitted an appeal but an acknowledgement from them that they are investigating would do alot for my peace of mind. After all, EA has acknowledged that it was fraud so it should be pretty cut and dry.

The game still loads, but I'm cut off from online features like multiplayer and even the keep. It's an Origin-wide ban that affects the online features of all my games.

These are the best place I can think of to get answers if you haven't tried them yet.

Thanks, I've already talked to an EA rep on the phone (Patrick, who was very helpful in his field, secured my refund) but the account dispute process is very opaque. I've also posted a similar thread in the EA answers site and nothing. I have taken the proactive step of submitting a BBB complaint from advice in this thread. I have a bad feeling this is going to take a while to resolve.

I remember the case that bmwcrazy brought up and after the user contacted the BBB, he got a fairly immediate and positive resolution.
It might take a while, but contacting the BBB will definitely force a response from EA's side and is the best move that you could have made in my opinion.
You've got my best wishes, I hope things are resolved in your favor.
Please keep us posted, I'm sure we are all interested in how this turns out. ![]()

Even Valve suspends accounts for credit card chargebacks. EA would rather refund you the money themselves than having a chargeback.

If you were hacked and you did everything you could to recover your account then it's their job to help you.

Still no reply from EA/Origin so I sent a third email. I'm going to take the Andy DuFrame approach and write one every day until this is resolved.

Only other thing I have found

Probably already seen it though it does say investigations can take longer depending on the situation, still a bit vague though.

First you need to choose your inspector for investigations from these two:

Just got an email from EA, the situation has been resolved, the ban overturned. I must say I'm very pleasantly surprised that this got solved so quickly. My friendly complaint to the BBB lit a fire it seems! ![]()

At least they listen...
Only if Microsoft would do the same.
