And if so, can someone provide a list, so I can see if I should take any certain ones on more than others?

One of those high level Dragons dropped a really nice 1 handed sword; better than any I could craft with a nice high base damage but maybe I just couldn't find the right schematic. Aside from that, some of the loot they dropped was at best equal or very similar to my crafted gear, but usually worse.

Oh and I think some of them dropped some unique accessories, so those were neat.

Set loots in one of the best aspect of dragon fight.

You just fought a tough opponent, you should get nice loot.
If you overlevel, fight the dragon way below your level, then you get worthless loot. Thats fair enough

If by pre-set you mean guaranteed dagger drops, then yes.

Yes, the loot is pre-set and quite good. Even the low level ones.

I'd say particularly the low level ones.

It is nice when they drop purple rings, and the purple weapons you can get from them while you are otherwise limited to T2 can be very good, but once you hit T3 territory the dragon weapons and armour suffer the same fate as the unique items you can buy in shops (with and without the short list perk) - they just don't cut it. Crafted gear is greatly superior in almost cases, even if you are limited to the schematics regularly available for purchase, so long as you focus on crafting gear with stats that support your class and ability build.

Loot is preset, but it's bad - aka not a game changer weapon / armor etc. The main point of killing the dragons is for the unique crafting materials they are dropping, as well the ton of XP.
