I would like to see him included the future installments, but we probably won't get more than a cameo because

I've never gone against Abelas.  But even if you make that choice, could he still show up later?

i don't know the extent of what happens if you kill him.  Could he go into Uthenera and heal himself?  Possible explanation/work around for those that killed him.

We've already had characters like

so I guess anything is possible if the plot truly demands his presence.

Yeah it's been done .... enough.  Just playing around with the idea of the possibility.

I didn't do the rituals on my last playthrough because I made a pro Templar/Chantry Zealot. I was all for him destroying the well but then IT happened. I screamed so loud my mum came running in to make sure I was okay. Never again will I skip the rituals.

Cool didn't know this thread existed, don't think we need to tag spoilers here because it's a spoiler zone but I'll do it anyway. 

 

I think he could appear in future games/DLC because:

They can simply add it to the Keep as an option of whether he dies or not as they've done with other characters.

 

 

Even if it's just a cameo or even a codex entry, I'm positive they'll let us know what happens to him after DAI. Perhaps he knows the locations of other similar temples?

Why make such an amazing character only to use him for all of 5 minutes and never again?

 

It's entirely possible Bioware could use him for a bigger role in the next game (or DA:I DLC) since we know it will be dealing with Fen'harel and all that Elvhen god pantheon stuff. Abelas is already primed for that.

That having been said, I am so tempted to play a Sith Warrior again in SWTOR because I think it's the same VA as Abelas, though on a lower pitch.

Speaking of his VA did we learn who voices him?People speculate thats it's Gideon Emery but I'm not so sure tbh.

Sounds like him.

 

He's voiced other NPCs in the game, so he's definitely part of the cast.

I'm not convinced he's Gideon Emery, but you can hear him again if you go to that Elven ruin in the far northeast corner of the Emerald Graves. That one Dalish guy from the Hawen clan is hanging out there and the voice actor is the same guy who does Abelas. (I hate how that one lady tells me to "Keep away, stranger," even though I'm Dalish. WTH?")

I don't think it's Gideon Emery. Even when he changes his voice pattern it's still recognizably him.

 

My mind keeps thinking that it's the guy who played Haldir, but I'm not sure why.

Sounds like it could be Mark Bazeley to me.  He did the Sith Warrior in SWTOR.

Thanks so much for posting this! So gosh. Solas is old. Abelas is also very old, but not quite. Interesting, interesting. So many attractive bald elf men.

 

At least I hope I can romance one of these attractive bald elf men with my human gal. /sigh But anyhoo, love Abelas. Found him very intriguing.

I just started a new playthrough with an Abelas-clone Inquisitor! It turns out, you can make Quizzy look nearly identical to Abelas. I wish I could show y'all what he looks like, but I'm playing on a PS3 and, not only are the graphics crap, I can't take any screenshots. Funnily enough, because I made him a bald elf (I figure he's bald under that hood), the graphics don't look all that bad for him. No hair or eyebrows to muck up his look.

 

It took about 2 hours, but it was worth it. He doesn't sound quite the same (English male Inquisitor is the closest sounding), but I like seeing him look the way he would without the hood. Maybe I'll even slap a cowl on his head when I get one. 

 

(If anyone might be interested in trying, I used the very bottom-most male elf default face/head you can choose from.)

I'd also like to see screenshots!

 

I could never get the eye or chin shapes right.  Also, why does only the male elf get the greenish skin tone?

I wish I could show everybody how my Abelas turned out, but I can't do that with a PS3 (besides, everybody will get mad at the bad graphics quality). 

 

I did, however find SOMEONE ELSE'S version of Abelas that they created on the PC....

That's really good. I think I would make him bald though.
