This is soooooooooo beautiful! This is your art Swevenfox? You are an amazing artist!! I know he was not in the game for long but there is something so very poignant about his character. Sorrow and elves has always seemed fitting to me especially if they are immortal or very long lived. Change must be very hard for them. Rambling, but love this!
Those two were not my work (the traditional painting was done by my gf to me for v-day actually) I not too comfortable post up my own works (unless asked) as I dislike self promotion.

I never could find the words to properly express how I envision Abelas, because it is painful and deeply emotional rather than logical. But the way he is written on this tumblr does him justice.

What? For real? But no, this thread NEEDS your art, and any WIP or sketch or doodle you make of Abelas or any DA-related thingies, to be honest. Please, do not think of it as self-promotion rather than sharing the things you love with people that will love them so very much they'll always enjoy you posting them.
I've never seen an artist self-promoting around here, just people sharing all sorts of fan contents they made, be it fanarts, fanfictions, edits, videos, and just wanted to share them with people who'd appreciate them.
Plus, artists posting their own art can give further insights about it, and emulate others to create as well, so it's all a win!
Anyway, I don't wanna force you to anything, especially if you're not at ease about it, god knows I know how it can be uncomfortable, but if there's any place to do it, these forums are definitely that place!
Path-of-sorrows is one excellent writer and their vision of Abelas is very deep and well thought and more then that, they can portray him greatly with their words. I got inspired many times by their stories and ideas and illustrated few already.
For a real Abelas fan I only can suggest that blog, because it is quality one and the person behind it is also a very sweet and loving person - I had chance to talk with them over email and also over Skype.

I think I worded myself a bit wrongly - English not my first language - I have bit of troubles with social interactions. Art is something visual, and visual things get often more recognition then other thing by my experience and I have difficulties handling attention especially if I get it sudden. Recently my fanarts got - compared for what I am used for - a lot of feed back. It is really great and makes me feel warm but other hand frightens me and cant react on it well. This is more of a reason for why I felt uncomfortable showing my contribution on this really awesome character.
Most of my works already got posted up, only few I think were not.

I completely understand. The writing is amazing and I can't imagine Abelas, in a serious context, portrayed any other way. I noticed the writer made a point of explaining what they were like as a person versus their rp of Abelas. I immediately got the impression they were a very sincere, thoughtful and deep individual.
Your work is amazing and I am so happy you decided to share it with us. I'm thankful to Delphine for giving you a little push this way 
But think of the potential of the hairy weapon! I have visions of ancient elves defeating their enemies with their hair now :/
Hair whips are totally a thing, right? Like Abelas uses a whip made of his own elvhen braid of power?

I hope this means we'll see more Abelas in the next DA game... Hopefully this is a step towards that.
I tried playing Heroes of DA but alas, it never did work on my phone.

I hope so!!! Will keep fingers and toes crossed. I realized that with all the LI's we have in DA:I the chances of Abelas being a new one are slim. I find that depressing since I only liked one of the romance options. This character has so much potential. If we do see him again I hope he is well written.
