OK, I did walk right into that one 
 
If there are other ancient elves out there, I wonder if he would try to seek them out as Solas suggests?  The way Solas said "your people yet linger" made me think he wasn't talking about the Dalish or the city elves.  How do you even go about trying to find other elvhen from Arlathan?  We're aware that Felassan belongs to a group of ancient elves of some kind, but that's about it.  It's not like there's a grumpy old elf registry lying about.

 Maybe they have like a "radar".  Like he says about the mark "the magic is...familiar".  He probably knows about where holy places used to be...places special to the elves and would likely travel there.  He can probably "sense" their magic.

If the gods did have vendettas, would those vendettas still extend to any ancient elvhen still surviving?  I'd hope they could put aside their differences given how different the world is, but that might not actually happen.  It would be pretty horrible if Abelas found, say, a hidden group of ancients dedicated to Falon'Din, and they just cold stabbed him

I'm hoping that Abelas had a life before the temple and maybe a couple of romantic relationships. So he knows how to live outside the temple. Of course the life was a little bit different at his time but still. Maybe something happened to him that made him join the sentinels or he was chosen for it. But anyway he become a sentinel. Because he needs to heal I think it would be fitting that he would be in DA4 and I think it would be fitting because I want him to be there and I want him to be LI So I'm hoping that he is a confident LI and he knows things. Of course the romance would start slowly because he has trust issues and he is probably cold but would evolve into something beautyful.

Perhaps one of the ancient sentinels has a key to an Eluvian? Perhaps there is a place where they are gathering. It would be interesting to happen upon a new continent and find it occupied by a bunch of grumpy elves.

I'd also love to see the old elven woman return that guides you through the temple. I just loved it when she told Sera off in my pt. I was like beat her with your walking stick!!! Then it was creepy when I noticed the old woman was really Abelas's model used again but hey maybe she could get a face in DA4.

Ah yes, I think if he was an LI his relationship would be beautiful. But since reading swevenfox's idea of a relationship with Abelas, I agree in that it would be nice to see it develop over a whole game as opposed to a single dlc.

Lol,she was a badass old woman indeed!Now that you mention it,I noticed that all the sentinels appear to use the same model with minor alterations(for example one of the sentinels has a slimmer nose, while the other has pink poutier lips,as well as different shapes and colours of Mythal's vallaslin),with Abelas ofcourse being the most distinct one,for obvious reasons.

I think it's possible that sentinels and other ancient elves can use Eluvians to travel so if that's true then most likely there are a lot of ancient elves somewhere waiting or just living.

 

I hope that if Abelas is a LI then he is LI in the next game because my Lavellans belong to Solas and I have hard time imagine that he would consider to be in a romantic relationship with somebody who isn't elf. Maybe I'm wrong but anyway all of my other PCs have boyfriends too so nobody is available to him.

Can you imagine the first game of Wicked Grace he attends? I bet he's really good at it but so serious that everyone is wildly uncomfortable. Worst game ever.

Yeah,for some reason I see Abelas' having a stoic personality and a very sarcastic,dry sense of humour.Besides the fact that he calls himself sorrow, from his dedication to Mythal only,one can tell that he's the kind of person that takes everything seriously.I'd say he's more wise than clever like in the way that Solas/Fen'harel is clever,without suggesting that he's not intelligent.
He just doesn't seem the kind to have an interest for intrigues and bluffs.

I could be wrong since he barely has enough screen time,but he's indeed a rather memorable character and relevant to the plot,so I'm being optimistic about a potential return.

Yeah,for some reason I see Abelas' having a stoic personality and a very sarcastic,dry sense of humour.Besides the fact that he calls himself sorrow, from his dedication to Mythal only,one can tell that he's the kind of person that takes everything seriously.I'd say he's more wise than clever,in the way that Solas/Fen'harel is,without suggesting that he's not intelligent.

I don't think he would have much patience for The Game.  I think he would be similar to Cassandra in that way.  He spent his life serving people that utilized their people like pawns for their own ends.  He would likely understand its necessity but would avoid it at all costs.

I can't either,besides it's not a coincidence that Solas' nickname is chuckles, or the fact that he revels in the intrigues and backstabbing of Orlesian politics.He has that trickster vibe,even if he's not as villainous as the Dalish portray him.

I can't see my Lavellan with Abelas,mainly because her romance with Solas had a meaningful impact on her and Abelas is probably the last person she'd date,after his remarks at the temple of Mythal.She respects him sure and is fascinated by the fact that ancient elves still exist but,she'd probably wouldn't go for it.I'd probably think the same about other Lavellans, who haven't romanced Solas or anyone else.
However,the idea of a new protagonist romancing him seems much better to me for some reason,if he'd be romanceable (because tbh,I do get an aromantic/asexual vibe from him).

I didn't notice that trickster vibe when I played but now that you mentioned it I think it's quite true. I don't think he is villain either but I wouldn't say he is a good guy either. But I like him that way and it would be a little bit weird if he would become either hero or villain. I think it would be the best if the player could decide if he is a villain or not when we see him again.

Yeah. I was being jokey - sort of.  Different strokes.  My character is different. After Solas' continual verbal abuse of the Dalish - she was pretty innurred to Abelas' at that point.  It was more eye-rolling than anything.  For mine, Solas was important to her - no doubt - but like...he left?  So you know, she had things to do. She had friends.  She moved on...she had to. Depending on the timeline of when he pops up again and the situation...'eh'. So the headcanon for Abellan - I dig it. It's fun.

 

As a player do I think it will happen - no.  I would prefer he gets his own game where he's better drawn and we get more time with him.

Yes.  I do get that impression as well.  In fact...that's my entire view of him.

All my Lavellans are waiting for Solas to come back and they will keep waiting for him until they die if he doesn't return of course. It's quite sad but that's the way it is. There is no Lavellan without Solas    So unfortunately they can't  be with Abelas.

It might not matter for the sentinels at the Temple of Mythal.  I mean, all they do is nap for a few hundred years, murder a bunch of guys, then go right back to napping and repeat the whole cycle.  Not a lot of time in there for skoodilypooping.

Sure,but I assume that the whole stasis thing, is a procedure that they follow after Mythal was murdered and the Temple was sealed.

What about before?They were probably awake during the time that she was "alive".

Well if he has taken some vows of chastity then aren't they invalid now that he isn't sentinel anymore? I believe that they are invalid now  if he took them in the first place. Besides I believe that he doesn't mind breaking them with my future PC anyway She will be so gorgeous.

True,however I'm still a bit curious about religious customs and priesthood in Arlathan.In fact I'm curious about a great deal of things that involve Arlathan.

I've got one Lavellan who probably won't take another lover after Solas and one who's going to jump Abelas, so, you know.
