He reminds me of Orsino. Evil, Dirthamen-tattooed Orsino.  Also the symbol on his chest kind of looks like the Inquisition one, but it could also be owl wings?  For Falon'Din?

I think i'm inclined to believe people who say that he may actually be someone's Inquisitor, but I guess the trailer should tell us more.

I'm in sentinel hell. Who's this elf? It really is a spoiler since it's supposedly leaked from the upsoming dlc... so look at your own risk. I have theories...  and I may just be cray cray but isn't that an Inquisition symbol on his chest?

Okay, you've all made me do it.  A plot bunny snagged Abelas and bounced around on my desk yesterday so I shot out what was intended to be a one-shot that's turned into a four-part thing.  I posted the first bit today.  Warning: there may be a bit of glitterotica Mythal in it.  Mythal's Sorrow

Ooh, thanks! I figure he just thinks he's doing his job but it just so happens that his job is being a badass for Mythal. i've got two more parts done and am working on the ending. If we see him again maybe I can expand the middle into more about his time at the temple but for now it's just a few glimpses.

I did have to laugh when I realized that Ameridan had Abelas's model and VA, though.  Guess all old-ass elves look the same or something

To be fair, I really loved the 2 minutes of Ameridan. So much potential and he would have been a fascinating LI because of his religious beliefs. Maybe we will see him in a book or maybe a dlc where we go back in time to be Telana. That would be awesome but I know it won't happen.

 

I really love Abelas but Ameridan was so personable and very hard not to like plus he really understood the Inquisitor's plight. Felt like the dlc had some touches with Scout Harding feeling the feels for my Lavellan and how hard her life is and letting her know she is appreciated. That was especially nice since I played the dlc post game. So no Solas. But it was also fun in that I realized my Inky was single and free to look around. LoL.

Yeah, it was nice getting to express a very mortal side to the Inquisitor.  And DAMN, so many hot, shirtless Avvar men   I am now fully on board the mountain barbarian train, as well as the ancient elf train.

Oh god. Really?  My poor Lavellan.  That whole area is like a candy store for her. Though TBH, running around with Solas again makes me feel things.  I honestly can't wait until we get all the DLC and I can just play through their story properly -- without interruption. This **** is not working for me.

I understand those feels. I actually avoid Solas and the Solas thread to a large extent because as stupid as it sounds the whole break up with my Lavellan really upset me and I don't/can't keep reliving it. It depresses me. So I had to play post game too. Hopefully there will be resolution but until then I'm sticking with the thighs. Plus, I know Ameriden was made to look older but the face is gorgeous. Just wish there was more of it.

I'm not really depressed, just now antsy for an end whereas before I was like 'eh..i just want more dragon age'. Now it's "I need to find out what happens to Solas".  I would recommend though - once we get everything - running that area with Solas. He has a lot of neat things to say about the spirits.  So he basically just nerds out and it is very adorable.  

 

I am hopeful we see abelas again and it's kind of nice they are using his voice actor for more stuff.  Maybe that's a sign??????

I hope so. He is a wonderful voice actor and I love listening to him. Especially liked Ameriden's memories.

I'm sorry if that came across wrong. I didn't mean to imply you were depressed. I get too invested in the characters. It's a bad habit but it's hard not to considering how well Solas is written. Agreed.. once the dlc is finished then I'll go back and hopefully know there is a satisfactory ending waiting

Ameridan's memories were a pain in the ass to catch, but they made me so sad.  I wonder if picking them up with the Anchor is a gameplay conceit, or something more?  After all, there's no mention of Ameridan bearing any magic like the Anchor.  But he did have wibbly wobbly timey wimey magic for binding Hakkon, so I guess anything's possible?

 

Ugh, these feels.  I make fun of my cat for getting all stressed whenever he sees one of the neighborhood strays in our yard, yet here I am, a ball of emotion over pixels.  There will be Ameridan fanfiction.
