If I may ask, a little bit offtopic. Is there an armour in the game(singleplayer! , I know about mp one) similar to the ones we see elvhes during our visitation in the Temple of Mythal?

I just noticed his feet, they look very dirty
(Or he hasn't clipped his toenails for centuries man.)

If there is, nobody has found it yet. ![]()

Thank you. Such a pity. Abelas like armour would be great in SP

In theory, if this armor does exist in Singleplayer, it'd most likely have the same name as the one in Multiplayer. It's just a matter of finding said armor (or the schematics) in game.

Fantastic, thanks so much for these! I'll add them to the OP soon

New goal for the completionist run-through haha.
If that armor is available, I haven't found it.
And I killed all the dragons. The non-romanced Merril armor schematic is available in the Hissing Wastes from a vendor. The Keeper outfit schematic is also available from the last dragon in the Emprise du Leon. I've never found any heavy elven armor though, much less that one. Do want though, so all the party members can drool as it hugs the Quizzies curves.

With our luck, it will look like some shemlen rags when put on a female elf. ![]()
Also, Cosmia, please put a link to nightwolf667's "Lingering in the Sun" story in the OP. It's in her signature. It's very good and has a fair bit of Abelas in it.

Ooh, done! I'll give it a read through as well. Thank you
We should get more discussion going though! Does anyone know anything about ancient elvhen romance? Do they do marriage? I'm asking for... reasons.
Awesome thread is awesome.

Depends really...Ancient Elves Might of done but later on a lot of Elves married because they wanted to keep their culture safe and their life-span ageless.
"Marriage is highly important for city elves; it is the rite of adulthood in elven communities and will often be prearranged in order for new blood to join an otherwise diluted gene pool. The absolute worst thing an elf could do is marry or breed outside their race since only humans are born between elven and human unions; which is adverse for such limited communities that depends on each other and tradition for day-to-day survival.
Furthermore, their closer relationship can sometimes result in what are known as Elf-blooded children, of both human and elven parentage."
Once, my people walked this land as gods. We worked magic that would blind you with its beauty. Now, we lurk in the deep forests and prepare for the next time you shemlen do something that upsets the balance of this world.

We don't know about the Ancient Elves. There is a possibility though (if we use Tevinter Imperium as 'spiritual succesor' or even comparative motif) that they were putting a heavy accent on straight elf arranged marriages in order to enhance breeding and cast purebreds on the Elvhenan.
About modern elves: what Atmostis said: elf-elf breeding only for a proper elf. Traitors to the elvhes breed with lesser races.
After thinking about the things Solas says about Tevinter, the dwarves and the Qun, I'm starting to think that they all mimiced Elvhenan simply because it was the first widespread society. Kind of like how the Romans or Alexander the Great influenced the parts of the world they conquered.
Tevinter pretty much copied Elvhenan's magocracy wholesale, but that makes sense since they were the first to pillage what was left after Arlathan fell.
I'm not saying that the Elvhen conquered the Kossith or the dwarves, but look at the similarities -- the dwarves use face tattoos to mark those who are "less than" in the same way that the elvhen used vallaslin on slaves.
And Abelas' name means "sorrow". That's not a name, it's more like a job description, like what the Qunari do.

Interesting thought about the job description! Gosh, I wish there was more lore to read about the topic, as well as an organized chart showing the timeline and historical events that occured. Are elves or dwarves the older civilization?

Seconded! Also for reasons...I didn't get the Inquisitor Edition so I haven't seen all the art in the deck, but does anyone know if Abelas has a tarot card? I need to know... for reasons...
I kind of want to kill him and steal his armor for myself.
*looks around at all the Abelas fans*
Er...I mean...get him naked and steal his armor for myself!
