I strangely found the Architect handsome and as I recall I loved his voice. It's been awhile since i played Awakenings but I do remember his face. I think I would have liked to have seen the side to Corypheus that I read in the codex. It seemed that he had this contemplative and regretful nature that was never shown. Corypheus isn't dead is he? Wonder if the Architect could free him? It wouldn't surprise me if they know each other.

Oh, they knew each other: according to the World of Thedas, vol. II (p.55): “And yet, the fire in the Conductor’s heart ignited / Within the Architect a terrible flame.” The conductor is Cory-bae. So. GAME ON!!!

Does Abelas have eyebrows? I would say that he doesn't have them but I'm not sure even if I have watched some of the images of him because he has the vallaslin which makes it hard to see if he actually have thin eyebrows.

Also I have wonderful plans to write a smut scene with Abelas where the dialogue is entirely in fenxshiral's elven. I just... need the time.

Yeah, working elven into the story without it being totally stilted and unintelligible is time-consuming. I'vee been working on an origin story for my Lavellan and the dialogue is killing the flow of writing for me.

I just incorporate it as regular dialogue and put the translations in notes at the end. I suppose it's somewhat time consuming for people, but the occasions I've used it, I think it's gone over pretty well and made sense within the context of the story. 

 

Also, I can cheat and have them say terribly dirty things to each other without blushing, because it's all in elvish.

My problem is not knowing the words. Whenever I want one I stop and think "I know there's a word for this" and go off to find it. By the time I settle on what I wanted or decide there isn't one it's been fifteen minutes and the moment has passed.

Oh yah, I have a lot of stuff saved up and bookmarked already, so I don't have to spend forever crawling around. I wish Bioware had given us a bit more in the actual canon language department, but I like what the fandom has done with it. 

 

And it works well for how i've written Abelas and Shiral thus far.

I've steered clear of using a lot of elvhen mostly because I'm kind of a language moron.  I forget what stuff means surprisingly quickly.  I'll go back and read stuff I wrote for Skyrim, intending to clean it up, and be like "WTF is all this dragon nonsense?!  I literally don't know if she just said 'We're pals' or 'I like your scaly butt.'"

 

So yeah.  I learned my lesson

I copy and paste things excessively to remind myself, or I'd have the same problem. And I'll have the translation tabs open as well. I'll still probably forget. x.x Oh well, that's why it's a writing experiment, right?

Generally I try to keep it in context so it's not gibberish if you don't know the word.  That way it still makes sense to me a month later when I get around to polishing the first part.

Haha, I've been moving, so I've had no time to write. I'm working on a new Abelas chapter now though. It's just slow amidst all the chaos.

You're awesome! See, people think he was awful because he threw a tantrum and told Lavellan you aren't one of my people. It could have been so much worse. Giant trees attacking, flames, poison, arrows, stubbing toes... yeah I think Abelas was restrained. Polite but annoyed sentinel. Is that a contradiction?
