Solas looks like an actual commander now as opposed to hobo mage. I like his transformation into something I can take seriously. A possible threat? Either way he looks like he could command an army in that outfit. I have suspected for a long time that he has one.

I'm really hoping that Solas has now walked his path of solitude and my Lavellan can comfort him. He looks that he has suffered. I'm affraid to see his whole face.

 

I suspect that there is some unknown enemy and Solas is trying to fight against it. Abelas and the sentinels knew that they had to prepare for those who killed Mythal. Maybe that enemy is rising now.

Oh my... I love the way you think! Reminds me of the old diet coke commercial ads with the hunky men. Someone had to build the temple. Could have been the sentinels, all hot and sweaty in the Arbor Wilds. I mean shirts would have to come off amiright? It would all lead to sore muscles and more massages.

 

Hmmm my Lavellan wants to slap him first. Look... she is one of the kitchen gingers. That's how she deals with Dalish hunters who get too hands on after sipping the hooch. Sometimes she just freezes parts of their naughty anatomy but most of the time it's a slap. 

 

Ooooo good theory. I like the idea Abelas and sexy company had been preparing all along for this big bad. It's going to be interesting seeing all of the Elvhen together. Of course... first Solas has to tell my Lavellan who he really is and that is just going to kill the poor lass. She can go cry on Abelas's shoulder afterwards.

Sentinels building the Temple without shirts. I want to see that! I also want to see Abelas building what ever buildings without shirt and I want my DA:4 PC to massage his sore muscles! With oil of course!

 

My first Lavellan will probably run to Solas and kiss him straight away. My second Lavellan will probably talk with him sophisticated and then kiss him sophisticated. My third Lavellan is probably somewhere in Emprise du Lion because I don't think I'm going to get that playhtrough finished by the time the DLC will come out. But she might  slap him first and then kiss passionate.

You know I have mixed feelings about seeing Abelas if it is him. I doubt he would get much screen time and then it might only be a reference to him. But let's say he is there and we see him again. What if we find something out about ancient elves that really changes our opinion? Maybe he says something (again) or does something that completely goes against everything we have witnessed in game thus far. I fear those things. My head cannon fears those things. It's the same for Solas too. He has been out of my game for so long now I have no idea how I will react to him. It's going to be interesting and most likely heartbreaking all around. The fact the sentinels are glowing makes me wonder if they are actually half spirit or something.  Sigh... I just want to get it over with. To be honest (this should be one of those DA confessions) I have gone off most of the other aspects of the game. The ancient elves and the modern elves interest me most. I romanced Cullen initially because I recognized him from the other games. I hated him in DA2 but I wanted to try it out. Then I romanced Solas and I never looked back. Then I found Abelas and I never looked back at Solas. I think Patrick Weekes ruined humans for me for life. Just want more elves and just want more Abelas.

I'm not worried about Abelas if we see him again. What is the worse thing that could happen? He has become a pole dancer and is shaking his booty and asks you "Wanna squeeze?"   Actually I don't want to think about what is the worse thing that could happen if we see Abelas. I'm so terrified to see Solas that I want to live in a world where Abelas is gorgeous and amazing if we see him again. At least that is what I want to think before seeing him and finding hopefully more information about sentinels. Babelas you said earlier that those sentinels might not be the same sentinels that were in Mythal's temple. Once in a while I think that they are but then I'm not sure. They look the same and I'm hoping that they are because then there is a chance to see Abelas again! They could also be Solas' people.

 

I'm very worried about Solas or more likely terrified. I'm afraid that my heart is going to break I'm hoping so much that my Lavellan can get back with him. Maybe their relationship isn't over and there is hope. I also want to play that DLC so that this whole thing is over. Hopefully not over with my Lavellan and Solas or with Abelas but I just want to know!

Abelas shows up like this in Skyhold and I'll faint on my couch. Like for real. But it will be oh so worth it. Sentinels coming to help Quizzy would be very cool also.

 

Then I romanced Solas and I never looked back. Then I found Abelas and I never looked back at Solas. I think Patrick Weekes ruined humans for me for life. Just want more elves and just want more Abelas.

 

Same here! I want moar elves and I'm really looking forward to being around ancient elves in Skyhold. I see three possibilities for the sentinels:

 

- They allied with Solas to fight whatever o whoever murdered Flemeth. 

- They allied with Solas because they are bound to him now (I don't see Solas liking that and he may even break the geas somehow)

- They are pissed off with Solas because of black, lifeless Flemythal. 

 

I hope it's the first one so we are told at least a bit more about that story. And also because I think that's the most likely to feature His Thighship.

 

I also noticed that Solas' armour is very similar to that of the sentinels. Maybe it's standard armour for high-ranking ancient elves? Or for their soldiers when the empire was at its peak? My only worry about Solas is that, as they were discussing over at the Solas thread, he will be probably a bit different than the Solas we know. After two years, he's probably full on mission mindset and that may make him more distant. That would devastate my poor Lavellan  On the other hand, I think time passing would be good for Abelas; he's had time to distance himself from all the loss and hopelesness of the temple. And to have tons of coffee. So he'd be more gentle, methinks.

Same... it's killing me to know where they are going with this. I'm frightened I'll forgive the egg when I see him. He looks miserable. Sounds sexy but looks miserable. I caught myself feeling sorry for him and I'm like no!!! DO NOT FEEL SORRY FOR THE EGG. Remember what he did woman!

 

I hope, especially after seeing how much Inky is suffering and how much the world is trying to ****** on her parade that we get the opportunity to run away with our chosen romance option including Solas. Or maybe he offers to give my Lavellan the chance to hang with the sentinel elves. I could do that. I could soooooo do that.

I agree. I don't see Solas liking that at all. Which is good because I'd hate him if he used the sentinels because he can not because they want to help. But then I worry about Morrigan. If she gets the godhood... just uggggggggggggg.

I would prefer the first option too.  It would also be interesting how Abelas would react when my Inky says sure I will help you defeat Mythal's murderer. He'd start imagining her naked after that I suspect unless he has already hooked up with a kitchen ginger.  I think it is their battle gear. It would make sense since the sentinels were dressed in it when we met them in the temple. I suspect it is specially made to enhance their magic which mainly rests in their thighs   

 

I read a codex once that mentioned the gods made the armor for their followers out of unique material. So whatever it is... it's special. 

 

I can't imagine Solas being the same either if I'm honest. That might not be a bad thing you know. It may actually have made him realize how much he missed Lavellan and that if he tells her the truth she might come to accept him for who he really is. It's going to be hard emotionally either way. I am really going to hate if the only reason he tells her is because he has no other choice. That would make me angry.

I noticed two things in the trailer today.

 

1. The dragon stepped on the Quanari. I'm wondering if it is helping Inky.

 

2. When Inky first goes through the mirror I can see someone in the sentinel looking cape fighting the Quanari. Unless Inky has a ripped cape at the bottom with hood? It didn't look like Inky's armor and I don't recall Inky ever having a cloak like that.

I think Solas might not free the sentinels if he thinks he needs them and he thinks that he can use them if they are bound. He definitely doesn't like the whole geas thing but it seems he is willing to sacrifice so much for his mission and that's why he might not free the sentinels even if he could.

I actually would like to see angry sentinels looking for Solas Could Abelas be angrier than he was at the temple?

Wellllll it depends on whether it tries to step on Inky next  But dragons being so closely associated to elven gods, it seems very likely. I don't think Solas would attack the Inquisitor, even one he doesn't like.

I love it when I see a new post to the thread. It's too funny and a good way to pass the time until the 8th, which is really starting to feel like dooms day. 

 

SilentShadows he better not be! If Solas is using the geas to keep the sentinels in servitude my Inky will be all over that like flies on... well you know. No Dalish Inky should be okay with that. Solas would be the biggest hypocrite since ever especially after offering to get rid of the vallaslin if he is using the sentinels. But I understand where you are coming from and it very well may be that either he can't break the geas or he needs them to fulfill his plans, which would hopefully benefit every elf.

Vorathrad, I had another look at that dragon. It has a harness on so.... either Solas is in to bondage or it is someone's pet. Could Mythal have sent a pet dragon to Inky? I still don't think Flemeth is dead. You can't convince me! Flemeth is too cool to die and so are her sentinels.

You and me both! Ugggggg. I keep debating whether to find out before I play or play and cry. I don't see us getting Abelas but what I hope is that there is this potential to bring him in as an LI in DA4. So I am interested to see what they do with him and the sentinels if anything. It would be a shame if they get left out. For such little time in the game they became quite popular. I have a thing for the one that wields the giant maul as well. He has crazy eyes when he fights and he smiles. It's sooooo cute. Plus, he has a big hammer. 

 

You know I still haven't forgiven Sera for her comments after Solas removed the vallaslin from my Inky. I was reminded of that last night when I was trying to tidy up my game. I really don't like Sera at all.

I'm hoping that the sentinels are helping Solas because they have chosen to do so and not because Solas have made them to do it. Even though Solas wants to help people who suffer or who need help, he also thinks that sometimes there needs to be sacrifices if it helps you to achieve your goal. One of my Lavellan let Celene die and let Briala to be in control of Gaspard. In the balcony I could choose a line where my Lavellan was doubting her decisions and Solas comforted her and I think he said something like sometimes you need to make sacrifices or something similar.

I think Abelas could also lean against the wall smirking and not say anything. He could be so confident of himself that he knows that you are eventually going to approach him.

 

There are so many possibilities! Maybe he is really straightforward or maybe he flirts  or maybe he has amazing pick-up lines. I actually would like to see his pick up lines.
