If it was without armor it would be empty. There would be nothing there. The sentinels come in three flavors: light, medium and heavy. I think Abelas was listed as medium. The light ones were the sentinel assassins. Medium must have been archers and heavy was smexy maul wield sentinel that I love, Oooo I have some screen shots of him somewhere. He is hot. So no these armor pics are going to be very underwhelming. Fly cam will be more fun. Butt! I have to downgrade my game first to get it to work again which means my new dlc will stop working. Butt! That's fine because I am done with it.

So these are all untextured because I exported them out of the game yesterday and haven't bothered with textures yet. Butt!!! You can definitely see the shape of his butt o.O LOok what you did SS The sentinel model splits into two for animation purposes (actually it was more than two) But I split it apart so you could see important part of him.

No. There is actually a back plate inside the armor. If you remember the sentinel assassins that you first run into the Arbor Wilds, the top of their armor was one piece all the way around. His is the same except with a cloak added.

So in the Solas thread, the topic came up of Lavellan possibly marrying for political reasons.

 

It's kind of got some Trespasser spoilers, but my response included this:

I hope this missive finds you well.

 

It seems I have recently come into possession of landholdings and a noble title in the city of Kirkwall.  Seeing as you are a leader among your people, and I am a leader among mine, it stands to reason that there would be much to gain politically and socially from a contractual agreement.  Would it be too crass of me to raise the topic of a potential marriage between us, uniting my people with yours?

 

Your standing and mine are more or less equal at this juncture.  Since the Inquisition has disbanded, my forces have become much smaller.  Yours were never particularly massive.  Should we unite in marriage, we would both gain in martial strength as well as political.  Elves would stand to benefit--alas, perhaps not in the way that you would prefer, but a place would be made for your people without the usual scorn and dismissal that my people suffer, while my people could finally begin to live away from the shadow of that scorn.

 

This is a chance for both of us, and I do hope you will consider it with sincerity.

I really like the idea that Lavellan and Abelas would marry for political reasons. And then they would fell in love *cough* I'm hopeless. If I can see somewhere any changes for a romance I get excited.

Here are my thoughs:

What comes to Solas being amazed for Cole's body I think he might have been amazed because it happened after the Veil was created and he though it couldn't be possible because of it or Cole did that by himself and that had never happened before.

If Solas could change his attributes like Babelas suspected I bet Lavellan was very happy... Anyway I think Solas has always had the same body. I think it might be possible that Mythal's spell was so strong that she could create a body to Solas. I mean when she summoned him the spell created body for Solas as well. Maybe he is different because he is spirit who become an elf so that's why he isn't as tall as the other ancient elves or sentinels are special kind of elves who just happens to be taller that the rest I don't believe that myself but I like the thought of it.

I think the words "cast down" means that Mythal was slain because Abelas must know that she isn't dead yet. She has just become a wisp so she is cast down. Maybe she rested somewhere in the Fade and when Solas created the Veils she was able to free herself.

I think there must have been wars in elven empire and in fact there has been because Solas tells you about it. Anyway at some point Mythal must have summoned Solas to help her and at some point Solas must have decided to help the slaves. I'm not sure why Mythal allowed this. It might have been that she couldn't control Solas and she might have thought that Solas freeing the slaves also advanced her plans as well. Maybe Solas was more victorious than she had expected and at some point Mythal became the target because she was his ally and then the other gods killed her to get her power and to take a way Solas' ally. I think it might have been that Evanuris didn't kill her. Maybe it was the forgotten ones. I remember that they were banished so they might have planned to revenge and when the gods continued warring against each other the forgotten ones decided to kill Mythal and frame the other gods knowing what that would do to Solas. Maybe they knew what he might do or they just knew that he would do something drastic. Maybe somebody at Evanuris helped them. Maybe that person made it possible for forgotten ones to kill her. That way it would make sense that Mythal was betrayed as well as the world was betrayed.

Babelas that car example was great. I have also been thinking that maybe Elgar'nan and Mythal weren't couple. Mythal never speaks of it and Solas never mentions is either. Modern elves must have come up that thing.

Vorathrad I don't remember codex entries either. I will always have to check them before I say anything.

I have been thinking that Mythal must have given those sentinels a task that they must protect the well at any cost and because they are bound to her they will have to continue doing that even if she is dead. I think that is the reason why they can't go very far away from the Temple. They can be around the temple because we see them in there. When somebody drinks from it they are freed from their task and they can move on. What comes to shutting down the doors I think it makes sense that after Mythal was killed and it also seems that she was betrayed they decided to lock them up in the temple to protect the well because that duty hadn't ended. I think this makes sense because they probably didn't have much allies at that point.

Babelas now that you said it must have been that Mythal was testing Morrigan.

Ok. One final thought before I stop this monologue.

 

I have been thinking quite a lot about that situation when Abelas "died" (I refuse to accept that he is dead!)  and how it could be possible that he will survive and how it could make sense that he says that their numbers are diminishing if there is a way to resurrect them. Flemeth could resurrect herself and I assume she could do that because Mythal had that knowledge and it wasn't the kind of knowledge which Mythal had just come up after she had entered this word. So I believe that some of the sentinels must have those horcruxes and it must be that those horcruxes are somewhere else than in her temple. Maybe in Tirashan. Anyway I think it would make sense to store them somewhere else than that temple because if the temple is destroyed then the invaders will destroy the horcruxes as well but if the horcruxes are somewhere else then the sentinels can be resurrected but the sentinels can't resurrect themselves now because those items are somewhere else. I think it must have been that somebody was able to kill Mythal because they destroyed her horcruxes as well.

 

Another thought:

Was it Babelas or somebody else who said that the ones who born in the temple are mortal? I have never thought about that. It's so sad This would also make sense why elves are mortal while some of the immortal elves can hang aroung the Thedas .

We are kind of the b*stard child of the Solas thread Is Abelas on Solas's side or is he not? I think that is where Abelas gets relegated to these days if... people aren't too busy saying he is dead. But anyway... elves. I have to say that I'd immensely enjoy Abelas and Varric banters if Abelas wound up in Kirkwall. The best part would be if Abelas actually took her up on the offer.

 

As for Skyhold something tells me:

It's the place where the veil was removed from the world. Solas needs to go back there eventually to drop the veil again. Either way, I see Skyhold going boom! at some point which would be quite amusing.

 

 

I am uncertain whether Abelas knows if Mythal lives on. He does say: 'If a god can truly be slain.' So I really don't know because Abelas talks in his amibigious backtalk, which I love, but it can be infuriating at times. If you ever try writing his ambiguous backtalk make sure to have a very stiff drink on hand. Makes it easier.

 

 

Well... the more I think about Mythal and company the more I wonder this:

So we know Flemeth was betrayed by Conobar. She cried out for justice and Mythal came to her eventually. Flemeth says something like 'As I was betrayed, as she was betrayed, as the whole world was betrayed.'

 

The more I read that the more I think Elgar'nan was the one who carried out the treachery that led to Mythal's murder. So you have two women who have been wronged by the men in their lives. That is what unites them. They both want justice (funny since Mythal was the goddess of justice) But that probably attracted her to Flemeth in the first place.  The big question to me is: How was the whole world betrayed? Is this reference to Solas? I go back to the fact that I am not certain Mythal ever supported the rebellion. Abelas is still bound to her, the well is still active and so assuming the Mythal wisp could release the sentinels from duty, why didn't she? Why didn't Flemeth simply take the knowledge of the well? You are telling me that Mythal didn't have the power to take the knowledge of the well and release her slaves? And they are slaves. Make no mistake about that. They are bound to her will, they wear vallaslin and I would argue that their lives are far worse than that of a slave because they are completely controlled. What was it Solas said? Even a slave can find peace in his own thoughts or something like that. The sentinels do not even know that their thoughts are their own. I doubt they are even able to leave the temple if they wanted. 

 

Back to Mythal. So if the relationships of the gods are correct then Mythal was betrayed by her family. That's some messed up sh*t

Unfortunately, I get the feeling that if we do see Abelas again, it will be in a situation where we have to choose between him and Solas.

Aye it really is but even if I was madly in love with Solas I'd still come here I've never felt like I could just chat in that thread.  But whatevs... I didn't jump on the Solas love train soon enough I guess. I dunno or maybe it's just me. I don't play nicely with others. 

 

Hehehe veal? Oh i loved that part! Where she keeps talking about food items instead of the chant of light. That cracked me up.

 

I have no idea what Flemeth wants. One minute I think I understand.. the next and I am so perplexed mostly because she is human. See that gets me. Tearing down the veil would mean either a mass exodus for humans from Thedas or death from chaos or I have no idea... I just know humans can't live like that. It's funny to think that all this time Thedas was being saved by an Elvhen goddess . Kind of cool really. I think back now to the other games DA2 and DAO and while the world neared annihilation many times over, Abelas slept. If my Warden had only been able to romance him... (sorry Zev!) I choose thighs!

 

Easy choice for me but I understand how that would be difficult for some, easy for others and down right painful for the people who love them both.

I can't decide what to make of Mythal's intentions; yes she was very close to Solas but as you said sentinels were definitely slaves (the best slave is the one that loves the leash, and that sadly applied to Abelas and probably the rest of sentinels) And she has been saving Thedas once and again; she also is the opposite of Solas regarding the Dalish: she respects them and only resents that they.don't respect themselves more.

Some people think that is Abelas but it looks female to me. I'm still not sold on Abelas helping Solas just because... I am not sold that Mythal and Solas have the same plan and I am not sold that Abelas would agree with Solas. If DA4 comes out and Abelas is like standing there beside Solas and I'm just supposed to swallow that as he would because reasons, I'll be burning the game. People are starting to ask the same questions. Who are these agents? Where did they come from? Why are they following him? Have they always been around? I also think that if Solas has agents guess who else has agents? That's right, Mythal is all up in that sh*t b*tches. I went almost a full day without saying it. How the f*ck did Solas ever convince the Dalish to join his cause? And why are elves leaving? Where the hell are they going? Who has convinced them and how have they convinced them? Question land.

 

I also have to say it did p*ss me off to see, what I believe to be a Dalish, in that slide. I wanted to punch Solas many times over when he started insulting my male Inky Dalish dude. Guy was smoking hot and he loved his clan. If the Dalish also just join up with Solas because, reasons... burning game. Those could be Elvhen agents or rather agents born to Elvhen parents. They would be born mortal and look like regular elves. 

 

I want to see an all out Elvhen war. Solas on one side, Mythal and Abelas on the other. That would be like orgasmic.

I have not played Trespasser yet, since I like to wait until all expansions are out (and being spoiled) before playing a game through.  People ask how I can enjoy it because I know what happens, but reading about something is not the same as experiencing it.

But yeah, from what I've heard, Solas is building an army?  Well, either an army or a herd of elves to perform a blood magic ritual with.  But he specifically says that he doesn't use blood magic.  Still, he's not completely against it, so this could be another one of these, "I really don't like it, but I have to" things.  Ugh.

 

That a Dalish could follow Fen'Harel irks me as well.  Then again, it could have been a female Sentinel in the slide.  I'd like to think that all these elves he is gathering up are ancient Elvhen who were somehow in hiding, and he's basically making a refugee camp for them.

 

Abelas and Mythal vs. Solas would be problematic for me, because I have one Lavellan who is happily married to Cullen and is all for integration, and another who is feral and loves everything about Solas.
