I have not played Trespasser yet, since I like to wait until all expansions are out (and being spoiled) before playing a game through.  People ask how I can enjoy it because I know what happens, but reading about something is not the same as experiencing it.

But yeah, from what I've heard, Solas is building an army?  Well, either an army or a herd of elves to perform a blood magic ritual with.  But he specifically says that he doesn't use blood magic.  Still, he's not completely against it, so this could be another one of these, "I really don't like it, but I have to" things.  Ugh.

 

That a Dalish could follow Fen'Harel irks me as well.  Then again, it could have been a female Sentinel in the slide.  I'd like to think that all these elves he is gathering up are ancient Elvhen who were somehow in hiding, and he's basically making a refugee camp for them.

 

Abelas and Mythal vs. Solas would be problematic for me, because I have one Lavellan who is happily married to Cullen and is all for integration, and another who is feral and loves everything about Solas.

I like the way you think. If it were my Inky then Abelas did the cooking. She is like the worst Dalish cook ever and has a strange ability to accidentally catch everything on fire. Four aravels later and the Keeper accepted there was no hope for her first. 

 

Very true. Reading always feels more real to me. I guess because I can use my imagination. Playing the game is like crack for my eyes and oooo something shiny.

I think it was possibly a sentinel. Then again, if the Elvhen have integrated into some of the Dalish camps it could be a young Elvhen. I'm still not convinced Solas has any sway over the sentinels. Mythal still controls them.

 

I have a batsh*t crazy Lavellan who loves Solas because she believes he is the Maker reborn. She'll follow him anywhere. I have another Lavellan who romance no one. The thighs ruined her for life. She pines after them and at night she prays to Mythal to bring her one of the hunky sentinels. 

 

So meh I could go either way.

The shoulders sure aren't bad, either.  This is why I could not finish my male Lavellan playthrough, even with mods installed.  Such a pretty, pretty face, and a smile that wrecked me, but no shoulders.

It has to be the picture I love of him best. It's gorgeous. It even rivals the thighs (you did not hear me say that. I will never say it again. Enjoy) but Maker I wouldn't say no to him in that get up and the hair. Yum. 

 

Man I need a bath. I understand why she was upset now. That was some messed up crap thrown back at Avejajed. And that is why I do not go there. But I will say this: I never liked Merrill. Ever. Her inane banter drove me up the wall. She did act like a spoiled brat with the keeper. I would say it was actually more telling of her character that she did not respect her Hahren. I will also if not for Solas and Abelas, the elves of Dragon Age would never have reached the point where I feel I can take them serious. They grew up this time around in this installment of DA. Yep, it's my opinion. Hate it, love it, ignore it or well shove it. I don't care. But that's how I feel about it.

I can't decide what to make of Mythal's intentions; yes she was very close to Solas but as you said sentinels were definitely slaves (the best slave is the one that loves the leash, and that sadly applied to Abelas and probably the rest of sentinels) And she has been saving Thedas once and again; she also is the opposite of Solas regarding the Dalish: she respects them and only resents that they.don't respect themselves more.

Also related to this, am I the only one annoyed at seeing a Dalish elf on the ending slide that tells about Solas followers? After talking so much trash of them he isn't above using them for his own purposes? Is it a coincidence that the Dalish shown on the slide is wearing Mythal's vallaslin?

So that you folks know, I do intend to write a fanfic based on that goofy letter I came up with.  Though I am not sure if it'll go the way you'd prefer, but, well.  It'll mostly be fluff and angst.

I'll have to confess that I didn't like Merrill either. I don't hate her but I couldn't keep her in my party because she annoyed me. A lot of people like Harding but she was too nice for my taste. Some people also hate Bianca and I thought she was great I think it's good that there are different kinds of people and I think  it's good that companions evoke emotions because if they wouldn't then those characters would be boring even though those emotions would be negative.

Babelas I'm not sure does the world was betrayed line reference directly to Solas. But if we think about how world can be betrayed then the whole mystery of betrayal might get resolved. I think the world was betrayed because Solas created the veil. It seems that Solas is to blame here but then again Mythal/Flemeth doesn't seem to blame him. So I think there is a possibility that somebody manipulated/tricked Solas in believing that Veil was needed or there simply wasn't any third party involved but I really doubt that. So what did the Veil do? Veil separated the waking world and the sleeping world. Once they were one and the same but when the veil was created they get separated. When Mythal was slain she get separated from her world as well as from her people. From her lover? When Flemeth was betrayed she was separated from her lover. Maybe that's what Mythal/Flement meant. Maybe there was a man who betrayed them all. Who knows.

I think Mythal had the power to free Abelas and sentinels and she could have done it but she didn't. Maybe she didn't need that information for herself. She had raised daughters so she must have different kind of plans going on and the well was one of them. It's very difficult to see what she was trying to do but I think that was her way of doing things. Pulling strings here and there and to get what she wanted. Maybe she was also preparing for something/someone.

The thing that Mythal could affect  thoughts of those are bound sounds so bad that I don't want to accept that possibility. I fear that something bad happens to my Lavellans who drank from the well (all of them so far) and that woman will use my Inkys to stop Solas. NO! But then again it might be that Solas could free Lavellan if he wants it. Or could he? Abelas and the sentinels and the one who drank from the well are bound but were slaves also bound to their gods? If so then Solas definitely have the ability to free them.

The thing that Mythal might affect on Abelas' thoughts worries and it also makes my mind wander. I think it would be quite interesting and twisted if Mythal would make Abelas to try to get the next DA PC to fell in love with him so that she could affect more on that PC's decisions. While the relationship between Abelas and that PC would develop he would fell in love with the PC for real.

I agree. If the characters do not evoke emotions then you may as well turn the power off to your computer. Because what is the point? I'll be talking about characters and emotions in a minute. It's one of them days SS. Oh yeah,... rant day. 

 

I don't know that the world betrayed is about Solas. It was a guess. But there is this other part of me that thinks it has something to do with Andraste. Like the world believes in this big publicity campaign and that's not what happened. I don't know why. I feel like there is some sort of something to do with Flemeth and Andraste and that it isn't good. I think this because Andraste has been set up as this martyr figure and I think there has to be more to it. I guess Flemeth could have been Andraste. I just feel there is some connection and I do believe Andraste was a mage. Plus, I think the Chantry is covering up some facts about Andraste and I think something will eventually come out. Failing that, I'm going with the veil. You see, I doubt Mythal thought Solas would do something like that for one second. Maybe she even told him not to do it no matter what. Maybe she feels it's just another reason to hate her murderers, that they pushed her best friend to that decision. I mean that makes sense too. Not only did they murder Mythal, but they threatened to destroy the world and the only solution was the veil. 

 

I like to think Mythal had someone she loved that wasn't Elgar'nan. Doesn't the lore about him just spell out abusive husband or is it just me? That could be a very interesting plot too. If we find out he was abusive and then found out Mythal had a lover and then plotted her murder. Abelas had many temple duties LOL. I still laugh when I see naked Mythal come out of the well. I'm like Abelas    No wonder you didn't want to give up the well without a fight. 

 

Mythal may have been murdered before she had the chance to free the sentinels. I think she was in a difficult situation. From the codexes I read, I got a feel for Mythal. She was intelligent, cunning and sometimes ruthless when necessary or pushed. I think on the outside she made certain to keep up appearances as not to raise suspicion. But secretly she was helping Solas with this rebellion and I think they had a plan to overthrow the gods together. It's the same plan he mentions when he talks about dropping the veil and dealing with the gods. But I think Mythal was murdered before they had a chance to take on the gods. Then the veil was the only option Solas felt he had left. I don't think Mythal blames him for that decision. I think she blames the Evanuris for pushing Solas into making that decision and that is the world betrayed. Solas was in a crap position no matter how you look at it.

 

It's unfortunately not a possibility. It is a certainty. Solas says to Lavellan after she drinks from the well that everything she does will be for the god she bound to... something along those lines. Look what happens when you confront Flemeth with Morrigan. Your Inky is actually controlled by Flemeth. So yeppers, Mythal has Inky 100% under her control. Hehe I'd love Mythal if she did that. That's assuming Abelas isn't already her lover. Some days I wonder about it. It's all hot.

 

Loyalties woman! No... really having a choice is always good. 

 

I went on the Solas thread once or twice... once just to chat about Solas, which ended with me disagreeing with the popular opinion at the time and then being ignored, and another time to defend Abelas. The funny thing is.. it was the Solas thread that helped me start to develop a real dislike for Solas. Kind of funny. It was also long enough to realize that there are many vipers just waiting to sink their fangs into you. No thanks. Some talk the trash, but then you call them out on it, and it's doe eyes, and why is she picking on me?   Just no. They hate me. I don't care        Some of them are nice people for realsies. I wish those people well. I just want to say to them: Solas wants to sleep with all your Lavellans. Mass panic ensues.

 

I need a new avatar. I love Zev but he doesn't reflect my current Abelas mood.

 

I learned that Solas is a Dreamer. Makes sense really. You peeps remember Dreamers? You know they can influence minds, kill people in their sleep etc. Now I know how he is getting his agents. Muwahahaha.

I've always had really bad vibes about Elgar'nan. I also noticed no one mentions him much. I think he really gives people the creeps. It's the temper. It just doesn't spell out happy individual.

 

I don't if Mythal can control actual thoughts. Like make you like something. I remember my Inky being like what the f*ck... I can't stop myself. She was trying to resist. She wouldn't if Mythal said go visit Abelas. He's naked. 

 

I don't get love vibes when Solas speaks about Mythal. I think it was more like a mother/son relationship. Some times I get suspected love vibes from Abelas and his codexes. But people tell me I'm delusional and that he just loved her in a religious sense. I don't really care either way. It doesn't have to be romantic love. I just know Abelas loved her in his own way. I love Mythal too because she is Flemeth and Flemeth is my favorite flavor of crazy. Strong, independent woman who doesn't put up with stupid sh*t. My kind of person. She also saved my Warden and my Hawke and she seems to love all elves regardless of where they are from. 

 

 

If Cole helps her forget it happened then perhaps Solas doesn't always resist
