This is only a bit of it. I am trying to find the one with the rest of the um...stuff.
Correction I believe this is all in the Temple anyway. there is another one with the inq talking to mythal not relevant to this. But I don't trust that persons whisper mastery. I think instead of saying :

They were just pawns in her game maybe? She saw their strength knew they would become great and influential in the world and ya know had them do stuff to help set her own plans in motion. Which leads me back to that thing i was telling babelas about which now i am really gonna need to write. eeeffff.

So I just read something Maia wrote in the Solas thread about the knee faces on the sentinel armor. What if that armor is spirit-imbued like the KE's Spirit Blade?
Cue Alistair: "Creepy."

I think that Mythal got herself connected to something that she couldn't stop because she was murdered. I'm starting to think Dumat was an actual thing and went up again the Elvhen pantheon and I'm really starting to think that world betrayed line has something to do with Dumat. But it's all crazy theories. However, I do believe that leafless tree is representative of Mythal in the DAO trailer.

Yep Barindur is one of Solas's Fade stories though... I suspect he was there. Cheeky b*stard. But I mean it was an actual city and it's all tied to Corypheus and Dumat. I thought I was crazy until I noticed Barindur starts to tie in Cory to the whole thing. Then we have Flemeth taking an old god soul. Hmmm it's like I think I'm close to something... ugggggg this is worse than that million piece jigsaw I got for Christmas one year.
The knee faces need to go. But I saw someone draw a smiley face on them. Was too cute.

Numenoreans.... I think the first magisters were the equivalent. Maybe not long lived but there are so many similarities. These men started wanting what the elves had in Valinor and they decided to invade the land of the gods to try and take it. They were punished. Barindur sounded so much like Barad-dur that I couldn't help but go there. It's not the same exact story but I have to wonder...
Night! I'll take my crazy away too. Sleep well everyone!

Not sure what it may mean in terms of darkspawn, but I think Dirthamen could have spearheaded the strike vs. Mythal out of vengeance for Falon'din. The alternative would be that Dirthamen's disappearance is part of what caused Mythal to act and thus be murdered, but that seems less likely.

I think the knee faces are a very very poor design choice and I hope Abelas first decision as a free sentinel is killing them with fire
Babelas, you.definitely are onto something. And the Silmarillion connection, brilliant! I love that book, but it's sooooo long since I read it. I must read it again.
Only thing is, Corypheus claims the Black City was already corrupted when the magisters entered. So I think a possible timeline would be:
I know, it's a very raw and kind of crappy theory.

Just going to point out something here: Mythal is not the only Evanuris represented by a tree. There is also Falon'din. A tree with no leaves suits him perhaps even better. And we know he was trapped within the Fade (maybe returned to spirit state?).
You mean for Flemeth's grimoire or for the DAO intro?
What other god uses a leafless many branched tree and has a connection to the Blight?
From what I've seen in the game thus far, I do not believe the Elvhen pantheon is going to reappear. I think more of their story may come out. But it felt like they were getting downplayed. Even if they are freed, I don't know we will ever see them. It seems like one of those things that would take a ton of resources and they already have two of the gods very well fleshed out. It's more likely we will get story background instead. I know there is a popular Elvhen god movement out there but I'd be surprised and not unhappy if they showed up but I don't see it happening in game.
Flemythal seems to have been planned out from the beginning which would make sense. The character is at the center of the lore. Why would Flemeth own a book with another god's symbol? It's either an insane coincidence or just luck they happen to pick something they could use again. And I don't think so because they have been hinting at her identity from the beginning.
The DAO trailer is referencing the Blight. We know Flemeth speaks the calling. Either it is a huge coincidence there is a leafless tree and then magisters getting punished and dragon heads or it was for dramatic effect. We know Flemeth mentions the music, like Sandal, like Cole, like anyone in contact with corrupted lyrium or darkspawn. It seems to be pointing to the connection. Many times when I have heard Flemeth go on about the music and that as long as it plays she continues to dance, I felt she was mentioning a curse of some sort. Maybe the Blight, maybe her connection to it.
1. In DA2 the shrine in Sundermount is Mythal's shrine
2. Flemeth can turn into a dragon starting in DAO. We know why.
3. That tree in DAO goes from leafy to dead and I suspect it represents Mythal's murder.
4. Flemeth hints heavily to Merrill about what she is beyond her title.
5. We know Flemeth is long lived in DAO and we know she has been betrayed. (she was betrayed as I was betrayed I take it to mean Elgar'nan in Mythal's case. It would connect the two women nicely.)
6. Why use a freakin tree to symbolize the blackening of the golden city?
Also
Solas is upset about the wardens and their plan to kill archdemons. He says it might make it worse. I think he means it would make it worse for Mythal. I think she is the reason Thedas has Blights. Perhaps she set something in motion and couldn't reverse it because she was murdered or perhaps her murder freed the Blight from the Void. Thank you Andruil for that one.
Anyway, it's all fun to poke daggers in the dark and drive the forum insane. On an Abelas related note.... he'd know the answers to this. Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!
