So, honey - yes! Bees are very magical, and there should be more about bees and honey than just stupid Sera throwing pots at people - she's making the bees angry, grrr! After all, there would be NO COFFEE WITHOUT BEES!

 

As for the Fade, I've been wrestling with that in my story, and just kind of... you know, you go into the Fade, and find people's dreams and voilà! I admit it, I didn't get technical. I guess I spend so much time in my own imagination that sometimes it seems more real to me than a world governed by physics. I like this idea of elves not being physical and then getting trapped in a body, because it explains why they started ageing and why they don't have elf babies with shems. I've been reading Rushdie's new novel about jinns, and they do the same thing: they can create or possess(!) a body when they cross into our world.

Hey now... don't blame me that your mind wanders to Abelas's crotch. That was never my doing. 

 

You have to name him first then we can start his flaming fandom. Muwahaha gawd that was awful. 

 

It will get better or I will move my baby elsewhere. There's only so much a person can deal with when it doesn't involve golden thighs. I'm a real bee lover. I hated that bees were used as a weapon. I hope some idiot out there doesn't decide to go try it :/ Where is your story? You can pm a link if you don't want to post one. I no tell. The Fade talk gets weird fast but, I agree, it's fascinating. It explains so much too. I mainly hope its something along the lines of what SS said so that people will shut f*ck up with the Abelas hate. That'd be great. Amen.

 

On the plus side... the tweet that went out about elves and humans cleared up the idea that Abelas would call an elf blooded human an abomination. No... he'd just call them a shem, which is what I believed in the first place. That made me happy.  The baby has absolutely no elf genetics in them. Thank you.

 

Anyway.... so I'm currently writing the angry sex scene. Magical smoke is pouring out of his eyes and my Inky thinks it is the hottest thing ever while watching him errrrr ummmmmmmm in the mirror.... behind.... you get the idea!!! Pervert.

Truer words have never been spoken. My ME AO3 story reached 100 <3's and I want to celebrate by writing something.  I had been trying to make an Abelas playlist to write to...and trying to figure out how I should write him...He's so hard! I mean difficult. AHH!

Way, way back when I was writing goofy banters for Abelas and the Inquisition crew, I found that his dialogue was easiest to write as a mix of Solas and Fenris.  Which sounds odd but bear with me.

 

For example, when Morrigan and quizzy reach the Well before him, he says, "So the sanctum is despoiled at last."  Solas would have given you a lecture on exactly how bad you done f***ed up, and Fenris would have said something nasty in Tevene  Abelas is sort of a hybrid of the two; his word choice has Solas's weight and elegance, but it's to-the-point like Fenris.

Not sure if you want to use this motivation, but he could be trying to follow up on Solas's plans, and he gets intercepted by the Inquisitor.  Abelas's loyalties would then be divided between the Dread Wolf trying to restore the elvhen, and the modern elf who holds the last remnants of Mythal's wisdom.
